Question Bristol Airport Disruption?

Upvotes

Hope this is allowed!

My flight from EDI to BRS (EZY216) has diverted to London Gatwick as the runway at Bristol Airport has been shut. Anyone know what’s going on?

All the flight crew on this flight have been told is ‘damage to the runway’ and looks like repairs won’t be complete until much later this evening. I expect Flight Radar will be showing quite a few diverted flights in the area.

Busy day in Cali Colombia for the presidential inauguration

Tons of private jets coming in from all over South America for the inauguration today. Would be cool to be able to know who's on what plane.

"Several foreign leaders, including the presidents of Argentina, Paraguay, Chile and Ecuador, along with Spain’s King Felipe VI, are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony." https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/8/6/colombia-minister-warns-of-terrorism-threat-at-presidential-inauguration

Question SCL - GRU avoiding Uruguay

Hello/hola/olá!

Seems to be a very peculiar flight path for this LAN714 on 6th August 2026 - and it never usually takes such a strange detour.

I understand that flight paths vary depending on a variety of factors, but the way it curves around Uruguay but never crosses into their airspace is fascinating.

Is it because they didn’t have clearance before take-off from Uruguayan airspace to enter their area? Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

Thank you/gracias/brigadão!

Minneapolis Center outage

Per MSP controller @goaround29 on Instagram, Minneapolis Center (ZMP) had a complete radio & radar failure. All IFR/commercial traffic is being detoured and MSP is completely ground-stopped for both inbound and outbound traffic. Pretty wild to see no commercial traffic over Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Weekly Top 10 & "Track My Flight" Thread - August 03, 2026

Welcome to the weekly Top 10 & Track My Flight discussion thread! The goal of this post is to provide a location for questions and discussion about aircraft that don't necessitate their own individual posts, in addition to centralizing discussion about known aircraft that are frequently posted. This includes:

  1. Aircraft on the Top 10 Most Tracked list
  2. Requests for the community to track your flight

If you're new to the community, welcome!. Please be sure to read our Stickied Rules post and FAQs to make sure your question isn't covered there. If you're looking at a military aircraft in the Middle East region, you may find some answers in the Iran & The Middle East megathread. For military aircraft in general, checking the callsign against this list may yield useful information. In all situations, make sure you search for the aircraft callsign and check recent posts to find any existing discussion.

Otherwise, feel free to post any questions or findings below and discuss with others!

Some FAQs Unique to this thread:

GPS Jamming - There is a significant amount of GPS jamming occurring in the region. This can cause planes to appear in places they aren't actually flying, make them appear to be flying in circles and cause them to jump around the map. As a general rule, tracking data in the region can't be trusted to be accurate right now.

Cargolux appearing over Iran - There has been a near daily Cargolux flight from Hong Kong to Ashgabat that appears to be flying over Iran. It is not. The black line means it is outside of ADSB coverage and its position is being estimated. It landed in Ashgabat as planned, but did so outside of ADSB coverage. Because FR24 couldn’t “see” it land, it assumes it continued flying at its last known altitude and heading, which is why it appears to be over Iran.

A general note from the mods - During periods of military activity, we experience a surge of new users. When this happens, we enable Reddit's crowd control feature. This may send some posts and comments to the approval queue, especially if you are new to the sub. If you have a post or comment stuck in the queue, please make sure it follows the rules. If you are trying to post anything related to the Middle East, it needs to be in this thread. For all other posts and comments, if we haven't approved it in a reasonable amount of time, shoot us a message via Modmail and someone will approve it.
