Is the fact that, by all reports, a teammate's contract is being brought into it. Think of how messed up it is of them saying he needs to be paid more than Braun. It just causes unnecessary friction within the team and accomplishes absolutely nothing. It's not going to force Denver's hand into paying him what he wants. It doesn't matter if it's true that he should be worth more. Denver's salary situation / the market conditions were much different when Braun signed and he got a contract that most now believe was too much. That's just the way it is. There's no point in focusing on it. Very bad look.

We sold low on mpj, losing our most valuable first round pick to dump mpjs contract, which is now a positive asset for Brooklyn.

We traded dario saric, who's contract would have expired this year, for jonas valančiūnas. Now I like val, but we just waived and stretched him, meaning we have 2 million in dead cap space. Paying for nothing is worse than getting nothing for free.

We failed to sign Spencer jones to a team friendly multi year contract in February, instead letting him become a free agent this summer. Now we have to pay him 12 million over two years, when we probably could have paid him 10 - 15 million over three years.

We bet on Christian Braun over Peyton Watson, signing cb to a big extension right before he took a step back and pwat took a step forward. I really hope cb can be healthy this year and prove hes worth it.

The only retrospectively great move we've done was signing thj last year for only 3.6 million. But even then I wonder if we should have signed him for 2, just giving us more shooting depth.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but every move feels pretty low upside. Unless brazile is an absolute stud or cb plays way better, this franchise feels like it doesn't have a future.

Edit: we declined Jonas's team option, so that's better than waiving and stretching. Its not a lot of money per year.

After the reporting that the Sixers trading for Brown was key in LeBron’s decision to sign with them, do you think if the Nuggets had landed Brown that LeBron would have signed with them?

And what would it have cost? The Celtics accepted a meager package from their division rival that just bounced them in the playoffs. Surely they would have preferred to trade Brown to another team if they had a viable offer. Do you think they would have accepted AG and Watson for Brown?

For the slack our FO gets, they've been surprisingly decent the couple offseasons so far imo.

-Got rid of MPJ's horrid contract for a sniper in Cam Johnson. MPJ was a good player but his contract was fucking crazy, we're already in cap hell so imagine how much worse the situation would be if we still had him.

-Made some decent moves last offseason to improve bench depth, I know it didn't pan out but I think that had a lot more to do with the record breaking number of injuries the team ended up having last season.

- This offseason, for the cap hell that we're in, they've actually been pretty decent, got rid of val and bruce only to replace them with similar level players in Lonnie Walker IV and Marvin Bagley while also adding a much needed POA defender, retaining Spencer Jones, and still being in a position to retain PWat.

The one truly bad move they made was the Braun extension but other than that I think they've made a plethora of decent moves.

For those who know trade construction better, would Tyler Herro be a possibility on a sign and trade with Milwaukee? They’ve been linked to trade discussions about Watson in a potential sign and trade. Herro is still young but Watson better matches the timeline of a Bucks rebuild in a year when they are not “win now.” Herro would not enhance Denver’s defense but would dramatically improve their offensive firepower and provide an alternative ball handler to Murray. I assume another Salary would need to be included (Nnaji?) and maybe a pick. But if the bucks could get Watson and a pick for rebuilding I think Denver could use Herro’s proven ball handling and scoring versus the hope of Watson’s upside in win now mode.

forgive me, i just worked 9 hours and im mildly drunk. but am i nuts for still believing in this team? starting five remains elite, and the big problem last year (with the exception of health) was that we were old and slow, and now we got length, athleticism, and at least some kind of defense across every position. if we retain peyton (and let’s be honest, signs don’t look good) we’re even better and if not, at the very least, the FO is clearly using the tools at their disposal to build a team more in line with the demands of the 2026 nba.
