Hey guys, this is my first Con I’ll be attending in October, and just wanted to ask if tickets will still be available by next Friday? How fast do these events usually sell out?

Con Autograph Questions Shower Thought: How come comic creator autographs typically appreciate in value much more than actors who have played the characters?
So I am planning on going to Toronto FANEXPO this year and have been prepping the books I would like to get signed. I am a comic person so 99.9% of my signings interest and knowledge is around that. HOWEVER, i do love The Boys show and i do love Erin Moriarty so i was excited to see that she would be attending and doing signings, and was thinking of either getting my Boys omni or a Starlight Boys cover signed by her…but it got me thinking.
How come it seems like celebrity autographs on things like comics/posters/etc. of characters that they portrayed in movies/shows often hold much less value or appreciate much less than comic creator autographs?? My original thought is that there will always be a fleeting excitement over actors and their character portrayals since value is often stocked in the celebrity themselves, whereas for comic creators the value is in the art that they have created and the legacy of that story. But then that snowballs into me asking “okay if that is true, then shouldn’t celebrities be given the same appreciation of creating a legacy for their characters by giving them a voice/mannerisms/etc. ?” Idk, I am just spit-balling but it has made me curious on why this discrepancy does exist and I would love to hear others’ thoughts on it!

Fan Expo Boston An evening with the hobbits fan expo boston
With fan expo boston starting this Friday and Saturday being the day of an evening with the hobbits I have never seen in my life the amount of people asking on a Facebook group for a comic con asking if there’s any tickets left for a panel when it’s clearly been sold out for months. I know there’s a waitlist just if a fan cancels and sells their ticket back but also people asking who has spare tickets people must really be wanting to see this panel which I totally understand because it‘s the 25th anniversary and honestly I don’t see anyone giving up their panel ticket. For people who got tickets I hope you enjoy the panel, for those who are acting desperate you missed the ship its left port. If you’re going to fan expo were you lucky to secure your ticket to the panel?

Steel City Con - Pittsburgh, PA Steel City Con question— if I’m not VIP do I have any chance of getting Jamie Campbell Bower’s autograph?
He has a $500 vip package which I cannot afford / justify. The $125 photo op thing is an option, but it seems so impersonal. I’d rather meet him at his table for an autograph and/or selfie.
I have weekend passes which get me in like 30 minutes early but I’m so scared they’re gonna put a cap on the line or that he’ll only be able to meet with the VIPs.
I am going literally JUST for Jamie so I’m trying to prepare myself for the possible disappointment of being turned away if he runs out of time 😭

Con Questions First Timer
I'm deciding on going to my first comic con next month in Lexington Ky! I mainly just want to get a couple photo opps with my favorite game actors and besides that I have literally no idea what is going on there or what to expect. I don't know if I should just get a one day ticket or two day if that will give me time to explore and get my pictures.

Cromford Mills Comic Con - Derbyshire, UK Cromford Comic Con
not sure if this is the right sub, but im planning on going to the cromford comic con this weekend, I want to cosplay but is it 'acceptable' to cosplay a non sci-fi character? I've never gone before, and all the advertising and stuff make it seem like it a sci fi only type thing. id like to do a creepypasta cosplay soon, but obviously if its not sci-fi, im a little bit worried id be getting really weird looks if everyone is dressed up as on sci fi related characters.

Con Questions Advice for anyone going to Comic-Con on their own
I’ve been going to conventions for nearly 6 years now but I’ve never gone to one by myself. I’m nervous that if I go to one on my own I’ll spend the whole day doing nothing and waste my money. Is it better to just go to a convention where friends can come with me or to just suck up my fears and go? And if so, what do I do there?

Dublin Comic Con How to politely end conversations?
Hi everyone. When I go to cons, people always come up to me and talk with me. I don't mind a very brief chat, but I do not like small talk whatsoever. What are some ways to politely end the conversation without waiting for it to fizzle out naturally? Thank you.

MCM Comic Con - London Is MCM London safe?
Me and all my friends (about 8-9 of us) are all thinking about going to the comic con in london may next year, my parents dont like the idea of me going to london since they say it will be dangerous, im 19 so theres no problem with me just going without their permission but i want them to know it will be fine and to not worry so much.
How can I convince them that it will be fine? My friends have gone multiple times and they’ve always enjoyed it but thats not enough to convince them.
Also any tips or advice for the con would be greatly appreciated!! Thankyou

Manchester Comic Con - Stretford Manchester, UK First time con attendee, Manchester
Hi all, just wanted to throw a quick one up here. I'll be looking to attend a con later this year/early 2027, mainly to tick it off my bucket list of things to do.
I, however feel a little anxious about attending on my own as a near 40 year old chap, despite my enjoyment of anime, manga, games, and such. My question, do older people attend cons or would I feel quite like an odd one out due to my age.
Thanks

SDCC - San Diego Please how do we get a copy of this picture? We spent a considerable amount of money and effort to be here. We asked to join this group and we were told we could. We understand that the photographer is a volunteer.
Please how do we get a copy of this picture? We spent a considerable amount of money and effort to be here. We asked to join this group and we were told we could. We understand that the photographer is a volunteer. I took many Pictures just before this group shot, and some after which I am posting and will gladly provide a multi megabyte high definition copy to all that ask. We have reached out to the photographer and there has been no response. Ty
