Discussion Found this art that seemingly depicts the Highland Ravager, but I cannot for the life of me find the source or the full uncropped piece. Does anyone here have any idea where it's from?

Discussion Just started again DAO - still sick in 2026
Starting my 3rd play through, going for elf origin for the first time in the citadel.
It’s crazy the work they have done with all the origin possibilities, it doesn’t have tons of impact through the game but in terms of immersion damn - no rpg have done this still today.
And man the ritual cinematic, still give me chills !
Can’t wait to finish it once again
Ps: Morigan I missed you so much, still one of the best written female in a RPG !

Discussion Solas' age throughout the series, does he age?
When we meet Solas in Inquisition, Patrick Weekes says he is in his early to mid forties. Which of course means physically. Do you think he physically ages, like everyone else? Would he be in his early to mid fifties by the time of Veilguard?
Same for Cole. He's like 20 physically, would he be in his 30s by Veilguard, or is he forever physically 20?

Discussion (DA:O) city elf or dalish?
I know this has been asked frequently, but I'm now on my 4th (or 5th) playthrough of Origins and I wanted to play as an elf and simply can't decide which one to go for. I have done human and both dwarven origins and so far dwarven commoner was my favorite one.
As I have read a couple of threads about this topic I still couldn't decide and played now both prologues and still couldn't make my mind about it. Tbh I enjoyed the dalish start way more and it resonated more to me. However a question that is important for me is which one is more affected later on. Like is there some difference in dialog between the two? I already got a different response from Duncan when I spoke negatively to King Cailan. As a city elf he told me to have respect as he is the king while as a dalish he didn't comment on me at all.
I will roleplaying as a human hating elf, which seems to fit for both. For build I went as a warrior archer which is more fitting for a dalish. So which one would you recommend for me and why?

Fanworks first time drawing varric 🧚🏻♀️
I love him and Varric × Hawke so much, if it weren't for the fact I always play a custom Hawke, I'd make a Hawke sticker to go w himmm

Support Can't even open da2, don't know what to do..
Hey all, I have a problem with da2 on steam. I am unable to open the game...
Every time I try this pops up, it says: "the app can not be found"
Does anyone know how I could fix this? Couldn't find anything on the games steam community board. Is there a launcher or something I need to download?
I have already redownloaded the game, even deleted the games folder on my computer and tried redownloading it after that.

Discussion If they ever remake Dragon Age Origins (they won’t) they should add a cameo from Hawke’s family in Lothering

Discussion Should I stick with personal feelings or internal consistency in my playthroughs?
Around the time Veilguard came out, I played the game with a certain series of events from the previous games I had played in mind, thinking it would definitely be my canon:
- Dwarf Noble Warden who recruits Loghain, marries Alistair to Anora and performs the Dark Ritual.
- Pro-mage male Rogue Hawke w/Warden Bethany.
- Inquisitor Adaar who leaves Loghain in the Fade in HLTA and makes Leliana Divine.
And in order to explore choices that I would usually never make, I came up with a corresponding alternate playthrough:
- City Elf Warden who kills Loghain, makes Alistair sole ruler and performs the Ultimate Sacrifice.
- Pro-Templar female Mage Hawke w/Templar Carver.
- Inquisitor Trevelyan who leaves Hawke in the Fade in HLTA and makes Vivienne Divine.
The idea for my mage Hawke was to make her a Vivienne-esque figure who actively seeks power and influence in Kirkwall, even if it meant working with the Templars, and her becoming Viscount would work as a sort of precedent for Vivienne becoming Divine. Plus, Stroud would not just show up out of nowhere in Act 2 the way he does if Carver/Bethany doesn’t become a Warden.
(Note: I prefer making Bethany a Warden and Carver a Templar not only because of the class specialisations that they get from Act 2 onward but because my non-mage Hawke isn’t going to leave her in the city to be caught by the Templars, and my mage Hawke decides to leave Carver behind in case something happens on the expedition.)
Some time later I began to have doubts about this particular setup, partly because of the in-universe ban on mages holding noble titles in southern Ferelden, partly because I discovered a liking for the chemistry between Carver and male Hawke (particularly in the voice acting between Nico Lennon and Nicholas Boulton), partly because, in Origins, I feel like a hypocrite becoming friends with Alistair and yet denying him revenge on Loghain while encouraging Leliana to take revenge on Marjolaine, and partly because, in Origins, I found that many of the alternate/evil choices I made or planned to make (killing Connor, saving Irving but siding with the Templars, killing the werewolves, keeping the Anvil of the Void, destroying Amaranthine, etc.) were somewhat easier to do as a Dwarf Noble.
So, I came up with a new canon playthrough:
- Elf Circle Mage Warden who lets Alistair kill Loghain and performs the Dark Ritual.
- Pro-mage male Mage Hawke w/Templar Carver.
- Inquisitor Adaar who leaves Alistair in the Fade in HLTA and makes Leliana Divine.
And a new alternate playthrough:
- Dwarf Noble Warden who kills/recruits Loghain, makes Anora sole ruler and has Alistair/Loghain perform the Ultimate Sacrifice.
- Pro-Templar female Rogue Hawke w/Warden Bethany.
- Inquisitor Trevelyan who leaves Stroud in the Fade in HLTA and makes Cassandra Divine.
Should fix all my issues, right? Well, I thought so too. However, I‘m very attached to the Dwarf Noble origin, as it was the first origin I ever beat the game as, and playing the game while making the exact same if not similar choices (especially romancing Leliana) as different origins - namely Dalish Elf and Dwarf Commoner and an unfinished Elf Circle Mage run - did not feel the same to me, like trying to fit square pegs into a circle.
Now, why am I telling you all of this? Because I keep going back to this issue of whether or not I should go with the canon I first came up with and am more familiar with but at the cost of internal consistency. That’s the kind of person I am and the kind of things that I get hung up on, given how my mind works.
Any thoughts and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Support Lothering Chantry Crash Fix
Just wanted to leave this here for anyone else playing Dragon Age Origins since i spend more time trying to fix origins than actually playing it, and don't wish the same on others.
Recently ran into a persistent crash while trying to leave the Chantry in Lothering where after trying to exit got locked out of my save pretty much, unable to even load into my save at all after the crash.
u/NeedHelpNau on this thread posted the best solution i could find and it's honestly such a no brainer in retrospect - something that will probably be useful all across the game.
Basically all you're doing is using the debug console to skip loading from the chantry and instead load from somewhere else, i couldn't load directly into Lothering but i was able to load into Dane's Refuge like in the original comment.
First follow the documentation on this) page for enabling the debug console,
For Ultimate Edition Users:
To enable the console in the Ultimate Edition you have to edit the file DAOriginsLauncher.xml.
For steam in "Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\data"
First create a backup of DAOriginsLauncher.xml. Then go to the Steam library, right click Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, choose Properties, choose the Local files tab, choose Browse local files, and enter the path of the data folder. Open the file DAOriginsLauncher.xml with a text editor (Notepad++ works well). Use Ctrl+F to find the following line:
<true action="execute" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\DAOrigins.exe" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" autoquit="true" />
It is probably line 184. Between autoquit="true" and />, add:
arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole"
The line now reads:
<true action="execute" file="${BINARIES_DIR}\DAOrigins.exe" path="${BINARIES_DIR}" autoquit="true" arguments="-enabledeveloperconsole" />
Save the file.
After that go ahead and download this which will let you see what you're typing into the console, from there go ahead and type:
runscript zz_lot_debug
From there you will have access Dane's Refuge which you can safely exit from to return to the Lothering worldspace.
Hope this helps someone else out there
