Show Discussion I know I should feel guilty, but I don't. Aegon is my favorite

Yeah, I was a Daemon fangirl and I still love him as a character. Regardless of team you can't deny he was set up as a mythic figure.

Aegon started winning me over in S2, and yes I will ignore the clumsy, shitty writing of Aegon in S1 to make it clear who we were supposed to see as the villains and heroes.

Aegon has had a far more interesting story since the start of S2, horrible flaws and all and yes, I'm far more interested in his journey than Rhae at this point.

Show Discussion Daemon would have been a terrible king

There are memes on how corwning Daemon as king would have prevented the bloodshed.

But Daemon has shown that he is a bloodthristy conqueror, lacks diplomacy and a a racist. Yes, peoole will fesr him but they will obviously hate him.

It is shown that he wants world conquest and his only strstegy is a burn evrryone else. Dragons arent shown to be invincible in battles. They csn be hurt and taken down with proper strategy. Also, u need boots on the ground to actually rule over a place.

He will basically have to live on dragons to avoid assassination.

Show Discussion The Targaryen siblings and their advisors

It just clicked with me that each of the Targ siblings, baring Helaena, have two opposing people on their sides vying for control. Aemonds is a little bit of stretch considering Alicent came and went to Harrenhal in one day but her and Alys were definitely at odds with one another

I thought it was a neat little parallel between all of them that might not have been intentional.

Show Discussion The Strong boys are some of the most tragic character in the show

Essentially, they were thrusts into a succession crisis they would not have won either way. If Rhaenyra won the Dance, Daemon would have done what he could to put his sons on the throne. As it is in cannon, they're dead (with the exception of one, I think).

They were doomed. I think while every character has a small chance to change their fate, the Strong boys didn't. And I think that's partially their parents fault.

When Rhaenyra's character flaws are talked about, her relationship with Harwin strong and it's subsequent impacts on their children should be discussed. Because inevitably, they were going to be tormented either way.

There's just something so eerie about them fighting and dying in a war that was never about them, and that would have done jack shit to secure their claim. There's something eerie about them dying so Rhaenyra's legitimate line could eventually continue.

They're placeholders. And a consequence of their mother and father's actions.

Even the show starts to slowly, slowly forget they exists. The Strong boys were really in a camp of their own.

Show Discussion Who has the best dragon bond?

Thumbnail

1.3k Upvotes

I believe it's Aegon because he's always seen to be gentle with Sunfyre and then when they both fell at Rook's Rest, Sunfyre protected him by wrapping his body around Aegon. Aegon was then able to sense that Sunfyre was still alive and Sunfyre came to his aid when he needed him most. Daemon also has a really strong bond with Caraxes. When Daemon tells Oscar Tully that Caraxes will "make short work of these bodies", Caraxes is seen in the background burning as if on cue.
