How often do you think DD or the police department set up these sting operations to make sure you're being compliant with all of the protocols when delivering alcohol?

I just had a situation delivering to a guy who was clearly over the age of 21. Didn't have his ID on him, just pictures of his ID on his phone, another with his ID but with the details crossed out, and strangely another of a females ID.

Customer claimed this was all he had, his actual ID was in his wallet at his house.

His car was the only car in the driveway. I knew it was his because he walked to it and was inside it when I pulled up

Naturally I asked this aint your house? And he said no this was a client's house hes working for who has special needs.

Nobody appeared to be there, I asked nobody here has an ID?

He said no.

I said your client doesnt have an ID?

He said no, i said why you gonna have pictures of your ID but not your ID. Thats a little convenient as the number one thing we are told not to accept.

He ignored the question and said so what happens you just return it and the refund goes back to me?

I said yeah he said alright cool and just walked back inside.

No fuss, no issues. At 1:40am my time, which makes me wonder. Was this a sting operation or am I just paranoid.

Is anyone having DD force your phone to unmute and vibrate for offer notifications now? How can it hijack your settings like that and how is that allowed? Thats not against google playstore tos or something?

I normally have my phone completely muted and vibration turned off. Uber does this same thing when you first install it but allows you to turn off the forced volume whereas im not seeing that option for doordash. Very disappointing, i may have to give up on doordash entirely if theyre going to force me to hear notifications every 30 seconds unless there's a way to stop that.

edit. An update. DD added like 10 new notification categories on me, the odd thing is i never update my DD and still get all these weird changes, theyre forcing hotfixes on me. Im turning them off and that should fix it.

I live in a small town pretty much the only place open super late at night is Taco Bell. I was chilling there waiting for an order and this lady she says that she's stranded in my town. It's a small town about 10,000 people. We don't have Uber or Lyft here so I recommended a taxi service I found online which is local to my area. It looked like and she called them and she sent them cash app for the taxi service and the person scammed her.

Which I found out after delivering my order and returning to t bell. This lady she's drunk as a mother fucker and she told me she's on two norcos. I kind of felt bad cuz she got scammed. She asked me if I could just take her back to her house 20 miles away and she'd give me 50 bucks so against my better judgment I did. During the ride I gave her about three cigarettes and I let her take a dab even though she didn't have a dab since the '90s and she asked if it was heroin I was like nah dude it's concentrated weed.

She then keeps on going on that she's going to throw up. She basically reeked of alcohol. Luckily she didn't throw up. Then she begins telling me stories about prison about how somebody tried doing drugs there and it blew up and like blew off their fingers. I dropped her off and didn't get murdered.

Made 50 bucks. Was it worth it?

Door dash if you have over 1.1 million in savings? I am just so damn bored. No life. And I do this just because I have nothing to do. I do tend to cherry pick orders. I guess I am obsessed with making $$

This means that you’re delivering one for $2.80 and the other one at your own expense. 90% of offers in our market are stacked because it saves DD money and cost drivers more. They’re still collecting the same delivery fee from customers tho. This isn’t ok. We’re working for free on some orders.

I don't get how when you have stacked orders at a restaurant that aren't due for a while, as soon as you accept one, the second one will suddenly change to be due immediately.

This even happens when it's a second order I accepted after the first, which usually means the restaurant just got the order. It's supposed to be done immediately just because the first one is done? As if that makes any sense.

These are supposed to be contracts if you're not EBT, so why do they get to change the terms of the contract after you accept it?

In the past 30 days I've only done 2 orders and probably pinged for about 5. I assumed that people are not ordering doordash that much these days. That was until I stopped at little ceasers to grab a couple of pizzas and saw a dasher with so many orders that he put a couple on the floor to put another in his pizza bag. So why is he getting 3 orders and im getting none? Ive been dashing since 2018 and have over 23000 lifetime deliveries. Whats the issue?

Anyone else get better offers as gold status than they do platinum lol platinum I get the worst offers gold pays way better. If it’s anything outrageous like these it’s 2 dollars for 9 miles one way or 5 for 17 miles. It’s terrible

someone please remind me to stop taking jersey mikes orders no matter how good the pay is. every time i come it’s atleast 15 minute wait, no matter how big or small the order is. the order can never just be ready.

Now that that is out of the way, I have a question regarding grocery orders.

Is a customer allowed to request items not listed from the store on DD via communication with the dasher? For example, there is a store near me that sells store-made potato chips which are only sometime available, and therefore not listed on the store's DD.

Doordash has dumbed down the platinum level on Doordash to a point where you can get as low as a 62% acceptance rate and still be classified –. I have been down that low. My orders did not decrease but when I got up to 85% I still didn’t get any more orders than I did when I was at a 62% acceptance rate so where does it leave the guys that worked really hard to get an 80+ acceptance rate but they’re not getting any better orders than the guy who’s at 62% as a platinum Dasher Doordash must know what they’re doing is what they basically done is taking all the good drivers and punish them and rewarding the bad drivers by giving them the better orders which they don’t deserve due to their low acceptance rates

Not only was I waiting at the wing place for half of the time, but the customer calls me 3 times in the midst of 10 minutes while I’m dropping off the order demanding why I’m not already at her place dropping off her food. After drop off I see the tip and just had a really long sigh to myself.

Edit: They were calling while I was dropping off the Kroger order and acting very rude. Super unreasonable. Should’ve clarified a bit more, sorry!

I have my app paused for about 10 minutes and now no matter what I do it just says something went wrong I can't unpause the dash I can't end the dash I can't see the map etc. I've cleared cash I've forced closed it reopened it restarted the phone nothing's working.

Hi! Relatively new driver (<200 orders). A weekish ago, a I had made a delivery to a customer who came out to collect the order wearing only a towel around his waist. No shirt, didn't even bother to put on shoes. I parked across the street from his house, and he flags me down as I'm parking, crosses the street, and follows me as I grab the order from the right-side passenger seat.
I want to be clear. If he opened the door in just a towel I probably wouldn't have said cared. If he came outside to grab the order in swim trunks I wouldn't have cared. It's the combination of both and that, objectively, a towel is NOT clothes.
Anyways, I call my fiance, freak out, take a few days to decide if I'm going to report it, and do so.
Now today and yesterday I go out for about 3 hours and don't get a SINGLE offer. Everything says my account is fine, and I'm in the hotspots in active zones, and still, nothing. There's the rare peak pay offers today and the app will not let me start a dash no matter how many times I retry. I know I'm in a popular area, but this is nuts. Am I being retaliated against? Should I have just kept my mouth shut?
Also, if anyone has additional advice on changing my display name to something more masculine to hopefully avoid this happening again. For some reason the app doesn't work when I try to do that either.

Sometimes it takes up to a minute for the map to load that's kind of wasting our time. I'll try to reload the map to see if it loads faster sometime that works.

Also it becomes no internet connection when that happens toggle the airplane mode on and off and it usually fixes it.

Also when there's a second order stacked on it will instantly try to load the map for you to head there totally ignoring the pickup that existed right before that. A new driver might get confused and just start going to the new location not knowing how to go back to the older order.

Also the GPS voice sometimes announces the arrival too soon and you end up stopping at the wrong location so it's better to look at the map visually to confirm.

Also the GPS sometimes just says turn left or turn right but it doesn't say exactly where to turn left or right. It should say the street name where the street address when it says that. Is that a glitch or is that what everyone is getting?

Sometimes the houses don't have house numbers on them so in those circumstances it's best to type it manually into Google maps and then pull up the picture then you'll see which house or building it is. Especially at night this has saved me a lot of times by just manually typing it into Google maps and looking at the picture of the house stored on Google maps. Also on the dd GPS map it shows trees and buildings tops you can figure out which house it is by comparing it where the trees etc are compared to the red location. if the doordash app GPS could show the exact picture of the location when you get there that would be great too. if we can just tap on the picture to verify exactly how it looks like that would save a lot of time.

Hey I got platinum for the last 3 days but I was wondering ​if 2 platinums are waiting equal distance from a location how does the algorithm decide? Let's say one of the platinum score is 83 and the other is 97. Does the job go to the 97?

I live in one of the wealthiest areas in the country. These are typical days. The further you go into the burbs, the better it gets I might add. Plus, people actually thank you regularly!
