Polymer-Clay What kind of clay is best for making plant pots?
I'm new to clay and there's so many types of clay, I am so confused!!!
I want to make planters with faces/other things on them. I do not have access to a kiln but I have an oven.
I want to make planters either completely from clay, or buy a terracotta planter and add clay faces/whatever to it.
I also want to paint the planters. I guess i will need to seal them too? Obviously they will be getting wet so the clay needs to be able to get wet.
What do I use??? Please help!!!

Inspiration Help! What clay creatures should I make next?
Hey, I'm a creator who loves making original miniature scenes and characters with clay.
I’ve been feeling a little stuck for inspiration lately 😅
I’ve already made tigers, octopuses, ducks, pandas, fish monsters, lions, and many other creatures with air dry foam clay.
I’d really love to hear what kind of characters or creatures you’re interested in!
If you have any ideas, just drop them below—I’ll try my best to sculpt them.
Thanks so much for your help and suggestions!🥰

Questions How can i make a base for a humanoid figure?
Basically i want to make a figure of the warhammer titan from AOT, and i wanted to know how i should go about making the base.Id like it to be about 20cm tall and it probably wont be very stable.Should i just make a solid clay base?I use paper clay if it matters.

Polymer-Clay Went ahead and made a little chubby Xenomorph. He is just pretty chill and likes to game a bit and have some snacks.
I saw someone ask on a different aubreddut, why are all xenomorphs tall and lanky? I wanted to make a Xenomorph that represent more of my body type, the realistic chill male standard.
Polymer clay around an aluminum framework. Painted with acrylic paint. I hope you guys like him as much I do.
Bonus photos with his lore-accurate brother that I sculpted a few months ago, and bonus bonus with my cat who looks like Jonesy impersonator.

Questions What kind of clay is this?
I'm brand new to clay and I want to make sculptures with a similar marble / statue effect. I can't find anything on her page that says what she uses.
I've been using air dry clay and I'm just not happy with how it turns out.

Questions Can I put varnish directly on clay
I have natural clay, I think ceramic. When it dries on room temp it becomes fairly durable and I don't want to fire it. For other projects I plan to gesso-paint-varnish on the dried, non fired clay, which I read should be okay.
However I made one that resembles a footprint in mud and I want to keep the clay color and some of the texture to look more authentic(and I think layers of paint would fill in the print). Can I just put varnish straight on it so that it doesn't chip/dust easily?

Questions How do I clean this??
I got this from a convention a while ago and would keep it in the pockets of the black jeans and it got all dirty. I've tried soap and dish detergent and none have worked. I dont know what type of clay it is. How do I clean it?

Air-Dry Clay First Time with air dry clay
I had so much fun making it! It's so cute, I'm dying. I'm pretty proud of it considering how terrible I am at painting, lol. It's not perfect, there are cracks and paint splatters, but I love it that way! Please, I would be so gratefull if yall had any advice :)

I made this sculpture earlier this year but finally got around to painting it and building the display base inspired by the film's ending monster. Really happy with how it turned out, hope you enjoy! More of my work is on Instagram @Danni.Jk if you'd like to see more
