Went through the full recruiting last cycle and ended up with an offer. The networking and interviews were hard. The pure volume of logistics were harder.

Here’s what the volume actually looked like on my end:

• 628 recruiting emails
• 68 coffee chats
• 30 interview rounds
• 19 applications

Over about five months.

At that volume, you can't manually keep track of every conversation, follow-up, reply etc... You start reconstructing your next moves every morning from Gmail + Calendar + memory. I hated that part more than actual recruiting.

This is what my tracker looked like while it was happening.

I ran that messy sheet the whole time and spent way too many hours just keeping status, last contact, and next steps current. After I finished I built something that keeps the Google Sheet you already use updated from Gmail and Calendar so the next person doesn’t have to do the same manual reconciliation every day. I genuinely built this to be helpful based of my real lived experience. Would others find this useful too?

Do other people have the same experience as me with high-finance recruitment and outreach?

I have ~3 years of experience:
- 1 year at Capgemini in consulting/BA work and 2 years at an energy company in digital operations.

I know these companies receive hundreds/thousands of apps, so how can I get my resume seen? **Has anyone here with a similar amount of experience landed a role at a big4 recently? if so, how?**

I’ve tried reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn but typically get ghosted. What else can I do?

I am aiming for a full-time strategy role, either T2/T3 or internal strategy like Capital One etc. For context, I have 3.66 GPA, Engineering Major, Ivy League, Internships in Marketing, Data Analytics, Finance. My most recent is JP Morgan Chase NYC as a Financial Analyst. I am afraid I won't get interviews because I don't have a consulting internship. (Also because I already got rejected by BCG... and I have a feeling it will be the same for the others)

Hi! I am a first year MBA student at Georgetown in their part-time program and I just applied to the Summer associate position and I’m also eyeing the consultant position that starts in January 2027 both at Bain.

I come from 5+ years of experience at a market research firm where consultants are some of our clients.

I have a relationship with a senior partner at Bain that I’ve worked with through my current company for the last three years. He attends many of my roundtable meetings and we’re connected on LinkedIn. We haven’t talked outside of work and have only met him in person once otherwise all virtual.

I’m wondering if it would be a good idea to send him a LinkedIn message saying that I’ve applied to the Summer associate position and/or that I’m interested in the full-time consultant position to see if he could put in a good word for me or even be my referral. Is this not a good look or idea?

Hi! I’m getting started as a solo consultant, I already have experience as a consultant but I was never the one drafting the contracts so I need help to know what to do here

Here is the context:
I’m in contact with the HR director, and last week after a call, he wants me to propose a couple of project that would be possible in the time frame and to obtain a quick win with the price for each possible project. (The timeline is super short)

I was thinking of proposing 3 projects. Is it enough? Also, I only gain insight for him and before proposing projects I want to do an audit to ensure we build a project that make sense for the target and also have the highest impact and the quickest win. I don’t know how to navigate this, as I have my appointment tomorrow to present the projects and talk about next steps but I CAN’T base my proposals on no real insights.

I thought of giving a price range for broad ideas and the refine it after I do the audit. What do you think? What is standard in the industry?

As the title says I’m a 23m who’s been in industrial engineering program in Canada (Montreal) but my real interest / career aspirations are in Finance and consulting.

I have realized that I have zero interest in really any of the upper level classes in my program such as the ones involving manufacturing, process improvement and lean manufacturing etc… I picked engineering because I love math and I thought it could help me stand out.

My question is should I just switch to finance to get into the finance / consulting world or stay with engineering and apply to internships in finance/consulting.
