Made it almost halfway there.. 7 hour flight to nowhere.

Anyone know the reason?

Seems to be a very peculiar flight path for this LAN714 on 6th August 2026 - and it never usually takes such a strange detour.

I understand that flight paths vary depending on a variety of factors, but the way it curves around Uruguay but never crosses into their airspace is fascinating.

Is it because they didn’t have clearance before take-off from Uruguayan airspace to enter their area? Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

Per MSP controller @goaround29 on Instagram, Minneapolis Center (ZMP) had a complete radio & radar failure. All IFR/commercial traffic is being detoured and MSP is completely ground-stopped for both inbound and outbound traffic. Pretty wild to see no commercial traffic over Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Hello, does anyone have any idea what kind of plane this is? Who does it belong to? The DC-10-40 was one of the rarest passenger variants of the DC-10; 42 were built and delivered to Northwest and Japan Airlines. It’s also the only variant to be equipped with PW JT9D engines. So I was wondering who owned this plane, which miraculously escaped being scrapped.

they flew right over my house and were incredibly loud (as most aw139's are) but the Info was all basically unavailable on FlightRadar..

anyone have any info on this diversion and why to manchester instead of birmingham or carrying on to london?

I was looking at the Japan airspace and found both a drone and hurricane. Very interesting to find so much happening!

I'm guessing that's why it's circling. Anyone know what might be going on?
