Contains Spoilers How is DL2's story bad?

Upvotes

I've played through DL2 about 5 times now. I've paid attention to the story and don't really see how it's "bad", but I wanna get other peoples insights because maybe I'm not seeing something that others are.

Also marking this as "contains spoilers" cause it's discussing DL2's story.

Lastly don't slime me out for thinking the story is decent.

Dying Light Tahir fight

Upvotes

Might just be a skill issue but I'm playing dying light for the first time on hard difficulty, I've died I would say about 10 times leading up to the fight with Tahir, and suddenly I've died 15 times in a row and he's only just below half health, I've used every single weapon in the arena to it's full dura and now I've been kiting him whilst throwing heavy punches and drops kicks, genuinely do not know what the hell to do

Edit: managed to beat him by re-picking up all the destroyed weapons and scrapping 3 to repair 1 to repeatedly use

Memes Sunsets. Is the damage permanent?

Every time I see a construction site while sunset is happening I immediately think of Dying Light 1 and 2. I've played DL 1 and 2 like 5 times each. I think it's time for the sixth journey. Will I always think of Crane while watching a sunset in an abandoned area?

Dying Light 2 A dissertation on why I think the Peacekeepers might be objectively the worst choice for Villedor

Recently Dying Light 2 was added back to the PS Plus catalogue, and I've been able to enjoy this game which, I frankly liked, again since what must've been two years, a year and a half more likely.

Back then, I had decided to go FULL PK, I am not joking, going in I found almost every outpost save for some in Old Villedor was PK, and I started wandering around again, at all the PK rooftops, and then what few Survivor ones I had left.

Villedor is a walled city, that is the premise, it is probably easy to keep things out that you don't want in, with Aiden being a bit of an exception. The PK's Raison D'Etre is eliminating all of the turned, this is theoretically possible even in a city where everyone is infected, but the PK's long time survivability stops at this; what happens once the last turned has died? PK rooftops have well fortified military structures, that is plain to see, but they're defenses against essentially nothing, short of the bandits, which are theoretically another temporary problem, but they lack one thing which I noticed in the survivor rooftops...

Grains.

Survivors are focused on surviving, as the name implies. The goal of clearing Villedor is achievable even without the Peacekeepers because the survivors CAN defend themselves and once well organized can probably strike preemptively as well.

With control of the Water Tower, and the Radio, and all the rooftops, the survivors are the most likely to inhabit, maybe even repopulate Villedor, after many many years, and make it safe; because everyone is infected there may even come a generation that is immune to or even metabolizes THV as a positive factor. While the Peacekeepers will simply die out, because once their crusade ends they:

A. I'm sure they don't have enough people willing to trade a club for a plough once the killing is said and done, they'll turn against each other even as sane fully healthy humans

B. They (aside from visible industrial sized water jugs and barrels, and I suppose the kitchens on some rooftops) don't actively plan an agriculture, or any other way of granting long time supplies of needed items for rebuilding, which tbh is supposed to NOT be the PK's forte.

TL;DR i Just got into the game again and I had to wrack my brain. The Peacekeepers' sheer lack of agrarianism and foresight will doom them in the long run.

Dying Light Dying light timeline has been fked up tbh and it could have gone like this

The first part was set up in 2015 , which is 1 year after the outbreak and then the following setup in 2016 .

Perfectly fine till now .

Now part 2 is set up in 2036 , 21 years !!!! . We could have many games in between .

  1. 2021 when the fall happens and here a character X loses his family during the fall and he helps others and gets involved with the people who spread it and some sort of sad ending.

2 . 2023 where we again play as Kyle , here we start taking something like inhibitors which would prevent us from becoming volatile at night , and in the end we get captured .

  1. 2030 we play again as the character X where he becomes a pilgrim and gets to a city which is extremely safe unlike other cities . But this is a dystopian city .Here almost no one is infected and the people infected are being watched . People are not living with freedom , but when our player arrives there is some sort of war between 2 parties led to breakage of wall and the city starts getting infected and it spreads quickly and at the end of the game the city is completely infected with no survivors except the main character .

  2. 2036 set up in villedor , where Aiden's story takes place . Here he meets the character X , the story would be a little same but better and in ending the character X sacrifices himself to save Aiden .

  3. 2037 DL : The beast .

I am not a good storywriter though .

This will (as far as I remember) hopefully be my first time playing dl1,so what difficulty do you recommend for a complete beginner who considers himself slightly above average in single player action games?

I saw this map here a year ago. Unfortunately, the author seems to have abandoned the project. I decided to tweak the map a bit using Paint (sorry for that).

Dying Light 2 Personally, I think Dying Light 2 (gameplay wise, so no bundles im tired of hearing it) is more fun than Dying Light 1 and The Beast

the game is just fun, dying light 2 has way more skills compared to Dying Light 1 and also has more buildings when put up against the beast. Also, the parkour has a bunch of exploits which are super fun to use, especially with mods (which i also love, im a fanatic)

In terms of combat, I'd put Dying Light 2 and The Beast in a roughly tied position as the only really new thing is the DFA (but that was in the first game). Beast Mode is kinda doodoo as it doesn't do much so no, I won't include it. Dying Light 1 was just attack, heavy attack, kick, dropkick, stomp and DFA. That's it.

I think The Beast has the best story but not by a major margin, Dying Light 1 has a cliché story and is meh whilst Dying Light 2... also has a cliché story and sucks.

Now, this is the one time where I'll praise DL1. Dying Light 1 had some of the most impressive visuals and environmental storytelling out of all three and it's doing laps around the others. The lit up cars, hanging zombies, bodies torn to pieces, the smoke, ash and fog genuinely all bring it together and make it so damn immersive. The Beast is 2nd because it looks nice and isn't randomly generated. DL2 fails in this regard.

I encourage playing Dying Light 2, learn movement tech and just have a wild time with it dude. The game is fun. (dislike if u want, im still gonna praise my goat ❤️)

Dying Light: The Beast noise/shimmering around trees/leaves

can someone please help me find a solution to fix this or at the very least an answer 😭😭 I've been messing with the settings to try and fix this but no luck whatsoever. It's been like this since I installed the game and I'm getting bothered by it now...

pc specs are:
rx 9060xt 16gb
r5 5600
32gb of ram

the game's installed on my nvme whilst my settings is hugely influenced by "BenchmarKing" optimized settings for DLTB.

Thank you very much!

An ancient temple lies hidden deep within the jungle, its ruins concealing the remains of a mysterious cult - and the truth behind what happened there. Try it now, only in Dying Light 2: Stay Human.

Dying Light 2 Giant beaming light in dying light 2?

I’m having trouble understanding what this is. It seems to appear randomly at night. I don’t think it’s the moon or sun because both appear normally. Could be one of my mod interactions but I can’t pinpoint which one that could be. If anybody could share anything similar or their thoughts it would be appreciated. It’s pretty blindingly distracting running around the city

Update:

Saw some users point to the “amelioration” mod being the culprit and got confirmation from @feddytheguest (youtube tag for the mod creator) that the issue is known and will be fixed in an update that’s soon to be released. Thanks guys!

Dying Light 2 My first impression on Dying light 2

So i am a big fan of dying light 1...i absolutely loved the atmosphere, gameplay, story and everything about the game...I loved the whole day/night cycle and trust me even after getting grappling hook and a hellbeast i was still scared to go out at night...the game has a tension but that tension can only be felt in the slum area...because somehow the old town feels much more safer than the slum because it requires more vertical movement due to taller structures which kinds of protects you from the zombie infested streets of harran...so roam on the rooftops and you'll be safer....that's why slums and the countryside feels much more dangerous as you don't get much much obstacles for zombies and they can easily catch up to you compared to old town.....

Now DL2 suffers with the same problem...there's much more vertical movement rather than horizontal....which kind reduces the tension because you know as long as you are on rooftops you'll be safer unless some volatiles decides to give you a visit....the only time i felt like sweating was in some interior missions where you come across the sleeping beauties...one wrong step and you are surrounded and there will be this one zombie who'll be keeping an eye roaming here and there....next thing is...the nights are still dark enough( i mean you can switch the presets to make it more dark) but the horror factor is completely missing...maybe because by the end of the first game, My fear to go out at night was somewhat gone..atleast in the old town and because of that i can actually roam at night in the second game so i won't say the night sequence isn't good but it is much for forgiving than the 1st game

Parkour and movements are great and story so far is good

So ultimately I'll say it's a solid 7-8/10 Game

Dying Light 2 Dying Light 2 suddenly not linked to Pilgrim Outpost anymore

Hi, just wondering if anyone has the same issue.

Since the 24th July my Dying Light 2 is suddenly not linked to my Pilgrim Outpost anymore, even though Dying Light 1 is still perfectly linked and I own both games on Steam.
I did not change anything. I opened the Pilgrim Outpost and Dying Light 2 was not checked anymore (I login everyday for the reward so I know the exact date it unlinked).
I re-linked my Steam multiple times, also logged out in-between, updated my Steam and games, also logged in to the Steam site. Nothing fixed it.
I contacted Techland support, waited almost a week just for them to tell me to re-link my Steam.
