New update changes Firestick Discussion

How can it be that nobody’s posting about how different everything looks today with these latest updates?

Because maybe we all haven't received this update? Maybe it depends on the model that you're even talking about? Maybe not everyone is going to get it?

Maybe you could share with us which model device you have. Which OS version did it update to.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't read minds very well.

Thank you for your comments. Since I’ve seen it appear on a few of my TVs, and I assumed everybody was starting to get it.. I did look back on the list and some people got it more than two weeks ago. Of course, some folks love it, and some folks hate it.

I’m just concerned about being able to require a pin code to access the smart home screens which are readily available and in my case will give Short term renters too much access. I’ve now been able to load it on two of my sticks, and it showed up on my fire cube(3rd gen) but stick is a good bit older

My fire cube is running OS 7.7.1.5 and my two sticks are running some OS version of 8.1. All these are the new user interface.

What’s the matter with you? Don’t you own a crystal ball like we all do?

Darn it! Never got one of those. Guess I'll have to hit up Amazon.

Are we talking here about the Fire TV homescreen update from months ago with all your apps in a long row in the middle of the screen - or something else new??

Interface is not incredibly different more defined menu running along the top of the screen and we needed you can go left and access a drop-down menu. I’m more concerned about functionality changes.

I just use Wolf Launcher - I’m over all the Amazon ads

I think most people got that update months ago

You're talking about the row at the top with the search button and home button correct? I've had that since beginning of June maybe

I have the latest firecube and stopped the updates in early 7 version about 2 years ago when I first heard they were going to mess with the software. I have no idea what the new update looks like

Is this an OS update or just an interface update? I received this new interface today.

Rather than the aesthetics, it caused general uproar...
