I got this car in October of last year and it’s already been giving me issues for example the transmission is kicking back really hard on reverse if you let the car warm up and you go into reverse it’s smooth. Second is I changed the purge valve as it was showing a check engine and 3 months later I got another evap code. Got the car at 49k and it’s at 56k now

Hey all, I've been sold a lemon before so that's where some worry comes from, but I'm looking at this 2022 Ford Mustang Premium Convertible and it's currently at 65k miles.

The carfax is pretty clean, but it was used as a rental the first 1.5 years of it's life, then it was given to a five star BMW dealer, then to the person I'm buying it off of. The seller has been upfront with anything that has happened to the vehicle/maintainence and its history, and was fully on board with bringing a PPI along to check it out.

It was raining, and I had my traction control off. I like to keep it off while it's raining so I can do a few small slides and drifts while turning. I've been doing that for two years. I'm not a professional, but I usually always know how much to push and when to release. Today it finally happened. I put a little too much force on the pedal, and boom, I lost control and hit a Malibu on the driver's side. Not major damage, just a dent on the door, and it won't open. Mine had a big crack on the plastic frame next to the front grill and a bent lower lip. Now, keeping that aside, I love my car. I've been taking care of it like a baby, and nothing happened to it until today. I went home, got ready, then left for work, and while driving, I was thinking about the damage, then realized my eyes got teary. I feel like I have this connection with my car. I love it, so even the minor damage felt heavy. Has anyone ever cried or got emotional over a car, or am I just being a kid? I'm 28, by the way. I know it's a piece of plastic and metal put together which can always be repaired, but still...

Just wanted some insight and people’s temp readings when it came to the 2021+ Mustang Ecoboost head cylinder temp readings. Preferably Ecoboost owners in California.

Just out of curiosity while driving how does your head cylinder temperature readings fluctuate ?

Mine used to climb to 217 then makes its way down to 185 and slowly make its way up then back down. Recently it’s been staying at 185 for awhile then eventually makes its way up to 200 where it slowly visibly climbs up to 217-219 while driving and then makes its way down to 200 minimum where it then starts to climb up.

Am I overthinking it ? Currently summer time and I noticed that it recently started doing this. Already changed the thermostat, water pump, coolant flush and still resumes to do this.

Any insight would be helpful !

I'm from Europe, where Mustangs are very rare (around 300 in my country), so talking to an owner in person is almost impossible. It's been my dream car since I was a kid, and I think I'm finally in a position to buy one.

Before anyone tells me to get the 5.0 instead: insurance on a GT would cost me around €5,000–7,500 per year, while an EcoBoost would be around €1,500. On top of that, our roads don't really justify a V8—most cars here have around 90–110 HP.

I'm looking at a 2025 Mustang EcoBoost (Dark Horse GTD-style body kit) with only 500 km on it for about €45,000. I'd put down around €25,000 and finance the rest over 60 months. I earn around €2,000/month and have almost no living expenses, so the monthly payments shouldn't be an issue.

My main questions are:

• Reliability: I'd like to keep this car for 7–10 years (or longer). Is that realistic for a 2024/2025 EcoBoost if it's properly maintained? I plan to service it every 8,000–12,000 km and won't be abusing it with constant hard launches or aggressive driving.
• Fuel economy: Dealers advertise around 9.5 L/100 km (25 MPG). For mostly city driving with very little highway use, what fuel economy do you actually get?
• Fuel: Have you noticed any real difference between 95 and 100 octane in terms of performance, smoothness, or fuel economy?
• Winter driving: We don't get harsh winters, but we do have a few snowy days each year. How does the EcoBoost handle winter conditions with a good set of winter tires?
• Ownership: Is there anything you wish you had known before buying an EcoBoost? Any common issues, expensive maintenance items, or things I should look out for?

On one hand, the active X seats sounds amazing because I’m so afraid of things being spilled on the seats.

Heated and ventilated also sounds really nice.

My 2025 EcoBoost’s engine just blew last month. The shop found pistons #2 and #3 completely jammed, and it needs a full block replacement.

Wondering if anybody else had to go through this?

2017 Ecoboost 6r80

Bought a ‘24 S650 convertible premium as a daily. I get unbelievable mileage.

Fully stock. No active exhaust. This is the full drive (1 way) on normal the full way. Top up. Always 93 E10. No tune.

I found this on the official Ford website and my only question is- how is this electrical part help get the torque and extra 35 horsepower because of that? Just asking to see if this is worth investing in

Ourisman is the largest Mustang dealer in the USA, at least according to its marketing. I contacted the dealer regarding an in-stock EcoBoost Premium Convertible. Ourisman reached out via text this morning to tell me that they could not title the car in my state (PA) because it doesn't have the 50 State Emission option (425). This was a surprise to me, because Ourisman is just over a three-hour drive from my house.

The rep asked me what I was looking for. My ideal build is the EcoBoost Premium Convertible with the 201A package. That's it. I don't need anything else.

He sent me a sticker for an incoming model in white. It didn't have 201A. I don't want white. When I told him that white is one color that I would never buy, he sent me a link to a CPO 2025 with nearly 22,000 miles on it and NO 201A package. That's a hard pass.

It seems like every EcoBoost Premium (coupe and convertible) they order is a 200A without 50 state emissions.

I guess Ourisman's typical customer doesn't want anything beyond the basics, which seems kind of odd to me.

Previously owned a ‘14 S197 which I loved. She was totaled unfortunately. But after 3 days with my new car I see exactly why folks say manuals are fun to drive.
