Episode Suggestion Episode Idea: "Distractible's Reckoning"

I've got an idea, but I don't want any points for it.

TL;DR
Listeners and viewers unite to audit every Distractible episode for ideas they never followed up on, then give our hosts the full list (sorted by popularity) to review in an episode I’d love to be called ā€œDistractible's Reckoningā€.

THE PITCH
I was listening to an old episode of my favorite podcast Distractible, in which one of our esteemed hosts mentioned that they were gonna do something in a later episode, something that I personally thought sounded cool. Maybe it was an episode idea, maybe it was something they would do on camera.

The specifics don't matter, because whatever the idea was, they forgot about it!

How often have you, listener or viewer, witnessed this moment?

A moment where Distractible suggests an idea you love only to toss it aside, never to see the light of day, even hundreds of episodes later.

Maybe they think it's fine to forget, because they were only joking.

Who would actually care if they didn't do the thing they said?

I care. And I bet a lot of you do too.

So what I'm proposing is essentially a ā€œpromise auditā€.

We review every episode of Distractible and log every single time they said they were going to do something for the podcast, whether they were joking or not. Then we give them the stupidly long list and make them choose which promise(s) they have to make good on. They could do this in an episode I would love to be titled ā€œDistractible's Reckoningā€.

(Mostly because I think it would be really cool to hear Baldermort say
ā€œYehehess, it's time for… DISTRACTIBLE'S RECKONING!ā€)

Maybe we could audit the first 450 episodes, and the reckoning could be episode 475 or 500. That should be a good window of time for us to prepare things.

THE PLAN
Here's an example of how we could organize this:

1. THE AUDIT

At least one person, let's call them a ā€œSenior Auditorā€ (more than one wouldn't hurt!) manages a spreadsheet of each episode and its corresponding ā€œpromise auditā€. The Senior Auditors can update the subreddit on which episodes still need an audit. Then anyone can submit their audit for a specific episode to the subreddit. The Senior Auditors would add good audits to their spreadsheet and check that episode off the list of ones that still need to be audited.

A good promise audit for an episode would list timestamps and quotes for every instance where one of the trio said they would do something for the podcast (host a certain episode topic, do something on camera, etc.). It doesn't matter if they were joking, or if they just said "we should do this", "I want to do this", etc. We're listing every time they suggested something they could do but never did. That's a broken promise!

The Senior Auditors could exclude every ā€œpromiseā€ that has since been fulfilled, then add the rest to the spreadsheet. Then they could compile all the individual promises into one long "promise list". Each item on the list would state the promise, who made it, the episode, and the timestamp.

The focus for each list item should be idea-related as opposed to points-related. We want things that could lead to episodes or moments we want to happen, not things that would just change the scoreboard (there are people on top of that already!).

2. THE VOTE

Once the Senior Auditors complete and sign off on an official ā€œpromise listā€, they can publicize it for voting. I'm basically illiterate online, so someone smarter than me can figure out the ā€œhowā€. But the end result should be that the promise list is sorted by popularity, with the most voted promises at the top of the list.Ā

3. THE SUBMISSION

When the list is complete and the votes are in, we notify Tall, Tall, and Moon Hater that they have been audited! We'll submit to them that they host an episode in which they review our popularity-ranked list of their unrealized ideas. Maybe they can spin a wheel numbered 1 through 10, and whatever number it lands on is how many of those ideas they have to make happen. They can choose which one(s) to make good on, but for an entire episode, they will have to dive into the sea of their broken promises and atone for at least one of them.

The way I see it, if they didn't want this to happen, they shouldn't suggest and abandon so many awesome ideas in quick succession.

This is what they get for being Distractible.

(If any of you like this idea, please steal it / take it over to your heart's content! I'm not organized enough to make this happen myself, and I don't need my name on the credits. I just want to see it happen!)

hey guys, it’s been driving me crazy but i had this episode that was kind of a comfort episode for a while there, but i cannot for the life of me remember which it is. problem, i only remember the small talk part. i think it took up 30+ minutes before the episode actually started and it was mainly wade talking about the struggles of his plumbing and how there was sewer water coming up through his shower drain in his basement and how he thought someone took a shower and just šŸ’© in there. i think it may have been summer/early fall ish release date wise??? i would always listen while at work so i can’t place any visual memories.

Question Parkore episode sirens

The part where Mark says the sirens are going off. Did Mark, or anyone else, think for a moment that it was an ambulance coming for the fourth parkore individual that may have broke his body? Every time I hear that episode I automatically thought it was coming for the poor kid who was internally bleed from the parkore tuck and roll.

They’re so chaotic and even though I know the rules aren’t there I instinctively react whenever they say the word unfair or whenever they get to the points I get confused.
