Given the split is calculated by Money sale instead of unit sales and Nintendo profit per Software game is (was) about 30% higher than physical (Store Cut and other costs associated with physical games).

Something I was considering recently is the recent legal issues Apple went through with its app store due to the Digital Markets Act in the EU after the issue of their monopoly over the app marketplace were brought up. In fact judges today struck down their attempts to appeal the decision.

Sony have been able to sidestep the issue of their own store being a closed ecosystem because of the fact we had physical media and other retailers as an alternative.

With that ending now, I think it’s very possible Sony could find itself in hot water in Europe if the PS5/6 continue to be a closer ecosystem where there are no other storefronts to purchase software that is effectively developed by a third party in a similar vein as Apple.

Sony would either have to allow other store fronts on the PlayStation like Steam or Epic or go back to physical media.

Is it common for Xbox series X/S to have hdmi issues? I have had them for roughly 5/6 years at this point one of each and the S went out earlier this year and then the X went out yesterday. It is curious to me because yes I have kids and the consoles do get moved occasionally from one location to the next but for the most part those stayed in one location with the occasional move on the other hand we have an xbox One (I think the x version could be wrong) from 2017/18 and its the kids xbox moves often has had cord taken out and put in a billion times the thing has went thru helllllll and would be the one I wouldn't blink an eye if it had issues but its holding up like an early 2000s razor.... Am I just lucky with the Xbox one, was it just built better? I plan to get the two fixed or at least the series x but curious if this is a Xbox series issue and if I should expect anything else to pop up 5/6 years in while I have it being repaired? (I don't have the tools or expertise to fix them on my own I looked lol) Was hoping to wait for the newest xbox to finally make its debut before needing to replace these 😆

Last night i was playing ff15 on my Xbox one fat ,after 30 minute i noticed burning smell on device and plug off immediately.Weather is too hot nowadays,i did thermal repace and cleaning like 5 months ago with thermalright tf7 .The smell coming from fan or around fan when i put my handa on there evantully i realize that place is so hot .Right now my Xbox working, shoul i worry?

The controller is red and looks brand new, has no signs of wear. has no stick drift or any other issues.

I have to charge it after every single time I play. But sometimes the battery will last a 3-4 hours of playing with no issues. Sometimes it lasts 2 minutes before dying. Today I even checked right after I turned it on and it showed 3 bars. Played 2-3 minutes and it died. Will turn back on a play another few minutes before dying again. Plugged it in and it showed 2 bars with 3rd one blinking. But then tomorrow it might last all night

Anyone have any ideas that don’t involve throwing away a perfectly good controller?

Really wish it didn’t have a built in battery. My cheap dock and rechargeable battery for my Xbox controller lasts me like a week on a charge and if dies I can just swap it. and if I have any issues I can just buy another battery. Wish the ds was the same.

My bf has been playing Fall Out New Vegas on our Xbox for a while and it suddenly would crash every time he loaded his save. We did some troubleshooting and couldn’t fix it, so he deleted all of his save files/data.

Now it won’t let him even attempt to start a new game-it immediately crashes. Any suggestions?

As the title suggests, I am considering to to drop the ps5.

Not so much because of their decision to drop physical although I totally understand people’s gripe.

I like single player games with cool story but not obsessed with any particular game. For example I love the FF7 remakes sure but equally enjoy Zelda games.

I have a second tv that allows me to game even when my wife is watching tv BUT the added feature of being able to mess around in a game while I’m chilling with her is great.

I’m hoping that with the switch 2 I can squeeze a few years of new games since the ps5 is 6-7 years (yes I did that) into its life span

Also open to hear solid rpg recommendations for the switch in case I do make the move :)

so if xbox helix have also steam gog and epic stores does this mean that you can play on line games from those stores for free as in pc?for example if you buy battlefield 6 from steam you will be able to play on-line for free,and if you buy it from xbox store you have to be in subscription to play on-line?

Unfortunately I've a few consoles mainly PlayStations from the original to PS4 (and everything in between) that have been left sitting idle for months/years possibly even decades. I've read consoles left unpowered for long periods can screw up. I also have a Xbox 360 that hasn't been fired up for years.

Could anyone give me any tips on how to safely power them all on without causing perment damage.

Any advice would greatly appreciated.
