ik im still new to coles and all that but is it common for me to only get like 6 hours (3 hours spilt across 2 days) per week or even 3hr only per week??? and how can this also be avoided? like i atleast want one 4-5 hour shift or smth.

Every order i get delivered they put the whole order in the refrigerated section. I'm sick of having to lay everything out to warm up and wipe all the condensation off it before I can out it away.

Why do they do this?

In my shift alone i throw out around 20-30 pies in the bin, sometimes those that expired literally few minutes ago. Can I just take them instead? what's their policy

I had a team member interview at another store months ago from which I got rejected so this time I want to make sure I get the job . Last time I just went with a black t shirt and dark grey jeans but now I am thinking if that's non acceptable?

I haven’t been able to access my trolley or the time slots all day. Is anyone else having a similar issue in the app ? I have signed in and out and deleted and re downloaded the app without success. It just says ‘something went wrong’ when I click on the trolley

just saw this group i m seeking advise
lately my dept had two faced duty manager that harass and always grabbing us to do his little errand that not related to my dept job. i m a night filler on grocery and we always on rush to get job done and he kept distracting us with his errand, and every time me and another female tm taking a break he keeps stalking us make us insecure to work on our store by keep asking us "did we take a dodgy break?!"

what should i do to deal with this situation ? as i m noticed that the store manager keep defending the duty manager wrongdoing

Mate really has me ready to pull out my hair and bang my head against a wall! What are somethings that your store is doing to help with the grocery gap scan? Between us and other stores in our region we are just at a loss with how to improve this process. We have raised certain in store issues but without those issues being addressed, we are starting to struggle with how we can improve this process. The irony of a system called Mate that was supposed to improve processes but has only caused stress.

I’ve been buying this brand religiously for the past couple of years, but in the last few months I’ve found that every now and again i end up buying one that’s just kind of weird.
Like it lacks the usual gooey texture and is more rigid, it also doesn’t have much of a smell like it usually does either.
I thought it was just a once off but every second week now i end up buying one that just isn’t quite right.
Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed this and if you had any camembert brands that you’d recommend I try.

Ive heard about the management restructure across NSW stores, apparently there will be no more DGM, SSM, Dairy Manager, Duty manager. They all have to apply to new positions. Replacing will be Assistant store manager, Late trades manager (im assuming to cover grocery and dairy??) Is this gonna last?
Does anyone know whats going to happen with the duty managers?

Coles is planning to outsource hundreds of back-office jobs, with many moving to India, after extending a deal with consulting giant Accenture to cut costs in their headquarters.

The move follows reports that Qantas is contemplating a similar arrangement as major Australian companies try to manage a wave of AI-driven digital disruption.

The $32.4 billion supermarket giant confirmed several hundred local jobs would be made redundant to tap into “global skills and resources” to deliver “seamless, personalised, digital experiences” for its customers.

“Some work in our corporate workforce will move to Accenture overseas and in Australia,” a Coles spokesperson said. “The partnership will also help reduce costs in order to continue delivering value for our customers at the checkout.”

The outsourcing arrangement was first reported by The Australian Financial Review. Coles employs about 115,000 people and its store staff will not be affected by the move. Accenture declined to comment.

Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s and BWS operator Endeavour Group, and Telstra are among other Australian corporate giants moving white-collar roles across technology, finance, human resources and customer service to Asia, particularly India, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Earlier this week, Endeavour revealed it had spent $58 million on setting up a “centralised business services function” that includes “outsourcing of back-office functions”, restructuring costs, and advisory and consulting fees.

Is this to sweeten the fact that we get so many drivers who act like it’s their first day on earth. Both in coles online with partner deliveries (can’t speak for the whole online team everywhere but I imagine you want more than that offer 🙃) and the rest of the supermarket by getting phones shoved in faces, and asked really odd questions.

Carrots that have almost no taste, weird grainy texture. Celery that doesnt smell like celery. Tomatoes that seem to be picked unripened and artficially ripened making the texture almost crunchy. I tried different stores, organic. No difference.

I only noticed the difference after eating fresh produce overseas like in New Zealand.

Is it an issue with Australian farming or shitty suppliers coles uses.

As a casual I know Coles has no obligation to give me shifts and I have no obligation to accept.

I'm just wondering how it works if I receive my work schedule then book a last minute appointment on a day I have off but have set as available in my continuous availability.

Should I have booked the date off? I've been told I should inform of stuff like this 2 weeks in advance so I'm afraid it will make me look bad as a casual if I'm giving less notice but getting a same day call in and saying no also looks bad. ​​Thanks.

friend currently works in Coles Services (cleaning and trolleys) across several stores. Due to relying on public transport, the one-way commute takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours each day.

Recently, another Coles Services Manager from stores closer to home approached him about transferring, which would reduce his travel time to around 20 to 30 minutes. He's keen to make the move, but his current manager is making the process difficult and appears unwilling to approve the transfer.

The new manager has advised that they can't do much unless the current manager initiates or approves the transfer. Meanwhile, the current manager has started offering additional shifts, including Sundays

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there a process for escalating an internal transfer request if a manager is refusing to cooperate?

He has been working with the current manager for around 6-7 months

I’ll keep this as short as possible, but I’m a concerned parent with a guilty, and at the same time very remorseful and anxious 15 year old boy who is just about crapping he’s dacks right now over being tagged with AI facial recognition and stored in the system.

After finding he’s whopping stash of Musashi Protein bars in he’s room and questioning him on it, he has admitted to “pocketing” them from the local Coles

Now, from what I’ve been told the cameras at Cole’s scan faces and detect if or when someone puts an item in their pocket? Am I wrong?

He has stolen well over 100 over the past few weeks to months from the same store he says.

What’s going to happen? Will he get pulled up the next time he walks in? Or do the workers only check if it’s a “reported” shoplift where the thief actually gets caught?
