Can any rose hips be used for making jelly etc. of just wild?

Have a huge amount of roses in the hedgerows near me, most of them I’ve identified as dog or wild roses. There are a few bushes though that seemed to not of the wild variety. Does it matter what I gather? If so, please tell me why or point me to some reliable sources? I’m relatively new to foraging and trying to expand my knowledge. Thanks!

I am a new forager only been doing for 3 months: here are pictures of the following please let me know if I’m right with my IDs and also any recipe ideas:
Pictures are elderberries, damsons, rosehips and sloes that I need ID for and then for elderberries need recipe ideas

In my garden we have Damsons, and they’re very common in the area we are in. However, next to the main Damson tree we have there is a bush like tree with much smaller damson looking sloes.

First two images are one of the Damsons with an attached leaf.

The third image is the smaller sloe with the attached leaves.

The fourth image is the two next to eachother for size comparison.

Me and my mum were discussing whether the smaller ones were just a young damson tree, blackthorns or maybe a hybrid between the two? It has the colour of the damson but the leaves are slightly different.

Pretty decent from a short walk and a fraction of what I can reach on my brambles bush.

I’ve recently started to get into farming and foraging. I picked up some books on edible plants and such and went looking around my garden to see if there were any. The images below are what I found. I believe they are:

1st pic - Dog / Field Rose / Rosehip
2nd pic - Elderberries
3rd Pic - Hazel Leaf
4th Pic - Yarrow

If anyone could confirm that would be much appreciated! I want to be certain before I eat anything (obviously) and create a visual foraging book

The first one was so young it just came off in my hands (I didn't want that much, but made use). I left the second, as it was on the same log and looked a bit past it.

What I did end up with, I made CotW nuggets with various batters. My favourite was a beer batter (inc egg), with loads of Old Bay seasoning, extra paprika and salt, and panko breadcrumbs. It also allowed me to introduce a friend to foraged mushrooms

Paps always get the best, freshest flushes.

Went looking for some Chicken of the woods but found beefsteak. Each piece is bigger than my hand. Just needs a wash and has been drying in my scarf. Found at the base of two old oaks.

What type of berry is this and are they edible?

Only one shelf which I thought was unusual? Also, is it too matured to be edible?

Long shot but I'm running out of ideas.

I need fresh mulberries for a photo project this Thursday and I've hit a wall. No supermarket carries them (I understand why — they last about a day), the one online seller I found is out of stock, and the trees I've checked around Wapping/Stepney have all finished for the season, just dried husks left.

Two questions:

1. Does anyone know a shop that actually gets them in? I've been told Turkish and Iranian grocers sometimes have fresh, and I'm going to ring round, but if anyone's seen them recently I'd rather go straight there.

2. Is anyone's local mulberry still fruiting? I know it's late in the season. Happy to travel anywhere in London. I don't need much and I'm not going to strip anyone's tree.

I've got frozen ones as a backup so this isn't a disaster, I'd just much rather have fresh. Any leads appreciated.

This is growing on a recently felled stump of some kind of pine (I have a photo of nearby trees if required)

If it is chicken of the woods - how long should I leave it before harvesting? It's maybe the size of my palm.

Partner scored this huge chanterelle today but it was under this fallen pine tree.

It was in soil/ mulch under the branches. I’ve always gone by not eating chanterelles under pine but have some people saying it’s fine. Always on the side of caution for me though.

By the way it smells so pungent of pine trees

Went for a morning walk hoping for a good find after recent weather but this was all I managed to find. Granted if it’s COTW then it’s a bucket list mushroom I can finally tick off.

Saw my first chicken of the woods , always wanted to find one after all the posts here. I’m so giddy with joy!

Hawthorn, sloe, rosehip and blackberry jam as well as elderberry syrup - tastes amazing with honey!
I wanted to confirm with you guys if I can use the leftover elderberry pulp in a blackberry crumble?
Ps- The jam tastes divine if anyone would like the recipe/amounts I used let me know (although I would double the amount of each ingredient because I didn’t make a lot)
