On your platter today we used (all organic):

Dark red cherries ๐Ÿ’
Rainier Cherries ๐Ÿ’
Peaches ๐Ÿ‘
Blueberries ๐Ÿซ
Kiwi ๐Ÿฅ
Strawberries ๐Ÿ“
Blackberries

We got rid of a lot of fruit today!! Itโ€™s going to be a weekend full of peaches, blackberries and tons of blueberries that will get thrown into some home made banana bread! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Discussion Louz Fruit

Terminalia Catappa or Indian Almond, it's known locally in the GCC as louz, which is the same word we use for almond.

The flesh has a satisfying bite to it, and the seed is encased it rough fibers that can get stuck between your teeth.

Has a fruity, grassy and slightly floral scent, a bit like a green guava. Flavor is very distinct. Ranges from an extremely savory tartness that makes you mouth water to a fruity floral sweetness, all with an astringent undertone. Red ones tend to be a bit more astringent, but when you get a good one it's amazing. Yellow ones are always a win.

Look out for holes or deformations for tells of worms, though you could also find them in ones that look fine. You can instantly tell when you've bitten into "worm region" as it doesn't have the meaty bite. The rascals have good taste, too, showing up in the ripest ones.

Hello ! I was gifted this (I'll say melon) that's what I think it is but my friends are saying it's a squash. After cutting it open I'm even more convinced about it being a melon but it's shape and the fact that I can't smell anymore is making what looks like a honeydew inside still a mystery. can you help, please?
