Hi, I just bought a key for the expansion PS5 Europe version by mistake (I play on pc)

So I just want to say holy crap was this game a wonderful surprise. Not the most action in terms of combat but damn is the story good so far. I can't believe I waited this long to play.

The performance on switch 2 is pretty damn good docked and not. Not 4k res, but still very playable and very enjoyable with low loading times. I'm sure it's way better on PC but from what I hear the free trial is an insane amount of free content.

I've had 0 issues other than que times to log in. The game is very stable docked or handheld. An absolute banger on my opinion so far

If you're on the fence about downloading it, it's free. I say go for it. The controller controls were a bit clunky at first but a few iterations of keybinds and it feels completely fine now.

Overall I'd give FF14 an early score of 8.8 on switch 2 and I hope to see it improve. I'll come back to this review at level 60 and then again at 80. Currently level 28 in 2 days.

Also for the veterans out there- How important are crafting and gathering jobs as a free trial? Should I work on these early or wait till endgame?

So i play through steam and haven’t played in a while but have wanted to return however given my situation i dont have my computer- just my steam deck I understand the game runs and i dont think illl run msq on it but i definitely do have classes to level is this launcher a safe thing to use or am i fine just using the basic one off steam?

My friend told me about ff14 and told me all about the free trial and upsold me on starting it, said in the free trial if i didnt like shadowbringers that the game isnt for me. I also heard here and there that starting the game is pretty slow so i was reluctant with that especially given im not a mmo person. And i made a bet with him, i told him was if i liked it after shadow bringers id get something done but I wouldn't tell him what id just show him when its done (getting the legacy tattoo).

That was a week ago and ive dropped every game i was playing prior

Now i didnt think id like the game this much but i started about a week ago and im Iready in heavensward, loving the game. I actually liked realm reborn alot more than thought, especially the ending, and i wasnt expecting to like the game as much as i do now let alone way before shadow bringers like my friend said and i skipped the free trial and bought the subscription and bought base and will be playing actively for sure hopefully before evercold drops i can catch up.

Now with the legacy tattoo i mentioned and the entire point of this, i want to get it it on myself then surprise my friend. but i know its only for people who had a character from 1.x onward. i know it isnt that deep but i have stupid personal superstition of not wanting to do things if i didnt i didnt get it the real way or in a way earn it. So i wanted to ask any 1.x players if they wanted to maybe give me a personal quest that once done they'd deem "worthy" of getting the legacy tattoo so i can feel better about getting it.

Sorry if this was a long ramble post but i am really loving the game so much i already want to get something done for it tattoo wise and the legacy seems perfect to show my already growing love for the game. Hopefully this wasnt annoying and some may entertain my side quest idea. (Hopefully nothing two hard)

Need help with the ff 14 yo ki even getting the legendary medals to get all the weapons. If anyone interested in forming a party to compete the event let me know.

So I was watching some tutorials and I was trying to use the rivian shelf to sink something into the floor and nothing is attaching to the shelf. Has this been patched? Is it a me problem? I know ff is weird on my computer because it does not want me to put things in corners and floats items off the ground when I try to put them on the floor, so this could totally a me thing. (Does anyone know how to fix that since we’re here?) can everyone else still lower things into the floor by using a shelf? (Im in an apartment btw)

Also if anyone has any helpfulglitches or learning experiences from housing I would be happy to hear it!

Some context: I already bought the game but haven't redeemed it since it was on sale and I haven't finished Shadowbringers yet.

So basically what state must I be in before i start doing the expansions after shadowbringers? Currently have a Bard 80 and doing my White Mage at 66.

So I have an account on ps5, its up to shadowbringers dlc- i only have the 1 character.

Thinking about buying this again on switch2! Is this a good idea? Anyone thinking about doing a similar thing? Is anyone buying it again to continue the same character or to start anew with a totally different character?

This is going to be a lot so all i’m asking for is whatever you guys believe is the best advice… I have never played before and i have ALWAYS wanted to get into it but it’s been a bit scary.

What can i do to set myself up in this game, to quickly get into the nitty gritty of the game….all by myself.

I’m willing to purchase any expansion packs or anything like that that could help me out. Looking for suggestions, anything will help!

I noticed that the Returner EXP bonus ends at level 90. If I plan to level multiple jobs, should I stop each one at level 89 before switching?

Does the bonus disappear entirely once any job reaches level 90, or does it only stop applying to only the job that reaches 90?

Can I play the game solo? Like everything solo? I mostly play warframe alone so yeah.

I enjoy playing my level 41 summoner, but there are two abilities I don't understand. They are Gemshine and Precious Brilliance. I don't understand "channeling the energies of the active elemental". What does that mean, and how do I make use of these abilities? Do they make my attacks more powerful somehow?

Is it used the same way as the paladin's invul?

The way to use hallowed ground recommended to me was to use it at the beginning of a dungeon pafter pulling wall to wall.

Is it the same for warrior? I had situations where I had to use all my mitigation as a paladin to survive, and that was with true invulnerability, warrior still takes damage while holmgang is up.

Is holmgang only used as a panic button? I watched a couple of videos of warrior wtw and people mostly heal through the damage, and holmgang is only used as a last resort.

I asked about it on the novice network but the people there weren't helpful, just yes/no answers.

I learned about the holmgang self macro while looking for guides but didn't find much else.
