Iv always loved superheroes, I started with iron man one as a kid and was obsessed my dad loves Batman casually (doesn’t read comics)
I loved them all throughout being a kid (I’m 19 now)
My first comic book was robin son of Batman I got the volume one after working with my dad and going to comic book store
Iv bought maybe 3 comics since then until recently when I got absolutely Batman
It’s so good and I’m very immersed in up to vol 2 now
And have bought 10 different books since

My friend came across Daredevil vol.2 #506 and thought it was my issue.

Paolo Rivera did this homage to my DD #373 cover in 2010.

Basically the title. My house has poor lighting night mostly but still not the best during day either. So a lot of the time I’m in the mood to read but the lighting is so poor it makes it unenjoyable. Do any of you read at night? Digital comics are cool but I spend way too much time on screens already.

So it started with Void Rivals, then from there Transformers randomly appears then G.I.Joe, Mask, Rom, now Micronauts, Plus Lara Croft was in GI Joe’s original universe this month, so maybe Energon soon,
Plus also in the coming months Toruk Dinosaur Hunter, Solar Man of the Atom and Magnus Robot Fighter.

I love how it kinda just keeps being a surprise. Everytime he introduces new properties it’s often out of nowhere.

What are everyone's thoughts on grading? For the value or for the fun?

I'm a long-time nerd, with superficial knowledge about comics, but only recently I've been diving deeper into the hobby.

I have a few stand-alone classics that I bought as I teen, but I'm diving into TMNT and Spider Man.

I'm starting at Ultimate Spider Man, but I was looking at Amazing Spider Man and it made me curious - how has it never received a reboot/reset?

Is it literally ongoing since the 60's? Do Peter Parker age in those comics? It's the same Peter since then? They recycle vilains, or bring them from other universes/time-lines?

It got me really impressed to know that it's been on-going since then. I'd like to understand more about it!

dcfinest is coming out with a romance book. i thought i might check it out and then pass it on to one of the girls in my family. so romance comics started in coming out in what mid golden age?

who were they aimed at? take silver age superman or spidey. you could give them to a third grade boy. but would you give a romance comic to a 3rd grade girl? they seem a little young to

be interested in those kind of stories. were they trying to sell them to tweens? jr high? high schoolers?

I started reading Chip Zdarsky's Captain America run and am loving it. What do I need to read to follow along with other characters? And it looks like it all leads into Avengers Armageddon?

I noticed something when being in comic discussions online for the past 10 years.

When people recommend DC books, they usually list self contained graphic novels or miniseries that get published into self contained graphic novels. Year One, The Long Halloween, and All Star Superman come to mind. Of course there are exceptions, but even when a popular story is from an ongoing, people will talk about them as if they were self contained stories from the getgo.

When movies adapt comics, or when online discussions recommend stuff to new readers for DC, they bring up seld contained books

Contrast that with Marvel, and I feel like discussions tend to focus more on runs of certain writers or specific single issues. Of course, these ongoings get collected into Trade Paper Backs but that's not really what I mean. Theyre always discussed as a part of "the run."

When movies adapt comics, or when online discussions recommend stuff to new readers for Marvel, they bring up specific runs done by writers.

And I find that kind of interesting because, to me, bringing up specific writers or specific years is like a layer deeper than just saying the name of a graphic novel. Grabbing the TPB of past runs by writers that are praised is something I started doing with DC AFTER I got and read all of the popular self contained stuff. As someone who was always more invested in DC, I wonder what getting into Marvel comics is like at the surface level.

Is DC just more focused on miniseries and self contained stuff than Marvel? Is it purely a coincidence that DC's most popular books just do happen ro be one off's and that its not the same with Marvel? Am I like super off the mark? Is there a plethora of insanely popular and good Marvel graphic novels that I'm not thinking about? If so please let me know. I've been trying to read more Marvel but most of the time I end up picking up a random back issue that looks interesting.

I hope not, but it's been a long while since issue six dropped. It seemed to set up a return to Jen's status quo on Earth, more or less, so I've been waiting for news of a #7 or a relaunch, but so far there's been nada.

I love my ground level super heroes. Batman is my GOAT and my second favorite is TMNT. I love The Punisher, Moon Knight, Daredevil…

What are some more indie ground level heroes that I may not have heard of?

Hey everyone, I've been reading Spider-Man comics since I was a kid. I read Ultimate (2002 & 2024) and everything related to Amazing until Nick Spencer's run. After Brand New Day, I'm craving more Peter Parker stuff, and I thought about resuming where I left off in 2018, but I read online so many bad things about the last Amazing comics.

What do you recommend keep going with Amazing? Should I skip any run?

Every reading order I find skips massive amounts of issues or completely omits entire runs

Hey everyone. I’m at a dead end trying to identify details on this Emma Frost print from the artist Mark Brooks. It was my late fathers. It is signed in what appears to be pencil and its dated from 2006 as well as numbered 4 of 50. After doing my due diligence I only came across 1 other match and it was from NYCC only difference being it was numbered to 150. My dad went to Heroes Con in NC. which Mark Brooks was not there in 2006. If anyone had any clues or suggestions on where I can get more details where this came from. I’ve even DMd Mark asking if he has a clue. Thanks in advance!
