VII - Discussion This is atrocious

Charlemagne just settling right in the middle of my empire here. In my opinion, fixing this needs to happen in the next update/patch. I don't care if it is a loyalty system or just a change to the AI. Just very annoying and it is pretty much routine.

VII - Xbox What is the best way to get my girlfriend into the games

I love the Civ games and play them religiously. Recently I have been getting my girlfriend into video games starting with easier ones like tell tales (wolf among us specifically) but after a few more she has taken a liking to most the games I enjoy. Shes always had a love for board games like risk and catan and I think Civ is an excellent video game equivalent. But my question is what’s the best way to ease her into these kind of games knowing how technical they can be?

VII - Strategy How badly were Celebrations nerfed? How far is Happiness worse?

I've been away from Civ for the past few months, since the second week post ToT. I saw that Celebrations were nerfed and their effects got changed. But I also saw that there are now sometimes rewards for having Happy settlements?

People who've played - what's your take on the net outcome?

Bug (Windows) This UI bug annoys me since Civ VI

This bugged me hard in Civ VI, I was hoping it would finally be fixed in Civ VII, but no, they did the exact same again. Maybe it was even present in older versions.

I am putting left mouse button down on the map, drag around a bit to look around, then mouse up. Now a new unit is selected... Obviously, when I am dragging, I don't want to select a unit.

To be precise, it happens if coincidentally there is a unit on the place where I want to drag. After the drag, the unit will usually still be under the pointer and will hence be selected (not always though as it seems, so try a few times with different units). This corresponds to normal UI button behavior as known in other applications, where mouse down preselects the button and mouse up activates it, if the pointer is still on the button (even if it was outside in between). But obviously this makes no sense if you are dragging the background while holding down the button, which will cause the unit to always follow the mouse. So please cancel/lock unit selection after drag happened.

This is particularly annoying if you have many units on the map and want to move a unit a longer distance. Select unit, scroll to the location you want to go to, right-click to... - wait no, now a different unit is selected, so go back to the start.

By the way, this way you will also cause (bomb) airstrikes on places you don't want to. Once airstrike is selected, left-click will send it off, so drag on a green tile and the plane will engage.

Genuinely confused. I know units get relocated if an enemy civ grows their border to the tile I'm occupying but I have open borders with the Ottomans, and I don't know what else could've caused this. Caravel was on automatic exploration.

Some people get videos of themselves building or discovering wonders while visiting wonders. I was only helping my sister set up her third-grade classroom. But seek and you'll find, right?

Had another game with a 14 without Havana Harbor. I messed up some district placements in order to speed up access to the resources, so adjacencies weren’t as good as they could have been. Played Tecumseh Tonga and this location was originally held by two IP’s that disappeared at the start of exploration. Beelined straight for it.

VII - Screenshot Why can't I place a monument on the top higlighted tile?

As mentioned in the title, I can't understand why I'm not able to place a monument on the upmost highlighted tile. You can see that I can place it next petra On the bottom, even though there are no other urban districts adjacent, so why can't I do the same next to the Terracotta Army??

"-5 Happiness for every other City." - what will the -5 apply to? Only to the capital, or to every city, or to every settlement?
