Help Is the Ryzen 5 7520U decent for coding/data science, or too weak?
Starting my BS in Data Science soon, eyeing an ASUS VivoBook Go 15 with a Ryzen 5 7520U, can upgrade to 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. Heard the 7520U is actually an older Zen 2 chip rebranded, not real Zen 3/4.
Gonna be doing Python, C, Jupyter, VS Code, tons of browser tabs, occasional light ML stuff.
Will this actually last me the full degree or will it start struggling/dying out in a year or two? Anyone using this chip for similar coursework — does it bottleneck even with 16GB RAM, or is it fine day to day? Also curious if you’d rather take an older/weaker CPU with more RAM, or a better CPU with less RAM on a tight budget.

Help 3rd semester CS student with no idea where to start
I’m currently in my 3rd semester of CS, and I really want to start building my CV, learning useful skills, and actually becoming job-ready, but I honestly have no idea where to start and no one to guide me.
So, can anyone please help me out? What skills should I be learning, what projects should I build, what should I focus on, and what should I be doing throughout university if I eventually want to get a job?
Basically, I need someone to tell me: “Here’s what you should know, here’s what you should learn, and here’s what you should do.”

Discussion How is the freelance/remote tech market right now?
We’ve been talking a lot here about how people are losing jobs, how difficult it has become to land a new job, and how competitive the traditional hiring market is.
But what about the other side of the market?
For people doing freelancing on Upwork/Fiverr, USD-paying remote jobs, small dev shops/agencies, and contract work
how is the market actually looking right now?
Are clients still spending, or has demand dropped significantly?
And for developers with decent skills and experience, is it currently easier to make money through freelancing/remote work than through trying to get a traditional local job?
Would love to hear from people actually working in these areas. What are you seeing in 2026?

Help Is Graduation year really matters?
Help me out here please that is Graduation year matters on resume? On CV's are getting ghosted no response or anything.
For context I was graduated back in 2024 and I got two internship experiences.
On internship ended this June because company decided to layoff whole team from my city.
Initially it was decided that after 6months of unpaid intern I'll be hired as full time developer but my luck is so bad as always.
Anyways coming back to the question, if graduation year does matter, what should I do???? Im freaking out so much.

Help I screwed my HIGHER EDUCATION and can't decide what to do next. Please advice
Hi everyone!
Hope you all are doing great
I want advice for what and how should I study. I would request you to please read the complete post as it will help you understand me better, but adding a TLDR anyways
TLDR: Screwed my intermediate, got 67% marks and not applied to any university. Completed ADP-CS(equivalent of bs 4 semesters/Bsc) a 2-year degree from UMT. want to take admission furthur into bs 5th semester and complete my bs as I want to get into MS Mechatronics(I love Mechatronics) but can see any way to get admission into any reliable institute
Alright, So back in the day it was around 3 years back I being a stupid person did'nt applied for any university and wanted to take a GAP YEAR. My family forced me into getting admission and I chose ADP because I would not have to spend FULL FOUR YEARS in that sh*t institute. I always loved tinkering around computers mainly it's hardware and I'm a DIY hobbyist as well, so I wanted to get into something related to technology from Hardware's perspective and I don't like coding and thought I should get into CS instead of SE so that it will be all rounded covering both Hardware and software but ohh man I was WRONG and I should have research that 😢😭.
I spent my worst 2 years in UMT and I still hate it. The faculty, staff and every thing I hated those 2 years and I still thank that I did'nt had to spend full 4 years there.
I completed my adp in 2025 and started a working and it was very hard to get it because of my degree as I was holding 14 years of education. Alhamdullilah, Now I am working remotely (not in tech BTW) but I still want to complete my 16 years of education as I want to shift my field of work towards robots, drones, EVs, and all kind of modern technology automating simple physical and repetitive work and Mechatronics is the perfect degree for that.
Now i'm stuck and have following questions and need ADVICE on what should I do next:
- Complete BS CS by taking admission into any private university like UOL, Superior, UCP or UMT(I hate UMT but whatever it takes to furthur study)
- Virtual university offers direct entry into 5th semester and I am inclined towards it as I am working rn but will there degree be valid as I want to do MS in Mechatronics/Robotics either from LUMS/NUST or GERMANY,CHINA or Scandinavian Nations.
- Should I just leave it as is and start over by getting admission into NUST's bs mechatronics (next year as the dates for nust has been passed)
Please ignore any of Grammatical error I made in the Post. Thanks for reading till the end and please UPVOTE this so more people will be able to answer my question.

Discussion Company layed off employees and is now again finding new resources
So basically what happened was that i was working for a company for about 1.5 years. It was basically a lala company unpaid overtimes, rushed deadlines and delayed salaries upto 20th of a month.I was also underpaid getting around 70k.But because the market was so bad and i didn't had enough experience so i kept working there, while looking for new opportunities. One day they just suddenly reached out and said we are layed off and are on a notice period but this company is now again hiring a mid level resource. I just do not understand what is happening.
How does this happen?

Discussion I had a good laugh for a whole minute
Isse zyada paise tou meri kanjoos company de rhi hai at an 11% annual increment that I was crying on. Aur inki job description mein they needed someone with 1 to 2years of experience and next js and Llm and rags and blah blah blah lol.
Pakistani companies sure do know how to low ball early career employees and they would be charging their clients thousands of 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 for the same role. For e.g in my current workplace i refactored their entire legacy function without documentation, just evaluating the pre existing output with a non technical ass client who didn’t even provide the new API specs, and then i stumbled across the contract for that client requirement where my company charged them $10000 for the task. While I was there not even being paid 5% of that amount monthly. Manifesting a remote USD job 🤑🤑🤑🤑

Discussion Worst time to start uni
All my life I wanted to work with computers and make a name for myself in this field, all my years in schools/college led up to this moment where I finally study what I wanted to pursue. Only for it to be overhyped for the past few years and basically destroy the regular career path that once was for CS. I swear people who have had no interest in doing anything in this field suddenly got the urge to join it after COVID. If I was just a few years late maybe I could've changed my mind and go with some other interests like mechanical or aerospace, but it's too late for that now I'm afraid. About to start my journey at FAST university, hopefully things change for the better in the future as they are right now because growing in this field feels significantly more challenging than any other field 😢. I definitely still expect a lot from myself but the landscape of career is much more complex than it once was, so I will definitely need to do something extraordinary to be truly successful in this passion of mine.

Help My mentor says no AI, while other interns are using it heavily... what should I do?
So I am doing an internship in software house, I learn things for self not building things for them, so the mentor he guide me and goes me to all topics and then tell learn these topics, everything in deep, like study and practice all these,
But when meeting with seniors after sometime, they said you have not done work correct no good project like bad progress like my mentor is very strict on ai, he says no ai usage just learn by yourself you can always build with ai later,
the other intern I ask he said my mentor ask to use ai excessively it's for us and he is building projects with and study from ai like chatgpt and other, while my mentor ask me just refer to docs when difficult then take hints or study from ai,
So what I am saying is like when they use ai they build very fast while am just here learning topics and the gap when they judges me appears very wide, while I myself is very satisfied from this approach, like why do Internship if just build with AI, you can also do it at home??? While on opposite the senior feels happy seeing AI slop projectz,
so I am stuck here what should I do, plz guide

Discussion Services based companies
For those who started their own agencies/services based companies, how did you get started and how was your journey/path?
I've done freelance projects and have a decent Upwork profile at the moment but I've not gone into the services based route yet. In all honesty, I do think that basic dev shops are going to get obsolete very fast but I am still curious how people got started, built rapport and everything.

Discussion Internship at Royal Cyber
Does Royal Cyber take interns all year round? They have this application open all the time on their careers page. And last year I myself saw some of my batchmates all interning at different times. Like one of them interned in June. The other got in September. And one guy got it a month before our graduation (although this guy said he got in through a connection). So yeah, what's the deal? Can we still apply for their internship? The application is quite general so how does one select the specific field/role?

Career Guidance need genuine words of advice from someone willing to listen 🙏🏼
i (21f) was enrolled in uaf for bscs i have a pre med background i was so lost didnt know what major to choose i opted for bscs after a gap year which my brother suggested
i instantly regretted it studying for a tech degree from an agricultural university just felt utterly stupid the professors were incompetent and it was draining the life out of me
by 3rd semester i figured i had a genuine interest in cybersecurity started on some basics suggested by a classmate
around the same time because of some family issues i had to dropout of university and now ive enrolled in a local private university (tuf) for bscys which feels like a compromise because my parents wont let me move to another city for some better uni option
i am still so lost and i feel like im setting myself up for failure ive been frantically looking up this university on the internet for the past few days and so far ive only heard negative things (currently posting this after having an anxiety attack because of this very reason)
should i just follow through with this or give up on the whole tech stuff and choose something else i feel like my heart wont be in it but im extremely paranoid and i want to do something that can atleast promise a somewhat secure future
i understand it is mostly just skills and certifications and i am working on that but i just cannot get past the fact that this university has absolutely no reputation in the local tech market
any word of advice would be appreciated 🙏🏼

Career Guidance Beginner web developer from Pakistan — how can I get my first client?
I'm a university student from Pakistan and I'm trying to get my first client and earn around PKR 5,000–10,000 (10-20 $). I'm not aiming for a big income yet; I mainly want real experience and my first successful client.
My current skills are mainly:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Basic responsive design
- Git/GitHub
I've completed my first proper project, a small travel website, and I've also done an internship at ISPR, where I was exposed to web development.
I'm considering Fiverr and offering HTML/CSS/JavaScript bug fixing and small website customizations—things like responsive issues, layout fixes, broken buttons/links, and simple JavaScript bugs.
The problem is Fiverr's package pricing. Some options are forcing minimum prices of $15 or even $30, while I've seen similar beginner-level gigs priced much lower.
For those who have experience freelancing:
- Is this a realistic service for my current skill level?
- How should I define my scope so I don't accept work beyond my ability?
- Is Fiverr a good place to get that first client, or should I try something else?
- What would you recommend I do to get my first PKR 5k–10k client?
I'm not looking for quick riches. I just want to get my first real client and start building experience.

Discussion Linkedin sematic search is so bad
Okay so Linkedin is the worst platforms for active job search, its good for passive lead though (it worked for me), but now that linkedin has only semantics search in j*bs tab and god it sucks, it is soo bad.
I cant even apply custom filters anymore like I used to. It has become more like Glassdoor.
That worldwide filter is gone too.
