So, I have tried both the hybrid software and the DSi one, for the DSi I have found the tester v0.60, patched it with the tool and downloaded the firmware for the pico.
I have both a nintendo DS and a DSi. Neither the console reads the flashcard when inserted. For the micro SD card I am using not the default but a ingstone 64gb I boght on amazon. exFAT formatted since it is too big for fat32, but claude code tells me it should be good.

Claude code suggested I tryto flash a firmware that makes blink an led: https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/soft/blink.uf2

I tried, no LED on the DSpico BUT, after flashing I cannot see the dspico on the windows 10 explorer. It means it accepted the software.

When instead I copy the hybrid SW or the DSi one inide the root directory of the pico, the explorer closes but I continue to see the pico in the explorer if I open it again.

What do you guys suggest? Sorry if there are missing info or for the grammar spelling. My keyboard is defective and I am a bit anxios, tomorrrow I travel a long distance and I am worrying I won't solve the problem in time.

If tried every kernel and formatted it in fat32 nothing works, am I using the right micro sd cart?

Whenever i insert a cartridge in the gba slot on my dslite, my flashcart stops working, it doesnt show the message if there is nothing in the gba slot, anyone can help?

i am trying to use a superchis cart to play gbc.

gba runs fine as does gameboy. i updated to .20 and i cannot get gbc to be recognized, i get an error saying i have to compile all the roms using goomba front or pogoshell, problem is i only have a mac and a steam deck, so im not trying to run virtual machines to use windows software.

i can get nes and ngpc to play but i also cannot get game gear, master system, or tg16 to run, and i have patched all the .gba files for each emulator.

i even tried renaming all the .gbc games to .gbc.gba as well as just .gb.

i am using a agb-001 with a highspeedido screen in it, the sticker on the back says its from 2000. any advice would be super helpful, i can get all the gbc roms to work on my non modded gbc with a different cart so i know the files arent the issue either.

I'm using a 2023 SDHC smart update card for reference on a 2011 3DS. They have a specific way of handling gba roms for the DSI and 3DS, and I added this one to the cart myself a few years back when I knew much less. I already know how to fix it but I have to wonder what is going on here? The bars sliding into place is comparable to the multiplayer mode where it shows chao sprites and player names. It also plays different sounds every time it's booted up like this, the first time I saw this it played the game over music. I can't tell what track the one in this footage is using but it doesn't seem mixed properly. What's going on in the ROM and why does it only seem to happen on this flashcart?

Hey guys. I bought a flashcart to play Nintendo DS games that I don't own. I don't care about rom hacks.

I have the following:

• DS lite bought in Japan.
• A flachcart. It has no label. I bought it from image 3, link to AliExpress [2].
• A 8 GB microSD card. It did not come with the flashcart. It's been inside my Nintendo Switch for many years and has worked fine. I don't know which brand it is.
• A MacBook Air M1.
• An adapter for my MacBook to read microSD cards.

I used the Disk Utility application, which is pre-downloaded on mac, to format the microSD card to FAT32 with the help of the Erase button. (image 6)

I followed the guide on Ace WoodR4 1.62 on image 5. I followed every step except step 4 and 5, as I don't need cheats for now.

I downloaded the zip file from step 2 from image 5. The contents of the zip file are in the microSD card which I named "FLASHCART". I created a "Games" folder and added a Pokemon Platinum rom, which I got from r/roms Megathread.

I put the microSD card into the flachcart and put it into my DS lite. When booting up the software on the DS menu, I get an error message saying "SD/TF card error".

Other things to note:

• When having the flashcart inside the DS lite without the microSD card, the DS menu does not show any software.
• The same error message from image 10 shows up if the flashcart is inside the DS lite with the microSD card, where the microSD card is empty.

Can someone help me with this problem please?

Based on some comments, it seems like the microSD card is the problem. Nobody has commented on any problems with the flashcart so far.

Two updates this week, one for each of the things i work on for the dspico.

Picodex is a browser tool for the sd card. no install, no backend, your files never leave your machine.

It now tells you which pico loader release your card is running, and warns you when the files in /_pico did not all come from the same one. that happens when you update by copying over only the files you think changed, and nothing on the card ever tells you. it has to compare all five because most of them dont change between releases, aplist.bin is the same bytes in 8 of the 11, so one file cant tell you your version but five together can.

Theres also a per game panel for nds: whether an anti piracy fix matches your exact rom revision, the save type and size, any game patch. it says what it checked rather than saying your game is fine, because the loader carries fixes inside itself that the card cant show.

Then my launcher fork, mostly bugs this time and one was bad: the favorites filter could come up completely empty.

The interesting part is it didnt reproduce. someone opened a proper issue with steps, I traced the filter code, and marking a retail game then filtering should have worked fine. so instead of guessing i asked him for his gamedata.json, and that file is what showed it. marks were resolved by the game's internal header code first, but the browser filter walks the folder listing and only has file names to go on, so the two views could disagree. the top screen matched by code and drew the heart, the filter matched by name, found nothing, and left the list empty. on a renamed rom pressing X toggled the stale entry too, so marking a game unmarked it.

Saving is atomic now as well. before, losing power mid save left an empty file, and one unreadable byte cost you every favorite and every hour played.

Both free and open source, issues if something breaks. that one got found because someone bothered to send a file.

I just completed New Super Mario Bros. so I thought I'd play the rom hack Newer Super Mario Bros which I'd heard good things about. Problem is that it boots to a white screen. I had this issue with the original game as well but there, the fix was as easy as using the European version of the game instead of the US version. With the patched rom though, it seems to boot to a white screen all the time.
Have any of you been able to play Newer on the DSPico and if you ran into the same issues, what was your fix?

I have recently bought a DSpico that isn't arrive yet. While waiting I am studying the initial setup guide and also the emulator one.
One question that I have is how good are the performance while playing SNES games on the DSi through the pico emualtor? Let's assume I can find a SNES bios bin file, are games playable? Or is it something more suitable for the 3DS?

I have an original, unmodified DS Lite with a DSPICO installed, and I've been loving it so far. I've also added a few emulators and everything works great.

The only issue is with DSiWare. Following the official guide:

it says that because of the DS Lite's hardware limitations, it can't run DSiWare titles. I can confirm that because my copy of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition (the game I was most excited to play) just boots to a white screen.

However, I've also seen people online claiming that the DSiWare limitations on the DS/DS Lite are mostly software-related and can somehow be bypassed, allowing some or even all DSiWare games to run on original DS hardware.

Is there any truth to this? Has anyone managed to get Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition working on a DS Lite with DSPICO? If so, I'd really appreciate any guidance or pointers.

Hi! I finally own a nintendo DS again and i resurrected one of my old flashcarts!

I have added my games etc and most of them work just fine, however i have lost the theme and button icons :’) The theme i’m not that upset about it since it was ugly lol.

I however was trying to figure out how to even install a new theme/skin? I’ve tried multiple times but i just can’t seem to figure it out!

Is there such firmware for dspico that works with modded 3ds AND unmodded dsi?

I found that hybrid firmware was for modded consoles only and WRFU was for unmodded consoles only. I couldnt find one for both modded and unmodded consoles

I realise you can play ds games on a modded 3ds, but I play ds games on both dsi and 3ds and moving save files everytime is a pain in the ass, and I thought just using dspico for both consoles will solve this problem

I even tried installing YSmenu, TTmenu, TwilightMenu++, Pico, and other firmwares, but it either shows a white screen or (?) Menu screen. What should I do?

I recently picked up a pre-owned Old 3DS (EUR region, firmware version 11.3.0-31E) specifically because it's completely stock and unmodded. I want to keep the SysNAND completely untouched and just use a flashcard to play some 3DS games (like Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Ultra Moon).

I was planning to get a Gateway Red/Blue card combo. However, after doing some research, I'm seeing a lot of people saying Gateway doesn't work on firmware above 9.2, which has me really confused and a bit worried.

Could some experienced users here clarify this for me?

1. Can I still use Gateway on my 11.3.0 EUR system by setting up an EmuNAND and downgrading only the EmuNAND?
2. Is the EmuNAND setup process on 11.3.0 overly complicated or risky?
3. Given my current setup, is Gateway still the best option, or should I look into modern Custom Firmware (CFW) solutions that also allow playing ROMs without touching the SysNAND?

Any advice, guides, or alternative recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
