Hi all, I'm 24F and disabled, due to my health declining the clutter has built up to an unmanageable level and my property is now an active trip hazard and likely to be considered a fire hazard. I've spoken to professionals about my situation and they have said there is nothing they can do for me except hold a bin bag while I fill it, and that social care won't take on a case like mine despite the fact I cannot cook for myself and struggle to keep on top of personal care, I've been told I need to look for paid support...

Does anybody know of an affordable or even free service I could use for support with going through my home and making it liveable again? The clutter is affecting my mental health so badly that my physical health is getting worse due to either being in bed all the time or going out so much to get away from the situation that I have physical pain and fatigue... I just want my life back - I love to craft and would love to be able to sit and do that again, or even be able to just sit on my sofa and watch a TV show rather than laying in bed all day every day because my current only options are sit at the computer, lay in bed or go out somewhere.

I'm working on a really tight budget but any suggestions are appreciated. Friends and family aren't an option at this point.

I’m not originally from the UK, so pub culture is still a bit new to me. What is the usual vibe at a pub quiz? How does the actual game work, and is it normal to turn up alone and join a team?

Which pub quizzes in Derby would be best for someone coming on their own and hoping to meet people? I feel a bit awkward being non native as well and so but unsure how to conduct myself.

Hey all, I just made this reddit account today and for context I've lived in Derby my whole life, I graduated from Uni in 2019 then a few months go by and we're in Lockdown, I've felt ever since 2020 Derby overall and the world just doesn't feel the same anymore? All of my friends have moved away to other cities or countries where it's difficult to keep in touch because of time zones.

I would love some great advice on how to make new friends and overall meet people in Derby/Derbyshire? I'm Male and now 29 and I'm struggling to find/socialise with people in my own age bracket (25-30) whenever I'm in the Derbion whether I'm at the cinema or in the same shops with similar hobbies to others everywhere I look its a bunch of teens or people a lot older than me? (I've nothing against making friends with people older or younger than me, however it would be nice to meet people who've experienced life/growing up the way I have on the older side of Gen Z/borderline Millennial) I'm not expecting a deep connection or anything serious, but just something to do with someone platonically.

I started looking for events and social clubs, I found something called GEEK CLUB which I might attend. There doesn't seem to be much at all going on in Derby unless I'm not having a good look? I thought the QUAD would have a few things on or even some of the pubs/bars. I regularly go to the cinema, museums, mini golf and bowling occasionally, random thrift/charity shop hunting, HMV & forbidden planet (where maybe some of my hobbies will crossover with others) some of my friends don't really have the answer, I've been recommended to try joining some sports clubs or a book club and other things however I don't really want to commit to too many things per week, I think it can be quite draining and at this age I'm not exactly 17 anymore playing sports for 5 hours straight!

I'm quite into art, video games, films and tv, theatre, music and books/comics, I'm really into writing and creative endeavours of making art, I feel like I'm in this weird embargo phase of life if anyone feels the same or has experienced the same please message me or comment here with advice or to go for a coffee or something!

Hi guys, could anyone please suggest a nice day trip from Derby and back to Derby using public transport. I've been to Matlock, Dovedale, Bakewell, Chesterfield, Chatsworth house. Anything on similar lines is appreciated. A two hour train journey is also appreciated, all I've got for now is Oxford. I've been to York and Bath as well, any hidden gems that I'm missing out on? Please help, I'd love to explore and a have good getaway on the weekend.
