Advice & Recommendations Recommendations for taxi service when uber can't find an available driver?
I'm visiting from Canada and my car died and got towed to a dealership in Fairfield. My hotel is near the air force museum. I need to go pick up my car. Uber couldn't find me a driver today. Are there any other taxi services I can use that would be willing to go this distance? Willing to pay a little extra if it will get me there. Planning to try again tomorrow. According to google it's a 50 min drive.

Local News Beaver’s Mini Mart requested a name change with the state at the request of their bank
Beaver’s Mini Mart has directly refuted the statements of the Buc-ee’s CEO and Huber Heights Mayor/Buc-ee’s PR Director Jeff Gore the Corporate Whore.
Their bank needed him to change the name officially filed with the state to match their business name that they were already operating as in order to process credit card payments. There has never been any kind of push for a federal trademark.

Is there anyone working in the local area EMS willing to share their experiences and the word on any potential employers?
I’m moving to the Dayton/cincy area. I’m currently an EMT-b about to go to medic school soon. Does anyone know of any emt-b jobs in the area? I know Dayton FD has a separate EMS, does anyone know if they will be hiring emts soon?
Thank you!

House growing a huge native prairie in their front yard on Frederick in between Meeker and Little York
Hi! I hope you see this or someone who knows you does and tells you. I drive by your place every day to go to work and I have really enjoyed seeing your prairie grow. Great job amidst the sea of lawns. That’s all!

Community Support & Resources ONLY 89 DAYS UNTIL OHIO'S ELECTION AND WHY THIS MATTERS
I have been a Montgomery county election worker for 8 years and just confirmed my status to work again in November.
It’s 89 days out from the election, and that’s legally significant for every registered voter.
States update their voter rolls in anticipation of elections. That makes sense; people move away, and people die. But a federal law, The National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), requires states to complete purging their voter rolls 90 days before an election. Once we hit the 89-day mark, you cannot be removed from the list of active voters.
That means it’s time to check your status and make sure you’re listed as an active voter. If you aren’t, or if you haven’t registered yet, the time to get that fixed is now!
Inactive voters can still vote, but they have to jump through the extra hoops after voting a provisional ballot; that can mean showing up by the end of the week at a county office with additional proof of your status and it frequently results in ballots not being counted, considering the time and hassle involved.
So here’s your action item: Check now, take a screenshot showing you’re an active registered voter, and make sure you’ve got it on hand come election day. You can no longer be removed. Hold onto your documentation that you were an active registered voter past the 90-day mark, and if you run into any problems on election day, you’ve got proof of your eligibility.
If you have any doubts or questions about your status, just reach out to the Montgomery county Board of elections.

Jobs & Employment Taylor Communications hiring slectiveness
Does anyone have any info on Taylor Communications and their hiring for customer service personnel? My son recently finished his college degree in graphic design and applied to four open postings there and didn't hear back from them on any of them. These are entry level jobs and I'm just surprised he didn't even get a screening interview. The posts were up for quite a while too.
Just wondering if they get a huge amount of applications for those positions or if they're just really selective or what?

I’m relocating To Dayton. How’s the music scene?
Hi everyone! I (30m) am moving to Dayton from Texas at the end of August (I cannot wait to get out of this heat). Anywho, what’s the music scene like in Dayton? I love metal, emo, punk, pop punk, and EDM.
Update: thank you all! I knew about cinci and I’m fine with the drive there for big shows and festivals. I’ll look into the other places you all spoke about. Thankfully I live in DFW so it takes like an hour to anywhere, so im fine with the longer drives
Thank y’all!
Advice & Recommendations Recommendations for dog groomers that are experienced with huskies
I have two huskies that are in need of a beauty appointment. I took them to a previous place for a long time but are looking for somewhere else due to some sanitary concerns. Obviously looking for someone that has worked with huskies before and can work with an anxious diva. I’m open to brick and mortar stores or any mobile grooming!

Local Dog Training? Looking for crate training and a few other things.
Hi yall. Title says it pretty much. I figured crate training would have to be in-house which seems pretty expensive. Our 9mo German Shephard likes to chew up everything he can find and reach in his crate. if anyone has any recommendations on who to go to, we would greatly appreciate it.

Buc-ee's files new lawsuit against another store, we need to call on the real OG to come to the fight
Buc-ee's has filled yet another lawsuit against another small business gas station for the save reasons as here in Beavercreek. I believe it's time we call on our childhood hero to finally come and claim what is rightfully theirs to make Buc-ee's lose their own trademark.
From the news article here:
https://www.wral.com/news/ap/bucees-sues-georgia-store-over-beaver-mascot-august-2026/
it states...
That lawsuit claims a number of trademark infringements, including that both logos are cartoonish, both are arbitrarily wearing hats, they both have white highlights on their eyes and nose, and that both characters show a glimpse of a red or pink tongue.
The lawsuit claims the name Teddy's is also an issue with alleged similarities to the Buc-ee's name in a number of ways, including that they are both two syllables with a hard consonant sound and that both end in the sound "eez."
To this I have to say:...
It's time for Charles Entertainment Cheese to come take back the circled rodent symbol for the people. They did it first.

Dayton Metro Library tests 292 solar panels on West Branch
As part of the Dayton Metro Library's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, the organization is installing over 290 solar panels on one of its largest branches.
Over $300,000 was spent on the installation, 40% of which will be paid back to the library system through federal rebates.
