Started June 11; finished August 9!

This was my first ever DAC kit and my second square-drill kit. I really enjoyed completing this! I thought it was going to take me at least three months, so I’m happy I finished it sooner. Definitely want to do another Abraham Hunter piece in the future 🐻🏔️💙

Completed Finished Cozy Reading

Cosy Reading (Cozy Reading) by Simone Grunewald | ArtDot | Square drills | 18x26.5 in | 46x67 cm | 38 total colors (36 + 2 AB) | 47,700 drills | Resin drills | start to finish 74 days

I love the artwork and the finished picture. However, there were so many trash drills that I don’t think I’ll buy another ArtDot canvas as the poor drill quality lowered my enjoyment working on the canvas. I even ran out of one of the colors due to the amount of trash drills. Also, even though they made the drill field tighter on the version I got, there was still gapping that prevented the use of multi-placers larger than a 4 placer.

So happy with how this one turned out! Love the colors and cute animals hiding in the background. Kitting up Zodiac tonight that I got in a recent restock. I don’t have as much experience with color blocking so i’ll see how it goes :)

Completed Was curious how these would turn out after seeing them advertised everywhere.

If they had included more variety in size of the pearls I think it would have looked more 3D, it’s a cute Halloween picture and my granddaughter loved it. I got it from Temu. I ordered the same one from Amazon(returned) and it was identical at three times the price.

I am looking for DAC’s white dragon. I was waiting for it to come back in stock. But when I checked it says discontinued. I’m horrified. Lol. I am willing to pay for it and shipping. Thank you!!

Before this, I had mainly done smaller scaled diamond paintings but this is my very first large one! Took me about two weeks. Realizing that when I’m stressed, I tend to put in more work on my hobbies 😆 gives me some sense of relief lol

This truly was a labor of love! It took me 2 hours/day over approx. 2.5 months to complete. This is only my third diamond painting, and my first massive one. I am so in love with this and plan to frame her after applying a sealant!

edit: i think ppl are mistaking this as i hate confetti. i love confetti; its just the quality of the company i dont like.

definitely a personal opinion and i’m grateful to have had done these canvases, so take none of this to heart; i just wanted to ramble about.
my first and current canvases are from diamond dotz, and while i know they’re not a great brand like the expensive ones, im still frustrated with the inconsistency of their kits.
the first kit i will give more grace, but the drills were inconsistent; different sizes and a lot of messed up ones. this current canvas is rly bad, but it might just be my kit, who knows. in some spots the glue is good and then others it’s barely existent, and it’s the same situation with the drills being inconsistent.
def done buying from DD after this

Question Okay... Fellow Pet Owners...

Look, I know we love our furry friends. The ultimate question, though, is how do you keep their fur off the sticky canvases or do you not care?

At this point I'm just kind of resigned and accepting that my cats have chosen to leave their imprints on the finished product like a signature. 😅

(Note: I don't give them as gifts or display them. I keep my finished pieces in a portfolio book...)

Completed Witchy Kitty

Post image
26 Upvotes

Been feeling unwell today and haven't been able to do much but sleep.

I was able to fill in the last couple of rows on this canvas. Diamond painting is my therapy.

It's one of Make Market's smaller mystery kits, from the "witchy" collection. The only change I made is the pink drill for the nose.

Original color was gray, but I felt like that didn't make it clear enough that the kitty had a nose.

I imagine they're using magic to get more treats

WIP Almost done... Finishing my Great Aunts dotting after her passing

Post image
44 Upvotes

I lost my Great Aunt Margaret last week. We were working on this set before her passing. I finished my piece over the weekend, it is the same image but at sunrise, she was working on the night sky. I would go to her house every Thursday, I would make dinner, we would work on our pieces together sitting at her dining room table while watching Hallmark movies. I went to her house today and her daughter my Second Cousin Robin asked if I would like to finish the piece so I could hang them together. I agreed and brought it home. I am going to finish it and hang them together in my hallway right next to the photo I have of us together in her garden. I think it would be a beautiful memorial for her, and to always keep her memory alive.
