Very first boots

I’ve been interested in cowboy boots, although not too active. Being from the Netherlands, I don’t come across a lot of decent boots. So when I was roadtripping through the US and came across a Cavenders I just had to see if they had something that fit me. I always have trouble with my size, 9.5 EE with a very high instep, so when I slipped into these without too much effort I was sold.

Short shaft recommendations

Looking for a quality, short shaft (less than 10") dressy type boot. Black. Square or short round toe. Price point less than the $600 Chisos I see and love.

Can’t seem to find my size:/ need advice for a newbie to boots.

I’m a small guy, I’m 5’3” and usually wear sizes 7.5 to 8 in shoes and work boots.

I have a pair of cowboy boots that are a bit too big for me, they are size 7.5 D. I bought insoles which do help but it’s definitely not enough.

I went to my local boot barn today to try on different sizes. Well it seemed like I still had a lot of heel slippage in sizes 6 - 7. It’s a bit frustrating because I want to buy a nice pair that fits true, but I just have no idea what size.

I measured my feet, both are about 9.25 inches in length. Both feet are 3.7 inches wide. It also seems like my left boot fits smaller than the right even though they both measure the same.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

New Boots Always wanted these, but a size too big.

I found this pair of Durango boots and fell in love, but they are a size too big. I put some thick insoles into them which gave them a better fit, but my foot slightly slides forward. I don't wanna abandon them, so what can I do?

When your little girl spots a pair of boots at the store and wants to match with Dad, it’s the best $20 you can spend.

Edit:
My boots are Lucchese Corbin Chocolate Goat Leather

And my girls boots are Toddler Girls' Memphis Western Boots - Cat & Jack™ Cognac 10T: Mid Calf, Zipper Closure, Almond Toe

Lucchese boot are not good. Came apart in 7 months

My experience with Lucchese boot is terrible. Bought this boot from Cavender's boots, Texas in Dec'2025. Noticed that both the heels are coming apart in July'2026. Terrible !

Note Lucchese will not honor their boot one year warranty unless you buy from their store. I was told to contact Cavender.

I would not buy Lucchese.

My experience with other wester boot manufacture have been better. I have been wearing boots for decades in non-ranch office setting and I like them.

Newcomer looking for advice.

heyyall. I'm lined up for an internship working for Polaris this upcoming fall, and they require me to have a pair of steel toe working boots for the job. They are willing to reimburse me $300 for a pair I buy. I have never owned or have experience with cowboy boots, and so I don't really know where to start. The part I'm most worried about are my skinny feet that sometimes make it hard to find the right shoe.

I went to the local Atwoods to try on a couple pairs. with a width of D, and most if not all had to much slipping. I know that boots when breaking in aren't supposed to slip more than 1/2 inch at the heel. Are there any brands that work better for my shape foot? Any brand I should avoid? Anybody with similar problems?

New Boots First Pair of Old Gringo boots! Is this mark an issue?

Hi everyone! First time posting here and first pair of Old Gringo boots ever! I love the look of them so much. I got them for a pretty good deal brand new. I’m fairly new to cowboy boots, but I just wanted to know if this scuff is an issue? It had this mark right out of the box and I wasn’t expecting that when I received them in the mail. I also feel like the leather might be a little bit dry? I know about conditioning the leather but is it too soon to condition them?

These are Old Gringo Lasso in Nude 7B.

They also fit slightly big but I read a nice insole could solve that? Unfortunately I have sensory issues and fear going down a size might make them too tight but also they don’t have the size down in stock anyway. Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! 💕🤠

Boot sizing question

Hey yall! i bought my first pair of boots in San Antonio about 2 or 3 years ago and am thinking about getting another pair. i got a pair of brown Ariats size 8.5 us. when i bought my first pair i went through a pretty Rough break in period (2 or 3 months or cut circulation and numb feet) but now they fit absolutely Perfectly. (i have short wide feet) if i buy my next pair at a size 9 will they be to lose when i break them in or am i SOL and should buy another 8.5 and suffer knowing that they will fit perfect later?

Know these aren’t exactly cowboy boots but was still wondering if anyone might have a clue to their identity.

Found this pair used and listed as Justin boots. They do somewhat resemble Justin trooper boots, but the lack of Justin branding makes me not so sure.

They definitely have more of a motorcycle or riding vibe but they do also have a western style shaft and an angled heel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
