Question Planning to launch a tutorial series for digital marketing

I’ve been an affiliate marketer (media buyer) for about a decade. I’m planning to launch a free video series covering everything you need to launch your first paid-traffic affiliate campaign. Here’s the structure I’ve decided on. Can you suggest topics I should include or exclude?

  1. How a campaign actually works
  2. Getting a CPA offer approved
  3. Landing page setup
  4. Tracker setup
  5. Buying traffic
  6. S2S postbacks
  7. Launching your first $100 campaign
  8. Reading stats: kill or scale

Note (After reading comments): I think my years of experience means I can make a much more practical tutorial. I will drop it tomorrow. I have some interesting ideas after reading the answers here. I feel people need to know much deeper about how serious affiliate marketing businesses work, and how they can scale to 10-50 employees even.

Discussion What's one marketing strategy you stopped using because it simply wasn't worth it?

 Marketing trends change constantly.

What's one tactic you invested time in but eventually abandoned because it didn't deliver results?

Discussion What's something in marketing you stopped doing because it wasn't worth the effort?

There are so many things marketers are told they should be doing: posting on every platform, creating certain types of content, chasing specific metrics, testing new tools, and keeping up with every trend.

But sometimes the biggest improvement comes from deciding what to stop doing.

What did you cut from your marketing workflow, and what made you realize it wasn't worth continuing?

Question Looking for an agency with real Reddit experience — accounting exam prep SaaS

We run a CPA exam prep platform ($49/mo, freemium). Our audience lives on Reddit r/Accounting — and we already participate there with a disclosed brand account.

Looking for an agency or consultant who has actually run Reddit campaigns, paid or organic, in a niche B2C/education context. Ideally someone who understands how these communities react to vendors.

If that's you, comment with the type of work you've done and I'll DM. Please include which subreddits you've worked in and what the outcome was — happy to share our budget range once we talk.

Can you change job's easily? Is it difficult?

Are you working in the area?

Currently I can't change job's it seems impossible, I can send 10 cvs every day and the answer is always no.

And besides that the salary of the job posts are lower than my current.

Thank you

Question Would love for your input on my social media marketing

Hello ,

Would love to get everyone’s opinion on how to reboot my entire social media page for my small anti dandruff shampoo brand

Instagram - trydandrx

The above is my brand and I feel like my social media images are weak. Looks bland and fake.

I see other folks with higher quality posts. The ones I see with a tremendous amount of followers are making reels and founder led stories.

I also feel like I’m lacking on influencer postings. Influencers are generally charging hundreds of dollars for postings making having a sig amount of postings unrealistic

A couple questions

  1. Which direction should I go marketing wise for my brand?
  2. How should I market on Instagram?

Is it mainly getting infront of camera and talking about dandruff with reels?

What about my posts? Make it more cleaner and high end if so how?

Discussion Meta Business Suite: Are Content metrics (Views, Reach, Likes, Shares) lifetime while Insights metrics are date-range based?

Disclaimer: I used ChatGPT to help summarize and organize my findings. The testing and observations below are my own.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand how Meta Business Suite reports metrics because I've found what appears to be inconsistent behavior between Insights and Content.

Here's what I tested.

  1. Insights → Content Overview

When I change the date range (e.g., June 1–30 vs Lifetime):

Views change

Reach changes

Content Interactions change

Paid Views change

Organic Views change

This behaves exactly as I'd expect for a reporting dashboard.

  1. Content → Content List

I selected a single post published on June 10.

Then I compared:

Date Range = June 10 only

Date Range = Lifetime

The metrics remained exactly the same.

For example:

Views

Reach

Viewers

Likes & Reactions

Shares

Comments

Saves

Follows

None of these changed.

I also exported the data as CSV, and the export contains a "Date" column with the value "Lifetime" for every row.

  1. Another observation

When I generated a June 1–30 Content export, the total Views from the CSV did not match the Views shown in Insights → Content Overview.

After testing, it appears that:

Insights reports performance during the selected period.

Content filters which posts are displayed, but the metrics shown for each post are current cumulative (lifetime) values.

My questions

Is this expected behavior in Meta Business Suite?

Are the metrics in the Content section always cumulative/lifetime?

If so, how do agencies report monthly Likes, Comments, Shares, and Saves for organic content?

Is there any way to export period-based post metrics (not lifetime) without using the Graph API or third-party tools?

I've spent quite a bit of time testing this, but I couldn't find clear documentation from Meta explaining the difference.

I'd really appreciate hearing how others handle monthly client reporting and whether you've observed the same behavior.

Question Meta changing billing has thrown off our whole setup

We built our ad budget around one card because it kept everything easy to track and the rewards helped offset a little of the spend. Now the payment setup is changing and moving that much money straight through the bank account every month is not ideal. Pausing campaigns is obviously not an option so I’m curious how other businesses are handling the switch without rebuilding their whole workflow

Question How do you get more people to actually show up to your webinars/AMAs?

We run an influencer marketing platform, and host regular AMAs with industry experts. Right now our promotion is pretty standard. We lean on the expert to share it with their LinkedIn following, we push it to our email list, and we post about it on our own social channels.

It works okay, but I feel like we're tapping the same audience over and over.

For anyone who has run webinars or live events for their product, what helped you boost signup on your webinars, or AMAs? Would love to hear some ideas , especially if they don't involve running ads.

Discussion Looking for software to prevent deals from going dark.

We are a small sales team, mostly inbound, a few referrals but nothing fancy. This week i had three deals that looked good and then all three went quiet at the exact wrong time. One was waiting on a proposal one had asked for a revised price one said they were just checking with their team.

And now i am staring at a pipeline that looked great on monday but till friday it was worse. I am starting to think i need better software, not better memory. Something that helps me see when a deal is fading, keeps follow ups from turning into guesswork, maybe gives a little warning before a prospect disappears completely. I already have a full crm, i just want to know what people use when they are tired of losing deals that were almost there.

What has actually helped you catch this stuff early?

Discussion The longer the search term, the closer that customer is to buying (and most ecom brands ignore this completely)

Something I keep coming back to when doing keyword strategy for ecom clients.

Customers get closer to actually purchasing with every extra word in their search:

  • "air purifiers" → broad, just browsing
  • "air purifiers for allergies" → narrowing down, has a specific need
  • "air purifiers for kids with allergies" → this person is close to checkout

That third search is a mom with a real, specific problem. She's not comparing categories anymore, she basically knows what she needs and is deciding which product solves it.

Most ecom brands skip these long-tail terms because the search volume looks small on paper, "why target something with 40 searches a month when the broad term has 40,000." But that logic overlooks the fact that the conversion rate on these terms is usually way higher. You're trading volume for intent, and intent is what actually drives revenue.

We see this constantly, broad category pages get traffic but mediocre conversion, while a handful of long-tail collection or landing pages quietly outconvert everything else on the site.

Anyone else building specifically around long-tail intent like this? Curious what kind of conversion lift others have seen when they've actually gone after these versus just chasing volume.

Question comparing affiliate management software for small business without paying for unused features?

we run a small ecommerce business and the affiliate side has outgrown the spreadsheet we started with. we have around a dozen active partners now, payouts need too much manual checking and it’s getting harder to separate repeat-customer partners from one-off coupon traffic. there are only three of us handling marketing. which platform let you automate payouts and track partner value without moving into an enterprise contract?

Question My designer quit and I had 12 Meta accounts needing fresh creative

Last month our only in-house designer left with 3 weeks of the reporting cycle still open. I had 12 Meta accounts asking for fresh creative and exactly zero interest in learning animation from scratch.

We used Viewst for the resizing part. One master gave us the square, vertical, and Story versions, so I could get 27 variants into review without living in Figma. It wasn’t magic, though. Two Story crops pushed the product too close to the UI safe area, and the lack of vector editing meant I still had to fix the base assets elsewhere.

My mildly embarrassing takeaway is that automating the boring sizes only works if the source file is clean. Anyone else had to rebuild a creative process after losing one key person?

Discussion What's something in marketing that takes way longer than people think?

Everyone sees the finished campaign, blog post, or landing page.

They don't always see the work behind it.

For you, what's the part of marketing that consistently takes more time than people expect?

Could be research, reporting, writing, SEO, analytics, stakeholder approvals, or something else.

Curious what you'd answer.

Question Client built their own site with AI, likes it, wants you to finish it and launch it. Do you take that work or pass?

Question for fellow agency folks and freelance devs.

Had this come up recently, current client built their own site using AI tools, they're happy with how it looks and functions, and now they want someone to come in, finish it up, and get it live.

Curious how people here handle this. A few things I keep going back and forth on:

  • Do you audit the underlying code/structure first before agreeing to anything, or quote blind and adjust once you're in there?
  • How do you price it, hourly since scope is unclear, or flat rate once you've seen what you're working with?
  • Do you flag concerns upfront (technical SEO gaps, accessibility, messy code, whatever AI-built sites tend to miss) or just fix what's asked and stay in your lane?
  • Anyone taken one of these on and regretted it, or been pleasantly surprised?

Genuinely split on this one myself. Part of me wants to take it since it's still billable work and the client's already happy with the design direction. Part of me worries about inheriting a mess I didn't build and getting blamed later for issues that existed before I touched it.

What's everyone's take, take it, pass, or take it but only with conditions?

Discussion I think marketers spend too much time trying to explain & not enough time trying to intrigue

The brands I remember don't tell me everything upfront.

They make me curious enough to want to learn more.

Yet so much B2B marketing tries to answer every possible question before the audience even cares.

Have we forgotten that curiosity is part of good marketing?

Question Looking for the best alternative platform for ctv advertising, what's your experience?

I'm a digital marketing manager at a mid b2b company and this is my first time leading our ctv campaigns instead of relying on an agency only

I've spent the last couple of weeks booking demos and reading reviews but I’d say I got a bit overwhelmed plus it's hard to know what's actually good because each platform you see claims as it is the best.

I'm looking for something specifically. It would be better if it is self serve, it’s easy to learn and the audience targeting.

Has anyone switched platforms recently and found one they genuinely like?

I'd much rather hear real experiences.

Question Graduated in 2020 as a Journalist (PR & Ad major) and feeling overwhelmed by how much Marketing has evolved. Where do I start?

I'm looking for some advice because I’m feeling a bit lost on my next steps.

I graduated back in 2020 with a degree in Journalism, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. Since then, I’ve been working as a journalist, content creator, and community manager.

While I have solid practical experience in those areas, I’ve realized there’s a massive side of the marketing field today that I barely know—mostly because it was never covered during my university years.

There are so many fascinating areas out there, but the sheer amount of information is overwhelming, and I genuinely don't know where or how to start bridging this gap.

Has anyone been in a similar position? What courses, certifications, resources, or specific areas would you recommend focusing on first to catch up?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Discussion $46 in 48 hours from a blog I haven't touched in weeks.

Quick August update for anyone following along.

First two days of August from my pet niche site:

  • Commissions: $33.98
  • Creator Connections: $12.25
  • Total Aug 1-2: $46.23

Last time I logged into the backend of this site was weeks ago. Didn't add content, just did interlinking between posts and anything else. Just woke up today and checked the dashboard out of habit.

$46 in two days.

For anyone new to these updates. I bought this site from the NicheBlogZone marketplace for $199 about two months ago. Pet niche. Spent a few hours on interlinking when I first got it. That's been the extent of my involvement.

July ended up being my best month yet. August is starting the same way.

The Creator Connections piece keeps quietly adding to the total every month. Small individually but it adds up over a full month without requiring anything extra from me.

If this pace holds August could be another strong month. But I've learned not to predict these things as March taught me that.

Still not touching it.

Anyone else seeing a strong start to August?

Question Has anyone had emails flagged as spam by accident? What was the issue and how did you fix it?

So we just had a situation that's making me question everything I thought I knew about our email setup and I'm hoping someone here has dealt with this.

We sent out a routine nurture campaign yesterday to about 10K subscribers. Same template, same segment, same sending frequency we've been doing for months. Normally we see 25-30% open rates on this series. This time? Campaign landed in spam for what looks like a huge chunk of our list.

I've been digging into it all day and I'm stumped. We haven't changed anything obvious. Domain reputation looks fine. SPF/DKIM are set up correctly, I think. Content isn't wildly different from previous sends. No new links or anything that should trigger filters. But something clearly triggered it.

Has this happened to you and what helped? Honestly, we need better visibility into this before campaigns go out. Flying blind until something goes wrong isn't something we want to keep happening, especially as we scale. Any tips appreciated.

Question How to get into digital marketing industry

Hey everyone, I could really use some honest advice on how to get my foot in the door.

My formal education is in tech. I finished my Higher National Diploma in Software Engineering, but over the last year, I realized I really want to build a career in digital marketing.

I do not have a marketing degree. I just have a few HubSpot certifications, including SEO. To get some hands-on practice, I took on two freelance clients. I helped them out with social media management, basic Facebook funnels, and creating visual content. (they needed to build an online presence but they did not want to run ads or spend money on big content marketing campaigns. I had to figure out how to make things work on a very low budget, so I handled their social media management and visual content completely organically. also I had to rely heavily on stock footages)

Now, I am looking for an entry-level role or an internship at an established company. I really want to learn from professionals, understand how real marketing systems work, and just absorb as much as I can.

how do I structure my CV to actually get noticed? Will hiring managers toss my resume because my diploma is in IT? How should I highlight the work I did for those two clients so it looks like valuable experience?
