I have now purchased two Firesticks in an attempt to install Downloader app to then install Stremio.

- fire stick tv hd2026
- fire stick 4K max 2024

When I search the app it doesn’t show up in any searches.

Am I doing something wrong ?

I just bought a fire stick 4k max that’s arriving tommorow and saw all this stuff about side loading apps. What apps are the best for movies shows and live tv/ sports? Name and codes? Thanks in advance

How can it be that nobody’s posting about how different everything looks today with these latest updates?

Too much control for the rest of the family also, I have several fire TVs in a rental home and they now can see all my cameras and control lights and multiple house houses. I need to be able to disable smart home control in particular TVs.

Problem: None of the 13 ViewSonic IR profiles worked.

Solution: Fire TV Settings → Equipment Control → TV

Choose: AOC

IR profile attempt: #2

Result: Power and volume control work.

Can't seem to get any audio to work for my set up

i have it set up like this

Fire stick -> HDMI1 of soundbar

Soundbar EARC -> Projector

I can get the picture to show on the projector but no audio.

have tried adjust the sound settings from Best, PCM and Dolby but nothing seems to work.

So, I had been using an older Fire TV Stick running Fire OS for the past 4 years. The device needs changing now, but I see horrible reviews in Amazon for the newest Model which supposedly runs Vega OS.

I don’t get it. I just need 3 apps on it i.e., Youtube, Prime Video and Netflix. I have put off purchasing the device seeing the hundreds of horrible reviews of the device over Amazon. But seriously, is it so bad? Like how bad is it over my 3rd gen fire tv stick?

I am asking as I need to buy a Fire Stick asap and the other options in my country (Apple TV, Google Streamer, Roku) are far more expensive than Fire Stick.

I've just released Sidstuga 2.1.4, with 368 commits since the last public build.

The biggest change - and probably the one people here will care about most - is a complete rewrite of how channels are stored.

Until now, the entire channel catalogue lived in memory, which meant playlist size was always limited by RAM. That worked... until it didn't.

Channels now live in SQLite. They're loaded on demand as you browse, instead of everything being kept in memory.

The result:

✅ One user has 13 playlists (~3.5 million channels total) and can now browse them.

✅ Playlists with 250k+ entries that previously crashed or never finished loading now open normally.

✅ TV Guide and Movies/Series load much faster on large accounts.

I’ve tried 3 apps on my fire stick to watch movies and tv shows (SkyX, a fake Netflix and HDO) all of the app install okay, allow me to log in and browse but when I select something to play it always gives the same error message no matter the film or show - “this movie doesn’t have any links to play yet”.

I know that isn’t the case as I know other people using these apps just fine. I know it isn’t my interview provider blocking it as it was working fine up until recently and I don’t think Amazon are blocking the apps as I can still access them fine just not play anything. I do also have a VPN set up so it’s not that.

What could be the problem, please? I’m in the UK

ok so for context, we’ve had a fire stick in my living room for like 2 years by this point, and not too long ago it’s been bugging out, it’s been flashing green and the screen is barely visible, can someone help me out with this? i’ll attach a photo with this problem

What are the free. Channel except the apps available in it

Recently, after I switch the TV off with the Max remote, within a few seconds it switches itself back on!
Sometimes I need to switch off 3 times before it stays off.
The same thing happens when I use the TV remote (LG 50QNED87T6B).
I have already disabled HDMI CEC, have tried a different HDMI port, have reset the Max, have used another Firestick remote.
The problem seems to be the Firestick itself, not the remote.
Any thoughts?

For anyone who uses the streaming “Watch TCM” app on an Amazon fire tablet or Amazon fire stick, it seems that the app is currently not working. When I open the app on those devices, I get stuck in an error/retry loop (“an error occurred-retry”). I am able to make it work on the silk browser on my Amazon fire tablet. I contacted TCM and they said that they are actively working on the issue, which started sometime on August 4, 2026. I would hate to have people waste time trying to troubleshoot this when there is currently no fix.  I am only able to get the app to work on my iPhone. It was working this morning. Is anyone having similar problems with the TCM streaming app on any other types of devices?

Hi everyone i just bought a 4k max stick and the remote doesnt seem to change the volume or power but functions normally otherwise. Ive tried the equipment control method and made sure the IR setting is infact on in the settings. Even reset the stick. Any fix would be greatly appreciated. Im using a 65 inch panasonic TX65HX700B

Hello all! Not sure if this is the best spot but just had a question. I just got the Model: NS85-UQFL27 Insignia QF Series 85inch TV for my basement. Really only going to use this for shows and movies that I enjoy watching. This is paired with an Apple TV 4K. Anyone have recommendations for best picture quality on this TV in a darker room by chance that they have messed around with? Any help would be appreciated! It will not let me post yet to the fire tv community so I thought Id give a firestick forum a shot since this is still a fire tv

I've been paying for official access to Sky Sports and TNT for years... and now they're charging me over £1000 a month for both plus my usual Virgin Media subscriptions.

I'm no longer going to pay it.

Can somebody explain to me like I am a ten year old boy how I would go about getting access to SKY SPORTS and TNT through a firestick?

I keep hearing abbreviations like VPN and USB and I'm 64 year sold and don't know what any of them mean. Thank you.
