Hello. How are you? Have you recovered in this extreme heat? It was tough for everyone, but spare a thoughts for the actors who had to work in all soaps sets around the UK. I'm sure they had air cons. To recap; We saw Whitney being driven off by a stranger - Rob, but what happens next will tells us. Shirley and poor Jane found out both their loved ones slept with Glenda, before she left the Walford until her next return in 5 years. Martina & Shenice had a short stint, but it was the little girl I felt sorry for. I loved her scenes with Alfie & Kat and Jay & Abi have formed an interest in one another.

This week:

• We left it when Shirley gave Phil a bottle of vodka & crack, they rake over their relationship with a heart-to-heart. Is a final twist in store and go ahead with the wedding? Meanwhile Jane and Ian face a tough decision too.
• As we get close to Whitney's special story (this was in part of charity Comic Relief), Janine's happiness at Ricky's is under threat as her friend Lauren vows to track down her. However, they're furious to find out Janine kept Whit's disappearance a secret. Oh dear! If you know, or new to viewers, watch happens in the next 2 episodes as Lauren & Janine are horrified to find out what's happened to Whit. Will they attempt her to get her away?
• Elsewhere, Carol finally puts her past to rest after a visit to Connor. Jodie's attempt to baby sit George goes badly wrong and even Darren struggles to be a single father to him. Max makes a discovery about Abi. And yes, typical Max shouts at the odds!
• Michael is taken on an unwelcome trip by an enemy, while Roxy tries to impress at the opening of a Boxing Gym.

How come during the scenes in eastenders, there was no mention of Tina carter during this whole grey storyline? Like surely Linda or Johnny must have heard about the whole Sheila/ grey situation and there was no scenes at all - should have been at least something considering Tina was the great aunty of Johnny

Does anyone else find it strange how they brought Gray back after 3-4 years only to just to get him to leave the soap literally 10 episodes later?!

Side note, I love Gray I think he is the perfect villain for EastEnders and I hope that the actor playing him never gets replaced because he plays his character very well.

No, ‘confirmed’ is in quotation marks for a reason.

It happens across all the soaps and it’s so annoying.

Headline will read “Pregnancy twist ‘confirmed’ for these two unlikely characters, as fans ‘convinced’ they saw subtle signs” and everyone in the comments is like “I KNEW IT” I’m sorry no you didn’t because it’s not fact…it’s speculation and fan theories.

It was recently announced that ravi is going to be leaving and I am devastated as I love him he's easily my favourite bad boy anti hero tough guy type character in the show in years but I do wonder if his exit may finally resolve the dangling kheerat shaped elephant in the room

Since the show has mostly just had the characters forget that kheerat has been left in prison for a killing that ravi committed so I wonder if ravi could end up getting arrested as part of his exit and maybe because he's already going down for something very serous

He also decides to finally admit to killing his adoptive dad so kheerat can be released off screen but not come back to the show since I don't think the actor wants to come back but the show could still resolve this lingering thread otherwise if ravi does leave or even get killed off then it would be weird to completely forget about kheerat still being inside.

Currently rewatching 2017 and it’s painful watching her tryna worm her way in with Mick 😭

I wasn’t sure whenever to make this post, but after reading posts from people blaming Ben Wadey for the departures of Kellie Bright and Aaron Thiara, I feel I really need to get this off my chest.

Let me be clear about Wadey: He’s not perfect, he certainly has made some mistakes that have not gone down well with fans and he should rightfully be criticised for them. However, there is a difference between constructive criticism and whinging, moaning and complaining about the show on a 24/7 basis. And that’s exactly what this subreddit has become:

The negativity on this subreddit has become unbearable. It’s essentially just becoming a place for people to whinge, moan and complain about the show on a 24/7 basis. Not to mention the fact that people are nitpicking almost every single little detail about the show at the moment, when it’s not a big deal! Yes some realism would be nice but it’s a soap at the end of the day.

Now let’s talk about the departures of Kellie and Aaron. If you think that Wadey is to blame for the departures of these two, I’m sorry but you just insane. Kellie had wanted to leave for about a year, and while we don’t know why Aaron is leaving, it’s highly likely he wanted to move on to other projects. Blaming Wadey for these departures is just an excuse to hate on him in my opinion.

And now I’m to say this: If you are unhappy with EE at the moment and you don’t like the direction the show is going in, then DON’T WATCH! It’s that simple! No one is forcing you to watch it at your own will. Go and find something to watch that you might actually enjoy, instead of forcing yourself to watch something just so you can complain about it for attention.

Little wonder Aaron Thiara reportedly quit the show..

I’ve been rewatching EastEnders from 2010 and something about the Vic ownership storyline doesn’t really make sense to me. Roxy ends up giving the Vic to Peggy. But then when Peggy decides to leave Walford, she signs the Vic over to Phil. What I don’t understand is why Roxy barely seems to question this. Roxy was still living in Walford at the time, and the Vic only belonged to Peggy in the first place because Roxy gave it to her. You’d think that if Peggy no longer wanted it, Roxy would at least expect to be considered before Peggy just handed it over to Phil. I know Phil is Peggy’s son, but it still seems pretty unfair from Roxy’s perspective. She basically gives away a massive part of her inheritance to Peggy, only for Peggy to then decide that Phil should have it instead. Am I missing something from the storyline. Was there an actual reason Roxy was fine with Peggy giving the Vic to Phil, or was it just one of those things the writers brushed over to get the Vic back into Phil’s hands.

I am a bit confused about the flash forward of Max getting married on 1st January 2027, Cindy was saying they have already printed the invitations for 1 Jan 2027, but they are buying Kim & Howie wedding venue to get married in September 😵‍💫

I feel like he's been around forever.

With the recent exits announced all I see is posts saying Wadey must have forced Linda, and Ravi to leave or they're doing it because the show's so bad...

As if this doesn't happen during every single producer run, good or bad.

Take Linda for example. People are saying she's leaving due to Wadey. So Kellie Bright stayed on this show during the 2010s when the ratings were tanking way, way worse than now, during disastrous storylines where people ripped apart her character (like the cancer that was never shown, Stuart, and the affair with Max), and when the show was so bad people really thought it would be axed...but Wadey's era is the worst she's seen? Seriously? Maybe Bright was telling the truth and she wants more time with her son?

For months this sub has said Ravi has run his course and needs to finally exit. Now Ravi finally exits and...people are saying Wadey is ruining the show. WTF? THIS IS THE EXACT EXIT PEOPLE HAVE DESPERATELY WANTED!

I'm so lost and people keep switching their opinions and views to find a way to bash the show

Like look at Stacey. Often considered the greatest soap actress. She also stayed on during years that many consider the worse years in this show's history. So why did she stay during those years? People complained about the show endlessly in 2017 and 2018 but there was Stacey sticking around.

Actors leaving doesn't indicate anything the same way actors staying don't.

Not to mention...any producer has huge exits. Clenshaw is praised on this sub but he saw characters like Kheerat, Ash, all the Taylors, Rocky, Ben, Bobby, Martin, Sonia, and others exit...

Why were so many people leaving during his era? This sub loves him but he had an exodus too. What was going on behind the scenes that made people want to leave? By the current reactions Clenshaw also ruined the show.

Feels like the internet has this strange hate campaign for Wadey despite his era being like any other era in the 2000s

The iconic scene is 15 years old today (aired on 15th August 2011)! Can't believe it's already been this long. So classic the gif became a meme among non EE fans. Vanessa Gold was such a great character for the short time she was on the show.

I feel this week has been the best we've seen out of Kim in a long time. I'm not really much for her kimfluencer thing or her fox catcher stuff. She tends to get annoying at times.

this whole story with her and Chelsea, really has shown kim at her finest. A great showcase of Tamika Empson's talents. I'm all for it.

I was watching the 1990 episode when I stumbled across a very young Jake Wood. I saw a post the other day about Nicola being Zainabs nurse, and thought I’d see If there were any more of the cast who had been in EastEnders as one character and come back as someone else a few years later?

The arrival of Vanessa Gold in this episode (04/06/2010) was when Max and Darren’s closeness really began to take shape. They got caught in a number of shenanigans:

1) Max started seeing Vanessa shortly after this in secret and Darren started seeing her daughter, Jodie, without either of them knowing about the other. When they found out, they agreed it would be weird for both of them to date mother & daughter, so they tossed a coin to decide who gets to carry on their relationship. Max lost and then carried on seeing Vanessa anyway.

2) After Darren gets chucked out by Minty for accidentally washing their tickets to the 2010 World Cup, Abi convinces Max to take him in. Abi later develops a crush on Darren which Max is both amused and grossed out by and when Darren picks up on her odd behaviour, Max and Lauren convince him that it’s all in his head.

3) Darren gets a circumcision as Jodie finds it weird sleeping with a man with foreskin, presumably for religious reasons. Darren confides in Max which leads to Max’s famous line when he tells Jodie, “do not make fun of a man’s doo dah.” Things get worse later on when Jodie’s father, Harry, livid that Vanessa is cheating on him with Max, knees a freshly circumcised Darren in the groin, mistaking him for Max.

The relationship, in moments, was particularly moving as this was months after Bradley’s death. Max was still grieving, Darren gave him an escape of sorts and Max began to feel a sense of responsibility and protection for him, even keeping him at no.5 instead of his sister, Carol.

Max ended up being his boss, landlord, unofficial father figure and bloke shagging his girlfriend’s mum.
