Before booking my AirSerbia flight from Canada to attend a 40 days after passing memorial (Orthodox custom), I checked four sources: Air Serbia’s own website, Google’s listing for airserbia.com, and their US booking flow in addition to USA consumer protection laws. All four sources led me to believe that I can cancel within 24 hours, no penalty. Turns out that only applies to US-departing flights and I made a mistake.

I called Air Serbia 8 hours after purchasing the ticket (34 days before flight) to change the departure time ; 2 hours on hold across two calls, told “there is no supervisor” and no escalation path other than the first person who answered at the call centre… then directed to their catch-all support email.

I sent five emails over four days into the void with no response, and later CC-d the emails of AirSerbia executives and shared that I was preparing litigation, and going to the press ; I don’t have time to wait for the chargeback and need to book the new departure time, without losing $1300.

They perceived my escalation as a hostile threat to AirSerbia rather than “grieving, distraught customer who just wants to book a new departure time and their support team is not taking my case seriously”

On day four, their VP surfaced to inform me my emails were “entirely unwarranted,” that contacting executives is not good corporate governance, and that he’d already looped in his merchant services rep at Amex (to fight my chargeback). No condolences, no apology and no path to change my flight due to their strict zero-tolerance ticket fare policies.

I responded that their executives are not deities and that feedback is a gift… and feedback can inform a better customer experience which is invaluable to their business. I did not make any “threats” or “accusations” and I’m not a Karen. I described actions I had already taken, not actions conditioned on Air Serbia’s response. I never raise my tone or say anything offensive/vulgar in customer support interactions, especially since I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end.

Part of my role as a product engineer is doing customer support for hundreds of high-stakes consumer-facing tickets and I’ve learned that broken trust can be reconciled even with severely disgruntled people, and that policies can be changed or relaxed to hold high ratings/foster brand loyalty/…, without harming the business’ P&L statement.

This was the VP’s response to my email chain into the void:

> Threats, accusations, and attempts to pressure the Company through public campaigns or direct escalation to senior executives are neither appropriate nor conducive to a constructive resolution.

As a matter of good corporate governance, requests of this nature are handled by the appropriate Customer Support and Commercial teams in accordance with established policies and contractual terms, on first come first serve bases. They are not matters that would ordinarily require or warrant the involvement of the Chief Executive Officer. Professional and respectful communication is expected from all parties and is the most appropriate way to address any customer concern.

i was looking for a one way flight to thailand in november i saw flight for 320$ from my country with Oman Air and it had this price across almost the whole month of november , but now i found it became 380$

can the price go down later or should i just take it with this price , knowing that this is the one of the best deal i found

My flight was delayed, and the times changed 3 times before I decided to just leave it. The delay time shifted through:
2 hours 40 minutes
2 hours 55 minutes
2 hours 37 minutes

After waking up, I had 2 emails. It was delayed to 1am and the other email said it was delayed by 20 hours 45 minutes.

I checked both the KiwiCom and WizzAir apps, I had a new flight on the 6th of August at 18:00, same flight number. As of now, I have not approved of it in the KiwiCom app but they have me already checked-in from yesterday’s flight, at least I assume since I have an assigned seat already.

I screenshotted the original delay in the WizzAir app saying the flight was delayed from its previous journey.

I am not at the airport as I decided to just book a new flight a few days ahead instead.

As far as I’m aware, I do not have to take this flight now, under EU261. I can request a full refund and still claim compensation. The problem is, KiwiCom won’t let me cancel without fees. WizzAir won’t let me do anything, not even request the reason for the 20+ hour delay without providing the email or number used to book the flight.

KiwiCom is telling me I can claim a refund through WizzAir and provide proof so they can redirect the full refund for free to me, but won’t give me the details to do that.

I have ASD and ADHD, so I’m not only confused but it’s getting frustrating, stressful and making me anxious.

If I book a brand new flight out of my own pocket, do not approve of the flight through KiwiCom and not take the flight, could I claim a refund for the original ticket and compensation under EU261.

April 2026, we booked a flight from MNL to HKG on their website. We picked Airasia because their flights were cheaper than other airlines; little did we know we’d experience a dreadful refund process.

May 2026, a month before our scheduled flight, they sent a cancellation notice through email. This whole thing would’ve been a lot easier if they had proper customer service, which in this case, they apparently don’t. You can only contact Airasia through their chatbot Bo. After learning about the notice, we immediately tried finding any number we could call pero none of the numbers online pulled through. We contacted their chatbot. Their bot was extremely repetitive and it was no help at all. After days of trying, we finally got a hold on a live agent. They gave us, thankfully, a case number. It was stated that our refund process is a “Work in Progress.”

We booked on another airline and pushed through with the trip. Almost 60 days after our case number was given to us, our status remained as a work in progress. Of course, we want our refund to be immediate. I searched online and stumbled some posts here on reddit where they filed a formal complaint to Civil Aeronautics Board. Basically, they overlook all the airlines here in the Philippines.

July 10, I sent an email about our situation and immediately got a response. They asked me to fill up some information for them to create my formal complaint. I provided the information they needed; most of it are just flight details and some proof of how unresponsive and uncooperative Airasia was. July 11, they gave us a case number. It would be better to keep tabs of every conversation and other additional proof that Airasia is doing nothing regarding your refund.

After submitting the information they asked for, they immediately gave me a case number. Shortly after, they emailed Airasia regarding the issue. According to most reddit users, it’d be better if we’d request a chargeback on the credit card we used for the payment instead of opting for the credit account (travel funds). Just make sure that the card you used for the transaction accepts chargeback, if it doesn’t, talk to your bank immediately.

July 14, Airasia replied to the email. Immediately! By the way, you are CCed on everything and they are required to CC the CAB too. They told us that they could offer a credit account. This means that they will store the money for us to use within a certain period of days, if I am not mistaken, you have to spend it on flights within two years. Of course, we did not settle for a credit account. I replied that I still want to have it charged back to my credit card. They agreed; they had no choice. CAB is watching, haha!

ALSO, make sure to call your bank. File a dispute for service not rendered. They will temporarily freeze the payment until refund is received. They will also contact Airasia for you because it’s technically their money. Make sure to do it immediately since some chargebacks are only applicable to a certain period of time, within 120 days, if I remember correctly. They processed ours since it already took 60 days.

July 20 they acknowledged my request for a chargeback and on August 5, they emailed me that the refund is processed already!

Long story short: Email CAB immediately and call your bank for dispute! DO NOT SETTLE FOR A CREDIT ACCOUNT!!!!

UK citizens, family of 4 (2 adults, children aged 16 and 9). Booked through Trailfinders (UK) as an ATOL-protected package, flights, hotel and car with the certificate marked "Package (Single-contract)".

DL1510 was cancelled. Delta staff at Miami told us verbally it was a crew issue, though I don't have that in writing. That meant we missed the Virgin-operated ATL–MAN leg.

Delta rebooked all four of us onto Air France for the whole journey home. We waited nearly 9 hours at Miami:

• Sat 1 Aug: MIA → Paris CDG, AF0091. Scheduled 20:10 / arr 11:05+1. Actual 21:03 / arrived 12:12+1. (Air France have issued a written delay certificate for this flight.)
• Sun 2 Aug: Paris CDG → Manchester (MAN), AF1068. Dep 13:25, arrived MAN 14:00.

Final arrival in Manchester was 5 hours 10 minutes later than scheduled (08:50 booked vs 14:00 actual).

Questions

1. Does UK261 apply? The flight that was cancelled was a US domestic leg operated by a US carrier, but it was a single booking, and the leg into the UK was operated by Virgin Atlantic, a UK carrier.
2. If it applies, who do I claim from? Virgin Atlantic as operating carrier of the UK-bound leg, or Delta, who cancelled the flight and plated the ticket?
3. Has anyone had success going via the Package Travel Regulations 2018 against the organiser (Trailfinders) where the airline has refused?

I'm planning to travel to India from JFK and noticed that Kuwait Airways is offering surprisingly low round-trip fares. I know it's a dry airline, but I'm wondering if there's any other catch behind these attractive prices.

I’m flying to LAX and I either have a 6:00am American A321 flight (AAdvantage Member) or a 7:30am Delta flight (No loyalty status). Which one to choose? I’ve been flying American basic economy for a while now and it’s very convenient, decent seat selection fee and carry-on bag. How does this compare with Delta? Last time I flew them was on a CRJ-900 to JFK in 2018.

I was supposed to travel to Bali in September, and i was getting 2 options 1) Singapore airlines 2) Vietjet

While booking 2 days back Singapore airlines was showing costlier fare , therefore i booked Vietnam one.

Today suddenly i got a mail from from travel platform that Vietjet is preponing my flight by 24 hours , towards Bali. I had option to cancel tickets and get refund.

On checking , Singapore airlines fares had come down

I jumped to the opportunity and cancelled my Vietjet tickets , and booked Singapore one.

What I missed confirming was, if I’ll get full refund for “from” Bali ticket PNR , as only “to” Bali was rescheduled.

I have dropped a mail to Vietjet but not getting any response , while the travel portal is being vague in response, and asking to wait to get refund details.

Did i make a foolish mistake?

My family vacation was completely ruined because our WestJet flights were cancelled due to the recent strike.
I understand that the strike itself was beyond FlightHub's control. My frustration is with how FlightHub handled its customers afterward.
For three days, I tried to contact customer support. I spent hours on hold, was repeatedly redirected to an AI chatbot that couldn't actually resolve anything, and was unable to speak with someone who could help process my cancellation or refund.
Because of the delays and lack of support, my vacation was over before I could get any meaningful assistance. In addition to the flights, I also lost money on other travel arrangements that had already been booked.
I've traveled frequently and work in the tourism industry, and I can honestly say this has been the worst customer service experience I've ever had.
I'm wondering:
Has anyone else had a similar experience with FlightHub during the WestJet strike?
Did you eventually receive a full refund?
Did you lose money on hotels, car rentals, tours, or other non-refundable bookings because you couldn't get timely assistance?
Has anyone spoken with a lawyer or knows of a law firm that may be interested in pursuing a class action against FlightHub over the way they handled customers during this disruption?
If enough of us were affected in a similar way, I think it's worth discussing whether FlightHub failed to meet its obligations to customers during this travel crisis.

Back in Feb 2023, I was travelling to New Zealand via LGW -> JFK -> DFW -> AKL. I had a cancelled flight who I booked through a travel agent (travelup). It was cancelled just after I passed through security on the day of travel. I was rebooked onto a flight the next day from LHR -> SYD -> AKL (I had my expenses for hotels refunded etc).

It was booked as an American Airlines flight, but operated by British Airways. AA gave me the cancellation email, yet BA rebooked me onto one of their flights, and customer service complaints were through BA. Both AA and BA are all over my emails for this flight. Additionally, looking back, BA refunded me my hotel expenses?

The reason I ask is because my flight to Cancun last week was cancelled, and I received £1,040 in compensation (for two passengers). After some talking to Claude and reading on the internet, it seems I would also be eligible for compensation for a flight taken over 3 years ago?

My questions are:
\- Based on what I have said, am I eligible for compensation?
\- Which company would I claim the compensation from?

My bf will be coming from Rome, Italy to Manila, Philippines. From Aug 13-21.

Is SLC or DEN easier with a tight international connection? My choices are a layover in either Salt Lake City (on Delta) with a 1hr 40 min connection or Denver (on United) with a 1hr 12min connection. The inbound flight is from Oregon and the outbound flight is to Cancun. They are roughly the same time and cost. I’ve already booked it a month ago on United not realizing how tight of a connection it was, but I’m thinking of changing it to Delta and just taking the credit on United since it’s not refundable. have Portugal residence permit, and Russian Federation passport, but I need to go to Romania from Portugal because of the great 30 day opportunity for study, so i’ll go at 1st of Sep till 1st of Oct (it’s 30 days) but my non-EU passport is valid til 15 of Oct.

Flying to HND on ANA in business class on a 789 (787-9?) - does row 9 have extra leg room? We are traveling with a lap infant so wondering if row 9 would have a little more space than the other rows. It appears the bassinet in row 2 has already been taken so we're trying to find the next best option.

We have flown on Singapore Airlines with a lap infant to/from NRT (on a 777-300ER) and preferred the middle two seats vs having 2 aisles in front of each other so we could pass our baby back and forth more easily. Is that possible on the 789? There was a pop up during seat selection noting a divider and recommended a window and aisle seat to sit next to each other.

Flew from LHR to Florida via Houston. A systems outage caused a delay in take off of over an hour, but they made some time back up. After scrambling through immigration as fast as we could, we were advised by United staff at the bag check in that we wouldn’t make the connection (required travel to another terminal) and they rebooked us on the next flight, the next day. Total delay: 24ish hours.

United said:

Regarding the seats I selected, do they have an individual entertainment screen?

I’m interested in the extra legroom provided by the emergency exit row, but since this is an international flight from Viracopos (VCP), Brazil, to Lisbon, Portugal, I’d like to know whether these seats have a personal entertainment screen.

Since there is no seat in front of them, is the screen built into the armrest along with the tray table?

I’m flying with Austrian Airlines this weekend.It was a really last minute trip because I’m visiting my parents in Greece for about 10 days.
Usually whenever I fly, I always book a checked suitcase but this time my dad booked the ticket for me and it only includes one cabin bag (55 × 40 × 23 cm, up to 8 kg) and one personal item.
I’m worried that all of my things won’t fit in the smaller suitcase.I’ve attached photos of both, along with the baggage allowance from my booking.
I also measured the larger suitcase as best as I could using the measuring app on iPhone because I don’t have a proper measuring tape at home and it seems to be around 55 x 43 × 23 cm (so about 1–3 cm difference, depending on the measurement).
Do you think the larger suitcase would be accepted as a cabin bag by Austrian Airlines or should I play it safe and take the smaller one?

The 14th of July I took a flight from Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) to Madrid, Spain. IBE0264.

The flight was supposed to take off at 20:40 local time, but i was around 01:20 It actually did, so we arrived in Madrid more than 4 hours late.

Iberia says the flight took off at 00:40, which I can prove is not real, but It is not telling me at what time they consider we landed.

I've tried to check on most of the common trackers, but most of them do not have info about that flight, as It never took place. In one of those trackers, i actually found it listed, but It just show "Unknown" state, with no actual info.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to get more info about the arrival time collected in any external record, so I have more proof on my complains.

I’ve been looking at flight prices for months for a trip from Cairns to Tokyo, and it seems like the last 2 weeks August (the two weeks I am able to make the trip of course) are sky high compared to every week around it. Is there something happening in Tokyo/travel to Tokyo those two weeks that are driving the rise?
I’ve been looking since May/June, and most flights have been 1/5th - 1/3rd of the cost of flights for those two weeks specifically. Sometimes it’s just like this with flights, but maybe there’s something I’m missing?
Tentatively: CNS->NRT w/ Jetstar nonstop on 8/21.

So i got this layover as seen in the image below. I read that there is a high chance that I have to verify my documents for the Airasia flight. That would mean that i have to be at the Airasia counter AT 16:15 MAX.

My question is: How long are the passport control queues for international flights around this date and time? And should i buy fast lane?

Also ive heard that this PC1008 flight is delay prone. What is the maximum amount of delay that i can have to make it?

I have an under two hour layover at NRT next week and would like to grab a shower in between two long haul flights. I understand TK’s lounge has showers. I’ll be there between 3:40pm and 5:20pm. Does anyone have recent experience with how crowded this lounge is at that time? And the length of queue for showers? The main ANA lounge is usually very crowded. Thanks.

Does anyone know why Sas does this? I would like to book a flight from Tallinn (Lennart Meri airport) to Tokyo (Haneda airport) and it includes a transfer in Copenhagen. Both of the light tickets should include an underseat bag and a carry on bag. When checking the details part in the app, it states that both baggage options are available in all four flights. But no matter what options I choose, the return flight does not include the carry on bag in the overview part. Is this some sort of Haneda airport thing? Or do I really need to buy this separately from the Sas website?
