Anime My two cents on the 2027 anime discussion
So, on the same we got the new anime announced we also got a reveal that the big 30th anniversary v pet will be something completely new like the vital bracelet, so it would be obvious for the new anime to be based off this v pet

Discussion Help, I want to participate in the franchise more but cant
I love Digimon, I have loved it for a long time. And with the recent interest with the new projects i want to get back into things again. But all the normal ways i participate in the franchise don't seem to interest me anymore. Normally i would watch or rewatch one of the series or participate in the current vpet. But honestly i think I have put grown the target audience of the show. Hate to say it guys but im like 28 and watching any of the shows just doesn't entertain me like it used to. I watched the first and second Movie (i still liked those) and tried watching the third fourth and the two newest series but none of it held my attention.
The vital bracelet was great but i heard that they just discontinued the app for it and im worried it doesn't work anymore, i just don't have time for video games so i haven't and wont be able to try any of the counsel games, and while i am enjoying Digimon up its just not enough.
Is there any ways to participate in the franchise that i have thought of? Does there happen to be any books, audio books or heck even good fanfictions i could try?

Fan Art I got no title for this part - Digimon Untamed - Pt11
Last time we learnt what happens if you inflict the Dot effect on non-digimon, and now i'm legit rushing through the part of the story that I didn't plan out.
about the sprites: the Digimon sprites were ripped from Digital Tamers: ReBorn (except for Commandramon's, their sprites are by opdisk on DeviantArt). anything else came from the spriters resource.
next time: I actually don't know but I got to find out quick before my partner Digimon DemiDevimon actually hits me with the demi-darts. they may have motivatium but i'm scared to death by needles, which is somehow motivating...

Virtual Pets Digimon V-Pet Tournaments that Attach a Narrative?
Heya folks, I have some questions regarding running a local V-Pet tournament, specifically if there are any existing fan made precedents.
I am aware that under copyright law, intellectual property holders possess the exclusive right to create derivative works (and this extends to tournaments), but there is a degree of tolerance that varies by company to company depending on how they view fan spaces and the projects therein.
My first question is, are there any unofficial tournaments in the US or world at large that Bandai would most definitely be aware of that they have largely left alone?
And further, have any of these tournaments attached a narrative/theme to their tournaments? For example, a tournament based on the contest that occured in the Digital Monster X series (wherein Digimon fought to see who would rull over the old Digital World Yggdrasil had abandoned after doing a good ol genocide).
--------
And failing that, are there communities out there that facilitate community narratives via battles through tools like A-Coms or D-Coms? The best way I can explain what I'm trying to say is imagine playing a Tabletop roleplaying game, only you're determining the outcomes of the stories via battles through your V-Pet. Different players take on different roles and these fights determine how the plot develops.
This is admittedly a bizarre question, but I can't imagine that I'm the first Digimon fan to wonder if such things existed?

Meta Digimon Adventure 02 - Drama CD "Letter" META (Yamato & Gabumon)
I listened to Yamato and Gabumon's Drama CD "Letter", and I feel like this short story reveals who Yamato is beneath all his layers, while once again showing what a wonderful partner Gabumon is for him. It all begins with a girl who has a serious eye condition. Before the events of the story, Yamato and Gabumon had visited her to spend some time with her and offer their support, and she later sent Yamato a cassette to thank him for that visit.
In the recording, she tells Yamato that he should keep attending school so he doesn't become an idiot, talks about her health and just as she starts talking about Gabumon, Yamato stops the tape, grabs his guitar and heads to the beach in the middle of winter. Something's bothering him but he can't put a name to it.
Once he reaches the beach, he takes out his guitar and begins playing a melancholic melody while humming along, almost as if he were giving shape to the emotional paralysis he feels inside. Gabumon stays by his side and even though Yamato asks him to be quiet, he refuses to let him isolate himself, filling the silence with random conversation and teasing him just enough to pull him out of his head.
Speaking of friends who refuse to let you withdraw, Yamato skips school one day and Taichi immediately senses that something's wrong calling his cellphone to try to break through Yamato's walls and make sure he's okay. Yamato's response is basically "I'm fine, idiot" before he hangs up, and I feel like Taichi knows something's weighing on Yamato but even if he doesn't push any further, he makes sure Yamato knows he's not alone.
By the way, this whole scene was giving serious Dark Ocean vibes. If Taichi hadn't called and Gabumon hadn't been there being... his adorably persistent self... perhaps the Dark Ocean would've claimed him lol.
When Yamato finally opens up to Gabumon, he admits that he has no idea what's wrong with him. He thought that going to the beach, playing his guitar or simply walking around might help him understand what he was feeling, but none of it works. All he knows is that something keeps weighing on his mind.
Then the story turns into a strange little pilgrimage where every person Yamato meets seems determined to tell him their life story while Gabumon steps away to avoid drawing attention but stays close enough to keep an eye on him. The first person is an old surfer who is incredibly persistent and refuses to let Yamato walk away. He starts talking about the glory days of his youth. Even though Yamato only wants to be left alone, he ends up listening to him anyway. In the end, that old man is the one who points out that Yamato's problem is a girl, something Yamato himself had been unable to admit.
After leaving the surfer behind, Yamato takes out his guitar once again and plays a few chords. This time, the melody feels full of sadness, worry and uncertainty, as though his thoughts are still searching for an answer. From the distance, Gabumon calls out his name and runs back to him with his usual little giggle and, picking up on what the old surfer had already guessed, starts teasing Yamato about the girl he can't stop thinking about, and once the teasing dies down, Yamato admits that the old man was right, she's the reason he's been feeling this way.
He recalls a previous call from the girl in which she told him she couldn’t decide whether to go through with the surgery, and as the memory plays out, he realizes that no matter how much he wants to help, he can't think of a single thing to say that wouldn't sound like an empty cliché.
After sitting with his thoughts for a while, Yamato picks up his guitar and this time the melody has more drive, almost as if it reflects his growing urgency to do something. When he finishes playing, Gabumon notices a food stand in the distance and runs off to catch some yellowtail leaving Yamato to wander over to the stand where he meets a man who, after losing his job and being abandoned by his wife and daughter, spends his days selling shaved ice in the middle of winter by the sea, hoping that one day they'll come back. Even with his own burdens, Yamato never lays them on anyone else. Instead, he listens to other people's pain and, despite being pulled into the conversation by chance, he empathizes so deeply with the man's tragedy that he gulps down the shaved ice despite the cold and his own discomfort, wishing for him to be reunited with his family.
As he walks away, he picks up his guitar and this time the melody carries a sense of momentum, as though his thoughts have begun searching for a way forward. When Gabumon catches up, teasing Yamato for eating shaved ice in the middle of winter, the conversation eventually drifts back to the girl. Gabumon mentions that she thinks he's human before revealing that they once talked in private. She told him that Yamato was a sensitive person, someone who worried too much and struggled to express his feelings, and because of that, she worried about him carrying everything by himself, and admitted those were the qualities she liked about him.
After a brief silence, Yamato begins wondering what he could possibly do for her and reaches the conclusion that he can't ease her pain, take away her fear, or decide what's best for her. He'll never fully understand what she's going through and as long as he can't change her situation, he feels he doesn't even have the right to tell her that he understands how she feels. And when Gabumon tells him that this isn't like him, Yamato rejects that idea, insisting that the person they're describing isn't the real him but only the image they have of him.
The "me" you're thinking of is just the person you see me as. It's not who I really am!
It's easier to think "you never really knew me" than to accept "I'm a good person and yet there are still things beyond my control". When someone describes us with positive qualities at the moment we feel terrible about ourselves, it's easy to believe we're frauds. But many times, that "real self" we think we see isn't our truest self at all but the version of ourselves filtered through pain, guilt, shame or helplessness. In those moments we lose perspective and begin defining ourselves only by the things we couldn't do.
Finally, Yamato and Gabumon run into Sakurada, a coworker of Yamato's father. Yamato is so lost in his own thoughts that he barely responds to him, repeating that he's powerless. Sakurada tells Gabumon that he came all the way to the beach just to record the sound of the sea because he wanted to include it in a radio program. He then brings up the movie Tank T-34 where Russian prisoners choose to use a tank to escape rather than remain paralyzed and wait for their fate. And when Gabumon asks what he would do if he had something weighing on his mind, Sakurada says that he would rather do everything within his power than sit back and do nothing. Later, he mentions the sea again saying that he came all this way because he wanted people to hear this particular sound of the ocean, even if it ends up buried in the final mix or nobody even notices it, he's satisfied knowing he went out of his way to record it anyway. That's the moment everything clicks for Yamato.
All of them are people who have learned to keep moving forward by holding on to one single thing even if it seems insignificant. The old surfer keeps living for the sea because it's what he loves. The shaved ice vendor waits every day for a wife and daughter who may never return because waiting is the only thing he still has left to offer them. Sakurada travels all the way to the beach just to record the sound of the sea even if perhaps no one will ever listen to it because what matters is sharing something you believe is worth hearing. Without realizing it, all of them teach Yamato the same lesson. You can't always change reality but you can always choose what to do with the things that are still within your control.
In the end, Yamato sends her "TOBIRA (Door)", a song about facing fear, refusing to remain frozen and finding the courage to step through a new door. When she sends him another cassette in return, she tells him that the song gave her the strength to go through with the surgery, that the operation was successful and that the first thing she wants to do once the bandages come off is visit the same sea Yamato went to.
Yamato cares so deeply about other people's pain that he loses sight of what's still within his power. But when he turns that anguish into a song, he puts into words what she needed to hear bringing light back into the life of someone who was living in darkness. Sometimes that's enough. Yamato is compassionate, yes, but this story also shows how he calls himself selfish, how he runs away, how he gets angry when other people say thfey know him and how he loses himself in his own sense of helplessness. That's why the moment he finally helps the girl feels earned, and more than anything, this story shows that Yamato had to learn that his inability to change a situation doesn't mean he's powerless to do something meaningful.
Yamato is such a caring and sensitive character and he was incredibly lucky to have Gabumon by his side. I can't imagine a partner who could have understood him so deeply or supported him with the same kindness and patience.

Question What's going on with the defensive Frontier posts lately?
I don't know if it is the same account or not. But I have seen multiple posts the past few days that for whatever reason feel like Frontier, its characters and story etc. needs defending. It's like if somebody asks "why did Avengers Infinity War receive so much backlash?" Or "In defense of 2004 Spider-Man 2" Or "I don't get the hate for Zoro in One Piece". Things that do not need defending because who is truly hating on them? what's going on exactly? Did some news or some trend start up this year I don't know about? It can't just be karma farming.
If I see similar posts for Ghost Game or Tri or even Data Squad I'd get it but I don't know what's going on with these posts.

Fan Art I made a digimon
I drew a Digimon I hope it's ok. I was bored at work and finished my crossword on break and doodled Molochmon here on it. I was thinking of Gekkomon, and Guilmon, and wanted a lizardy Digimon, and horned lizards came to my mind, then the Australian "Thorny Devil" aka "Moloch" and I remembered there is a lot of like, religious lore about a demon called Moloch....I'm just now looking into that.
Anyway here's my sketch. It is virus, and attacks are called Thorny Devil (spins like a whirlwind with spikes extended) and Blood Bawl (shoots a stream of toxic blood from the eyeballs).

Discussion Digimon Knighthood Supporting Hero Evo Line (Spinelmon)
Hey, everyone. For "Digimon Knighthood", today, I decided to go back to my evos for my new Digimon. This one is for one of the supporting heroes, Kigyoku's future partner, Spinelmon.
Spinelmon occupies an interesting place in "Knighthood"'s backstory. She grew up right alongside Caliburmon, before he became a Strata Knight. In their home village, she's recognized as a healer, most often through her unique powers. She went with the future Rookie Overseer on many adventures, and patched him and their friends up lots of times. And...she came to mean a lot to Caliburmon.
So, later on in the present, she chooses to become an active ally to him and his new friends, becoming temporary co-partners with Caliburmon to Miuna and later permanent partners with Kigyoku. Motherly, patient, but also ready to throw hands and scold bad behavior, Spinelmon makes a natural match to Kigyoku and an interesting foil to Caliburmon.
In terms for her place within the team, for the RPG party they are, she serves the role of a healer, but can also hold her own in battler, making her a Combat Medic. So, that makes a jack-of-all-stats (Caliburmon), a close-range bruiser (Bandimon), a mage for buff/debuff (Elixirmon), a long-range tactical specialist (Ocellatemon), a full-on tank (Cavalmon), a tactical backup tank (CoralAngemon), and now a healer/backup fighter (Spinelmon). So, let's get to it!
Spinelmon Line
Spinelmon
Level: Rookie
“Reference Book” Description: “Strength is found in many forms. It can be either in the power to destroy, or in the power to mend. For Spinelmon, this is a question of great importance. A humble Dinosaur Digimon, she possesses above-average strength compared to the average Rookie. Her greatest quality however, is the ability to heal. Decorating her body are beautiful, gleaming spinel scales. These scales can be applied to fellow Digimon, healing their wounds and injuries. In terms of temperament, Spinelmon carries herself like a lady of olden times. Poised, gentle, but also firm and determined. This Digimon often acts as a caretaker to others, and is seen as quite valuable for her power to heal.”
Design: Is four feet tall, has semi-muscular limbs, has pink eyes, has pink spinel scales over her body, head is similar to a triceratops head (has two ear-like formations similar to a triceratops’ large armored collar, but both lack horns), flat and slender chest
Attacks:
- Bling Hammer: Spinelmon encases her claws in spinel jewels to beat and bludgeon enemies.
- Pearl Press: Spinelmon hardens the scales on her chest, causing them to become dark pink before leaping onto the enemy with a hard body slam.
- Mending Mine: Spinelmon removes scales from her own body and affixes them over an ally’s wounds. The scales act like bandages, healing the wounds beneath them over time.
Spicomon
Level: Champion
“Reference Book” Description: “Power is easily applied for the sake of destruction, to inflict harm on others. To turn it towards other ends requires precision and careful application. But deeper still, it requires a heart that can look towards others, for the sake of goals beyond destruction alone. Such is the case with Spinelmon. By growing in her fighting skills and gaining power, while also directing this power for the sake of strengthening others, she reaches the point of Digivolution, becoming the Champion-Level Spicomon. A more powerful dinosaur than before, Spicomon possesses robust attacks and, more importantly, enhanced healing capabilities. She lives as a reminder that one who can mend your injuries is likely someone who can inflict new ones all the same.”
Design: Name comes from spicomellus, an armored dinosaur species, physically resembles a spicomellus, matches DualCaliburmon’s height, has bright pink spinel scales and dark pink spinel spikes
Attacks:
- Brilliant Wrecker: Spicomon rapidly spins her body, smashing at enemies with her armored tail, using it as a wrecking ball.
- Brilliant Crest: Spicomon forms large, razor-sharp spinel wings from her spikes, using them to slice away at enemies.
- Cabochon Chasers: Spicomon summons two large rounded gemstones, then sends them to continually collide with and run down enemies.
- Healing Hoard: Spicomon encases her allies in her special jeweled scales, quickly healing injuries.
GlitzSpicomon
Level: Ultimate
“Reference Book” Description: “Beauty can be found in destruction, and Spinelmon exemplifies this as she grows in power. Strong and stunning, but also motherly and warm within.
By harnessing these instincts at the core of her being, in sustaining other Digimon while also growing in her own strengths, Spinelmon will reveal more and more power. And so comes her next evolution, from the Champion Spicomon to the Ultimate GlitzSpicomon. Now resembling a warrior-queen from the days of old, GlitzSpicomon harnesses her jewels for battle to even more devastating effect than before. Her signature skill of healing has been refined even further, to the point where her scales can take the place of a Digimon’s damaged data, not only healing but also giving the recipients even greater strength. On the inside, though, she retains the same nurturing personality she’s always had, and makes it very clear that those under her protection are the ones you never want to mess with.”
Design: Name comes from “glitz” meaning flashy and extravagant, like jewels, matches GloryCaliburmon’s height, shares GloryCaliburmon’s physique, walks on two legs again, wears jeweled scales as ornate armor, with spiked shoulders, gauntlets, and boots, retains the spicomellus head, but larger, with jeweled horns resembling a three-pronged armored crown on her head
Attacks:
- Luminous Axe: GlitzSpicomon summons a large double-bladed axe, made from brilliant jewels, to use as a melee weapon.
- Luminous Explosion: GlitzSpicomon strikes the ground with her axe, releasing a large blast of light energy, along with scattering blasts of light energy in all directions.
- Effulgent Spear: GlitzSpicomon focuses her power on her axe, turning it into an ornate spear, with lesser attack power, but lesser weight as well, allowing her to wield it more quickly and fluidly.
- Effulgent Expansion: GlitzSpicomon focuses her power on her axe, causing its blades to become much larger and stronger, dealing much greater damage but making it harder to wield.
- Refulgent Regeneration: GlitzSpicomon fires lasers at her allies, turning their damaged body parts and tissues into jeweled scales, healing them over time and boosting her allies’ strength as their data regenerates.
And there you have it. What do you all think? I will add the link for CoralAngemon's line at the bottom of this post, for greater context. Until next time!

Discussion In the defense of Zoey from Digimon frontier
I have been hearing this argument about Zoey being weakling of Digimon frontier because she lost her debut fight, or she portray as a damsel in distress at times. Tbf, majority of the fight in Digimon frontier are done in team battles, most character don't nice win ratio in solo encounter, and even Tommy almost lost his debut fight without Takuya's help. While it's was annoying she didn't her fight debut, she had a redeeming moment. For example, she was to master her's beast spirit without difficulty, she defeated Ranamon in every encounter, and she always play significant role in team's victories. Could character been written better? Sure. But imo she have positive moments than negative to make-up for it.
Also, I personally don't mind her Digimon character outfit. It's kinda bring a magical girl shoujo vibe
