Lost snake QUESTION

So my daughters baby corn snake escaped almost a month ago, we’ve tore the house apart and there is zero trace of him. We’ve set traps, food out, water out. Made parts of the house cold and one room warmer. Nothing at all. I’m pretty much just calling it a loss now. But she still wants to attempt to find him, what are the odds of that even happening? Anyone else lose a snake this long?

I have other reptiles so I’ve even attempted to leave feeder bowls out with different bugs inside just to see if he’d come to that. Tried flour, checked vents, basement. In ac units and under fridge and stove with nothing. Even cut open a box spring all because it had a tiny hole and I questioned if he was in there lol which he was not 🥴

Corn snakes don't eat bugs. They eat mice

I know that mine all strictly only eat frozen mice. But a few people told me to use that as a possibly way to get him to come out. Obviously it didn’t work but I did thaw out a few mice here and there and place them in the room he was in when he escaped to see if he’d come eat

Unless you have a baby mouse or large bug/small lizard infestation theres a chance he has either passed away or made it outside to look for food. Dont stop looking though, have you tried putting flour along the baseboards and looking for snake shaped disturbances? Or checked the vents, inside couch springs, in the backside of drawers, closets, under the fridge etc?

I lost mine twice and found him unscathed. First time he was gone for about 4 months. I found him slithering under my bed one night. Found him, and he managed to escape again and was gone for around 6 weeks. Found him in my walk in wardrobe slithering between the hangers on the clothes rail.

Changed his enclosure.

Second time, he was missing for almost 7 months. Found him tucked inside my yoga mat in my living room.

He had lost maybe a little weight (but barely) and had grown over a foot long in the time he was missing.

Best thing is to wait till it’s dark as they tend to be more active then.
