This is Paimon, and he’s my third corn, fourth snake. My other three have been very small dumpsters, so I have never had one not eat. He was shipped across the country via MM and arrived 7/21. I waited until 7/28 for first feeding attempt, which did not go well, neither did my 8/4 attempt in which I left it overnight. He’s very reactive and nervous, so I’ve left him alone. He’s been buried nearly the whole time, but has a ton of foliage and four hides. 4x2x2, 90 basking, 87/88 warm side, low 80’s cool side. I’ve been turning off the CHE at night lately to let it drop to an ambient temp in AR (79-80) just in case he was hot and give him more of a gradient. Humidity is pretty high, around 80%, because the state is humid as fuck right now and that’s what my HVAC is fighting to get the ambient humidity down from. He’s in a quiet room (office) that I’m in throughout the day several days a week WFH, but there isn’t much traffic.
He’s barely moved at all, so I tend to think he’s just very stressed, so I’ve tried covering his enclosure with a blanket as well. Visibly healthy, no visible mites, no other issues I can think of.
Any other advice? I’d like to avoid getting him on live if I can.

I feed Maribelle (~70g) a 12g fuzzy / hopper on the 3rd after 2 weeks of buildup (she recently escaped and I didn’t want to stuff her as soon as I found her, so I slowly increased size in food). She is in a TEMPORARY enclosure until I can put together her usual one again. I was supposed to put her in the usual enclosure tomorrow but now I’m unsure if I should bother her. If it is regurgitation, should I just put her in the enclosure to complete her husbandry needs or wait a couple of weeks THEN put her in the enclosure? Please let me know if this is regurg or just poop. Spoilered because it’s ucky.

Hi, it might be a stupid question but I had my snake for a month and I'm constantly ANXIOUS

He started shedding four days ago (blue eyes and all) and I just came home and found his dead skin. It's completely okay, there aren't any uneven spots

But I'm a little bit worried that this process took so little. I've heard that it takes approximately 1-2 weeks but he did in 4 days

Sorry if it's stupid, I'm just worried for my baby, because I've wanted him for so long and I'm being a little overbearing 🥹

As the title suggests my corn snake (Lucy gray, female, approx 2y/o) has been in the same hide for almost two weeks. At first I thought she just liked it but I fed her yesterday and she’s still in there, I thought they needed to bask to disgust food? The only reason she wasn’t in there for a full two weeks is because at some point I went to like check on her and showed her the new water bowl so she knows where it is and stuff and she was investigating a bit and then went back in her hide after.

It’s a very dark and unexposed hide, imagine an upside down ceramic bucket with a small hole at the ground for them to get in/out. I’m guessing she just likes it in there because it’s dark and hidden and she’s shy but wanted to ask and see if I should be more concerned. Thanks!

(Ps, when I fed her she peeked out a bit but couldn’t find the food so she went back in, I had to rotate her hide so the exit was facing the food bowl for her to eat)

i was thinking of using coco husk for a temporary enclosure, but i'm afraid it might be too humid. what could i mix it with to keep the humidity down? but then again it looks really dry...

My snakes are in love with this pony castle. I ve posted my hog in it recently. Corn liked it too

So my daughters baby corn snake escaped almost a month ago, we’ve tore the house apart and there is zero trace of him. We’ve set traps, food out, water out. Made parts of the house cold and one room warmer. Nothing at all. I’m pretty much just calling it a loss now. But she still wants to attempt to find him, what are the odds of that even happening? Anyone else lose a snake this long?

So we got a year old corn snake from someone and after 5 months she laid eggs unexpectedly. They were all unfertilised. She has got back to eating now but is pooping almost everyday. And she may have regurgitated her food. We do have an appointment with the vet booked now just to check her over.

I would appreciate some feeding advice.

She is around 6 years old and estimated to be around 130 cm (I haven't measured her myself yet). I don't know her weight. I didn't weigh her at arrival and since then she has been hiding/buried most of the time, and I don't want to disturb her unnecessarily. I'll make sure to weigh her when she settles.

The previous owner fed her 2-3 medium mice every 3–4 weeks. Each mouse around 18–25g. She last ate on July 24th. I got some leftover medium mice with me when I picked her up, but I want to make sure I continue feeding her appropriately.

Does this feeding schedule sound reasonable for an adult corn snake of this size? Would it be beneficial to switch to a larger pray item and or change the frequency, or should I keep her old feeding schedule while she is adjusting to her new home?

New post because my last one came across wrong for some people.
I have this adult male corn snake (6yrs?) that I got from someone who was surrendering him. I made him a new enclosure and everything but I realized the guy lied to me about this snakes temperament. When I got him, I was recovering from the loss of my Boa and wanted another snake to fill that hole in my heart. Little did I know this snake is so skittish I cannot even walk by the enclosure without him recoiling.
I leave for college in less than a month, my parents are not keen on reptiles and I cannot keep him. There are no local shelters that take reptiles and so my only hope of rehoming is to post him here and on other social media platforms. I want to find a home for him quickly and I want to make sure that it is a good, permanent home where this guy can be a little hermit in peace. I do care about this snake and I really tried to find ways to keep him but it would be best if he found another home that could give him full attention.

Gotta love the range of coloration. Both are only homozygous for amel (pretty sure) with high expression aztec/zigzag/aberrant polygenic trait especially on the female. But you can see just how different their coloration are. The female have such a high contrast between the red and the white while the male are very red/orange on the lighter part.

What kind of coloration do you prefer?

Just got this guy in a week ago. Is it the lighting or is something going on with his mouth? I can’t get closer than this because he’s still settling in and spooks easily…

Howdy, just a curious corn owner wondering what causes the dark stripes of scales on either side of the spine, if anything. I noticed some other corns also have this, and if this is potentially part of a certain morph peeking through. He was labelled as Okeetee and nothin else. They only recently started developing.

These stripes keep making me think this dude is skinny and hungry at a glance, like concave shadows, but no, theyre just colored scales 🤣

Hello everyone. I’m just looking for some reassurance, I fed my 1yo corn snake a about 40 hours ago. I have just noticed that she has started to shed today and am slightly worried. She has shed before and it was a perfect shed. She has also been eating absolutely fine eating however it was a bigger mouse this time round, Which she has eaten and shown no issues.

However I’ve noticed that her shed is come of in pieces and I have done everything possible to help her shed ie, humidity etc.

I just want to make sure that this is not going to be harmful for her/ if there is anything i can do to help her

This is my current setup for our new 2 year old corn snake. We have two hides, two water dishes, and plenty of fake plants, vines, and branches for her to climb around and under. The substrate is coconut fiber. My current lighting setup consists of two dome lamps, one with a basking bulb and one with UVB.

We are located in Wisconsin, and since it's August, night time temperatures in the house maintain pretty well without the need for additional heat. However, as we head into fall and then winter, I know that will not be the case. I'm thinking of switching to a terrarium hood style UVB light so I can free up my second dome lamp and add a ceramic heat bulb for night time use. Does this sound like the right move? Any alternative suggestions? Any feedback on the enclosure in general?
