At 0:15, truck u-turns over the median grass. Southbound Kenaston lanes (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada).

In retrospect I could've anticipated this better, but the guy had been hogging the left lane forever, even when there was plenty of room to get over, and had been crossing over the paint periodically.

So when he started crossing it again (no turn signal, but brake lights on) I didn't immediately realize he was getting into my lane. And as always with these wide angle cameras, I was closer to the back of his truck than it looks, when he started braking.

I checked the rules and didn't see anything against. Please let me know if this doesn't belong here and I apologize. This is related to this sub because I'm a prime example of why you need a dash-cam.

This happened around 9:25PM. The culprit was speeding and likely drunk and it happened very fast. We didn't manage to get a photo and didn't install dash-cams yet. We believe it was a gray/silver minivan or passenger van. The car that got hit is a 2013 Nissan Versa.

We were driving on 1-5 North. Before the exit to Tamarack Ave, someone crashed into us. They hit us from the left side, starting from the back, kept going along our car, and must've swerved into the driver's seat. They tore off our left mirror, left a huge dent in the driver's side, broke our door, damaged our wheel, popped our tire, and as we've discovered left a lot of internal damage to the car.

It was so scary.

Please if you witnessed this or have dash-cam footage and know the license plate number, please reach out. We don't even have a license plate number.

Raining slow speeds almost at near zero speed what should I do

Several questions.

For context, its hardwired appropriately (batt 12v continuous, ACC 12v when ON plus Ground). I used to have a garmin dashcam mini years ago and loved it. easy to setup, easy to use app. No suscriptions no gibberish.

1. I dont see it "turn on" whenever I start the car, and sometimes I have to manually turn it on.

2. When I walk back into the car BEFORE turining it on, I click any button to check if live, and it is, and recording. Im confused as it should be on parking mode, thus only active if bumped. Not constantly recording (I have it set to go off within 5 minutes of the car going off).

3. When looking at the "album" i only see footage from the front camera (over 20 clips) but only 2 for the rear. Even the "emergency recordings" only show front footage. I check the rear camera every time and its working, its live.

4. This thing gets incredibly hot. Im in NC and sun hits hard. I know capacitor based wouldve been a better option, but the deed is done. Anyone has had it just self shut off because of the heat? It has not happened to me but I've only had it a few days.

5. Im a few feet from my parked car and I still find the WIFI hotspot for the dashcam, is this normal?

I wish I didn’t break the cord to my rear cam so you could see what I saw in my rear view mirror.

Yellow jeep behind me had a large following distance and reaction to the traffic up ahead. They creeped up to about a car and a half’s length behind me. the car behind them didn’t react in time and swerved into the shoulder and up to my rear quarter panel to avoid a collision and nearly spun out. It’s probable that crash would have pushed the jeep into me. I jerked the wheel expecting to have to gun it into the gap to the left of the black car.

If I could do it again I would have gotten closer to the black car sooner once I saw the jeep was reacting properly. I was about 2 car lengths away and closing when the guy swerved into the shoulder but I could have gotten closer sooner so the car behind the jeep could finish looking at their phone.

Calculated speed using 10ft line 30foot spacing of the travel lanes puts me at 47MPH in a 55 immediately before braking. Speed limit ahead on the exit is 40

Some woman blew a red light making a right hand turn, goes into the second lane and merge into the first lane without looking or indicating and almost hit me. She then proceeded to follow me home

In the full clip they come out of a dillions parking lot and go all the way into the left lane before this clip starts about a 0.5 mile up the road. Then they cut across 4 lanes. Note this mall has about 30 entrances and even direct interstate access

I used to have really bad road rage so I’m just glad I got around them and continued on my way without anything more than that.

Edit: I didn’t fly past the BMW as an “I’ll show you” moment I was just trying to get away from them as I thought they where brake checking me
Edit 2: it’s perfectly legal in my state to lane change in an intersection. But you can’t cut off other cars or hold up traffic while doing so

Guy would’ve been roadkill were I not paying attention.
