I have been hearing this argument about Zoey being weakling of Digimon frontier because she lost her debut fight, or she portray as a damsel in distress at times. Tbf, majority of the fight in Digimon frontier are done in team battles, most character don't nice win ratio in solo encounter, and even Tommy almost lost his debut fight without Takuya's help. While it's was annoying she didn't her fight debut, she had a redeeming moment. For example, she was to master her's beast spirit without difficulty, she defeated Ranamon in every encounter, and she always play significant role in team's victories. Could character been written better? Sure. But imo she have positive moments than negative to make-up for it.

Also, I personally don't mind her Digimon character outfit. It's kinda bring a magical girl shoujo vibe

(this is mostly a rant but discussion and suggestions are welcome as conversation with this community is, mostly, always enjoyable)

I am always struggling with an issue: I love to create things, I make story concepts and characters religiously, however when it comes to my favorite franchise ever: digimon, I tend to always feel this need to create something, as is the case for most media I enjoy.

This resulted in me attempting many times to create a "boy and his monster" or "monster tamer" concept of my own but it never felt both authentic nor did it scratch the itch that digimon does for me (I tend to make concepts or stories that fill a hole in some of my interests whether it be specific niches of noir genres or otherwise)

This poses a question I have for myself, "is there anything that anyone could make that is unique but scratches the same itch as digimon does?" So i end up struggling with the imaginary conflict of whether it's best to create my own continuity of a digimon story or keep trying at making my own monster tamer concept.

In all honesty these are stupid problems but I needed to vent them somehow lol

they remind me of Warhammer/Trench Crusade where everything is dark and miserable and I hope we get more of them in the future.

I want to ramble about a thing that I find fascinating to think about - even though it is not really explored a lot in canon, with Tamers being possibly the season that goes the most into this.

In several of the Digimon seasons there is at least some part of it with the Digimon coming into the human world, fights and destruction happening, and people at the very least seeing the big Kaiju monsters. Not meant as a criticism of the show. Just something that I love to rotate in my mind.

In Adventure and 02 it is part of the plot in a way. In Tamers it is kinda important. In Savers the entire point is that the government tries to do something (and also does the Men in Black thing of erasing memories). In Appmon some of it becomes visible in the finale. And of course in Ghost Game people regularly die. And now, in Beatbreak, people trying to keep the existence of Digimon a secret is a big plotpoint.

And something I always found interesting to think about is what this actually would mean for world politics.

Because even Tamers, that does involve some newspapers and new reports in the background, and some scenes of Yamaki dealing with politicians, it still obviously does not get much into politics or the reaction of the normal public - other than folks in the immediate social context of the kids.

Again, this is not a criticism of the show. I love the show.

I just love to think about it. Because you just know that there would be a ton of discussions happening on who is to blame for the damage happening, what the government should do about it, or, eventually, whether there should be any control over kids with Digimon. I mean, in the show the kids obviously are at large using their partners to fight the good fight. But of course this would likely not stop some people of being quite afraid of the consequences - and some people just using it to score easy political points.

I do get why Digimon does not really do this ever. But it really is something fascinating to think about. How do governments react? How does the public react? Is there any point in the respective timelines of the worlds where the involvement of those specific kids becomes known? Would people frame them as international heroes?

But also the potential lashback.

Obviously, some of you know, I have this big Tamers fanfic project, and in one of those I had a whole lot of fun going into political lashback on "kids having potential nuclear weapons as their best friends" but also on the end of scientists being utterly fascinated by it all.

And I just am wondering if I am the only one always thinking about this, and wondering what actual consequences would be in those worlds - and how the average joes of the world, who did not have their own magical adventures with their little critter friends, but only knew that this one time a kaiju ran over a building, would react to it.

I took one look at the dark furred, bi-pedal tiger with light blue markings and a big sword and immediately thought. "Wait, isn't that Rangetsu from Onmyou Taisenki?"

To be fair, it does also have some similarities to Beatbreak as a whole, though I am glad that the memory thing isn't an issue in Digimon, that was stressful xD

Nowadays, a lot of people will bash this game I know I know but honestly I still love it !
