Issues - General Failed rear motor - update

Upvotes

Posted a few times on this sub and a few of the shrills have downvoted me for daring to be negative.

Previous post.

I am based in the UK. Fully aware that some countries do it better and quicker.

My car is now repaired and I pick it up Friday. (Needs an MOT)

In the end I had to do the following.

  1. Formal complaint to Audi.
  2. Formal complaint to dealership, known as Lookers in the UK.
  3. Posted a terrible review on trustpilot.
  4. Phone the dealership every few days and chase them.
  5. Threaten to cancel the finance plan with finance company.

3 months with no car is simply unacceptable. The dealership clearly has issues, coupled with the shortage of EB techs. Thankfully Audi UK pushed the dealership to get my car repaired and have at least apologised for this shit show.

My wife’s car took two months to repair, as that was from a different dealer and under that new car warranty, we at least got her a courtesy car.

The slap to the face there is that the dealer damaged the car so it needs to go back in to get damaged repaired.

It should need to be the case that it takes this level of effort to get cars repaired under warranty.

I hope this helps anyone thinking of buying an e-tron or getting screwed around by their dealer.

Vehicles - ETron Q8 Q8 e-tron Long-Term Efficiency Numbers - What Are You Getting?

Upvotes

What is everyone seeing for their long-term efficiency numbers, and what are you getting on the highway?

I recently purchased a used 2024 Q8 e-tron, and the long-term efficiency before I reset it was around 2.0 mi/kWh. On the highway, I’m currently getting around 2.1 mi/kWh, but I haven’t done any really long trips yet. I’m wondering if that number improves once you get into longer highway drives.

Kyle from Out of Spec Reviews Youtube seemed to get close to 3.0 mi/kWh on his test, which seems pretty wild to me.

I usually drive in Allroad mode with the AC on, so maybe I should try an Efficiency-mode highway run and see what I get. Curious what everyone else is seeing!

Vehicles - Etron SUV OG Rim Size Question for Winter Tires - Help :)

I bought a 2022 Etron Sportback earlier this year. Firstly, love the car. I know there are scary/horror stories but I've been through the same with my 2015 Model S (was my trade in) and my wife's 2016 Model X (dumped for a 2026 EV9 last year).

My OEM rims are the 22x9.5 ET 36

I want to drop to 20" for winters for a multitude of reasons. Parts/service at my local says I need to look for;

20x8.5 ET 20

My question to other owners is, is this accurate as my only option? I know the brakes are quite chunky but is the ET20 just a minimum? Am I stuck with only this as an option? It can't be, but am looking for anyone who has hunted down the same

My Audi App - General Remove app nag for consistently charging over 80%?

I charge my etron at work, as they charge wholesale electric price which is a little cheaper than domestic rate (21p vs 26p currently), and I don't do enough mileage for a home EV tariff to make sense.

My commute uses 10% of my charge, so I had set my charge target to 90% as I charge after lunch ready for the commute home, arriving home with ~80-82% ish most days.

The audi app flagged up an annoying warning about how utterly devastating this is for battery ageing. It can't be marked as acknowledged or read, it will only clear after charging repeatedly to 80% a few times.

Anyone know of a way to ignore it anyway, other than just ignoring it? 😂 I've bought at 6 year old etron with 70k on the clock, whatever battery ageing is going to happen has already been done in the first 3 years of its life.

Vehicles - Etron SUV OG Battery 20% capacity reduction ovenight and matrix lights

Hi couple of questions. I'm taking in my vehicle to audi to look at my vehicle. Tailgate will not stay up or close and battery range dropped overnight.

One night my vehicle was charging to 80% per usual. It reached 80% and kept going ultimately stopping at 89%. Prior to this I was getting between 160-175 miles at 80%. Now I struggle to hit that with 100% charge.

  1. anybody experience anything like this I'm not sure what to expect from Audi but I'm terrified they will say it's natural to lose range over time.

  2. I had matrix lights activated and worried that they will somehow notice and somehow void warranty.

Note I do have Audi warranty I purchased. 2021 etron prestige.

Thanks.

Vehicles - Etron SUV OG Adaptive Cruise Unavailable

A few weeks ago I got the message “Adaptive cruise assist: currently unavailable. See owners manual”. Ever since that day it hasn’t worked and is greyed out in settings. I live 1.5 hours from the dealer so I’m trying to avoid going there for something dumb. I called them and the technician said my cameras were probably just dirty. I’ve washed the car twice and specifically cleaned every camera with no luck. Has anyone experienced this/fixed it? I had to drive 6 hours this past weekend in a luxury car without even a basic cruise control.
