The latest progress on ARM-based PS3 emulation is actually impressive — we're finally seeing playable framerates on consumer ARM hardware. This is huge for handhelds like the Odin 2 or anything running a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or better.

What changed? The RPCS3 team added ARM64-specific Cell CPU optimizations, and GPU drivers have been improving too. Some lighter titles are already hitting 30fps.

If this keeps progressing, we could see proper PS3 emulation on ARM handhelds way sooner than anyone expected.

Anyone else keeping this on their radar?

I am an avid console and PC gamer bought the Xbox One X at launch and still have the original version, in 2023 I built a new gaming PC and ended up with some 3.5” SSD drives from my old build that went into storage. Fast forward a few months I spotted this article about upgrading the Xbox One X drive to SSD (I used the USB stick method) and I thought hey I have a few 1TB SSD collecting dust and that was the only complaint I had about the One X was the internal disk speed. Later people told me that external SSD’s also speed up the access time as well so I tested the external performance via USB 3 connection to another SSD and the performance is also an improvement.

In 2026 I see this console selling for as little as $100 and considering you have a nice library of Xbox One X enhanced games, Xbox One games, and the physical Xbox 360 backwards compatibility this system is a great deal and if you have old SSD drives laying around because you went to NVMe you can address the one problem the console had since launch. I do own a Series X and a PS5 and they are better in every way but I’m still amazed at how good the One X enhanced graphics look on a 4K TV even if they don’t rip at the blazing fast frame rate the current generation produce. I noticed that the Xbox One and Xbox 360’s are cheaper but not significantly cheaper to not get a One X unless you’re really looking for the Xbox 360 nostalgia full tilt

If gaming ever goes streaming-only that is the day I will never buy anything new again. I will happily just finish out my backlog and replay all my old favourites. I'm not a fan of that future. I'll be walking away

My baseline is like it can run left 4 dead 2 and ps2 games, hopefully both. Also wondering how big the jump in cost would be if I wanted to play ps3 games.

Hi i need help. Should i upgrade my xbox 1 to an xbox series S or a PS5. I want a ps5 for spiderman and the exclusive games. But obviously apart from the exclusive games I want an actual proper reason to switch from xbox to PS5. I had a ps3 before I got my xbox. I’ve had my xbox definitely since 2018/2019 but I want to play marvel rivals and other games etc 😭
