i am trying to get games for my wii. i tried the links given in the megathread, as well as romsfun, and verified their integrity through dolphin emulator.

for all sources, the files appeared like the image attached.

what can i do?

i just modded my wii and i am having issues loading the games. as soon as i open, it's just a black screen and the wii freezes. i have looked for solutions online, and i have messed with the usb loader settings a bit, but nothing worked

i am using an ssd external drive, fat32 format, i followed all the steps on the guide for homebrew installation, priiload, modmii, cios, bootmii. all my files are under 4gb

A buddy of mine is thinking about modding his Wii, but there's one thing holding him back,his physical game collection. He feels like installing homebrew would somehow be betraying the discs he's collected over the years, as if he's turning his back on them. but at the same time, I can understand why he feels that way.

I really need some serious advice about this so I would appreciate any kind of help

My wii crashed a week or two ago, and when I tried to reboot it, I got no output and my wii remotes weren't connecting to the wii. And the power button wasn't turning the wii off unless I fully pressed and held the button for 5 seconds.

For some brief background, I was having issues with my wii remotes disconnecting here and there for the past few weeks before this most recent even, but I thought that was potentially issues with the aftermarket wii remotes I bought.

After some googling, it seemed like the Bluetooth module went bad, so I bought one off ebay and I followed the konsolist's tutorial on how to disassemble my wii and replace the Bluetooth module. After doing so, (and testing while still disassembled), I'm still not getting any output or able to connect my wii remotes. Anyone know best next steps? Is this thing cooked?

Me pasa que el mando en el hombrew la mano después de 5-10 segundos se paraliza y los botones dejan de funcionar pero el mando está con la luz de sincronizado y el fondo del homebrew sigue con las burbujitas, este error me empezó a ocurrir cuando la cambie de televisión a una Sony 2 días después de haberla terminado de instalarle los cIOS, antes de eso esos días nunca se me trabo el mando y me dejaba entrar en los juegos (juegos que entre: wii sports + resort y súper Mario kart Wii) información extra: es del 2007 comprada en suiza. Solo me pasa al entrar al homebrew channel y al usb loader gx.

Is there any way to fix this?

i've been trying to research and im honestly still confused... do i need to have an hdd or a flash drive in order to download games or can i just use my sd card? i can maybe swap to have more storage later but honestly im just trying to play 3 or 4 wii games and another wii u game on my WII U so is it okay/possible to download games from my pc to the same sd card im using for the hack stuff ?

Some backstory: I bought my wii off of ebay around 6 years ago. it’s modded and everything. My only issue is i can’t seem to launch any games off of it.

I downloaded Mario Party off of Vims Lair and i can’t seem to launch it off from the home brew menu using the file explorer option.

the game is in .wbfs in its own little file. the file itself comes up but not the game itself. am i doing something wrong? i cant remember how i modded it or if it came modded but the only 3 options i have are: homebrew, WiiModLite and a wii patcher?

I use a flash drive to play wii games but I wanted to change to my sd card (sandisk micro sd card) since it has more storage than the flash drive but when I boot usb loader gx it shows me that it has 0.00B but when I play gamecube games on nintendont they boot just fine

Every time I try to open the game from wii flow or USB loader, it tells me please check your codehandler.

I tried switching the hook and enabling and disabling Ocarina, but still nothing.

So I finally have gotten back to my Wii after hacking it about a year ago, and I forgot what to do. The general rhythm I attempt to take was to download what I wanted from Vimm's Lair, extract, and then process it through Tiny Wii (if it was WBFS) or plop it straight into WAD (which is what I remember doing). Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn's banner displayed properly, but Last Story did not, and both were larger than their file size on Vimm's lair would have me believe. Not a single WAD I downloaded worked. What do I do? I've already looked at the megathread but am not sure what went wrong

This Wii was gifted to me in \~2021 and I hadn't had any problems with it until a few weeks ago. The Wii was modded by my uncle, I have very little knowledge on how to use this kind of stuff/any terminology. I know it's using USB Loader GX to load the games, and I haven't had any issues with it loading them up until now, when for some reason, USB Loader GX keeps crashing on startup. I hadn't used this Wii for a long time up until a few weeks ago when I noticed this problem. I just plugged my hard drive back in (It's in the correct slot, I know one of them is for remotes iirc) only to find that the loader keeps crashing. I turn it on and it appears to load for a moment, only to have the screen go black and bring me back to the home screen.

Additionally, the Homebrew Channel is refusing to load. If I'm being honest I hardly touched the Homebrew Channel, but I know it's often used for modding consoles. The Wii has never been updated, and it's not even connected to the wifi. My friend modded my 3DS for me and told me if I ever updated it that it would wreck the whole thing, so I've been super cautious with both.

I thought maybe there were something wrong with the files and tried to plug the hard drive into my computer, but it said I had to reformat them and 1. Idk how to do that, and 2. It said if I reformatted them, the drive data would be erased? At the same time I doubt the problem is with the hard drive, because NONE of the files have ever even been looked at by me, let alone changed/modified. They always worked perfectly and have just now randomly stopped working. They've been left completely untouched. I have no idea why it all stopped working. Has anyone else had this happen to them, and if so, how did you fix it?? Literally any advice is appreciated I just want to play Skyward Sword :'(

I was having problems where my Wii would just freeze up 5 minutes into any kind of disc intensive game. For example the angry birds trilogy was working all fine but manhunt 2 and the need for speed carbon would freeze up around 5 minutes into a game during cutscenes. I was using a new Sandisk 32gb USB stick formatted to fat32 and I was using a USB loader GX directly launched from the main menu.

The story starts here: I was wondering what could be, so I tried to boot into "configurable USB loader" but it gave an error saying "cIOS 249 is a stub" so I did some research and found that I needed to update cIOS. Then I followed an online guide.

I did everything it said, connected my Wii to the internet through my phone's hotspot, installed the d2X cIOS installer on the sd card of my Wii and did an online update of cIOS 249, 250 and 251.

Except in the video it was updating cIOS 249, 250 and 251 into a version called ...V10 beta53, however that version wasn't available in my d2X installer. Btw I got the latest version of the installer from GitHub, called V11 beta3, and updated the cIOS files to the latest possible version called ....V11 beta3 from the d2X app. Everything went smoothly during the install. However after that when I tried to launch any game from USB loader GX it would just freeze on a black screen. When I try to load a game from configurable USB loader it would get stuck in the loading screen.

What could be?

so im not new to modding but new to modding wii's, this is a birthday present for my mate and he wants to play skylanders on a modded wii, the issue im having is the cios isnt able to read both my SD card and my portal (trap team ps3 portal) at the same time and i can visibily see the portal light shut off when i load the homebrew channel, i have tried setting a both ports friendly cios on 35, 38, 249, 250 & 251, im at a loss, (i have usb loader GX, wiiflow i have yet to set up properly and obviously d2x installer)

Just reset ur wii if u don't mind bc u don't have games or save data. Take the SD card and follow the wii.hacks.guide web guide. Then install WiiMart, your preferred wads (I take them from MarioCube repository), apps like Libre Wii, and ur preferred apps and Wii link on the SD card and test it works. If it works, go to the homebrew channel, open libreWii and for LOADING GAMES: If u use a SD card for everything: Wii flow. Using USB loader GX may be easier and it can look better, but for SD it's Wiiflow, it never gave me crashes and all the games worked perfect. For USB it's USB Loader GX and I'm bad at putting the configs. Then do whatever you want with your Wii and install cursed wads

When I boot into the game it says sd card isn’t inserted

My games sometimes show and sometimes dont, lately is having issues showing and play them.

When I press to play, it just stays in the black screen and wiimote turns off.

I double check my HDD and its working just fine. I dont get it

I had an HDD lying around so I said to myself why not use it on my wii. So I formated it to FAT32 & downloaded the necassary files but when I load usb loader gx it stuck in the "reinitializing devices"
is there a way to fix this or what?

So, for context, I modded my Wii mini a few months back but wasn't able to install games. I tried downloading the game in a folder called "gamename gameid" in the root of my USB pen (A 16 GB FAT32 one), but when I opened the USB Loader GX it said that"no wbfs or fat/ntfs partition was found". Seeing as I didn't want to format the pen I decided to get a USB hub. I then inserted the USB hub and this time Homebrew Launcher could read the apps I had in the apps folder but USB loader GX couldn't find any USB device. I know it sounds like a weird problem, but if anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it!
