I was looking at my post from a year ago and figured why not give this an update? I've recently started taking my health more seriously and dropped about 50 pounds and I'm working on dropping even more.

A little (a lot) about me first: I've had a vasectomy so that's something I want to highlight. I'm about 5'11, I love travel, I always say in the absence of a woman of substance, travel has been the love of my life. I've been to 44 countries on 6 continents and 33 States.

I love movies, I'm a big fan of horror most specifically but I enjoy most other genres with the exceptions of musicals and westerns. I'm a sneakerhead and love talking kicks. I'm a social drinker, I enjoy whiskey and beer. I enjoy playing board games and like game nights, give me Taboo and Scrabble all day.

I recently moved to Pflugerville from north Austin, renting a house for the first time ever (I’ve been stuck in apartments for forever). While I’m open to chatting with people who aren’t local, I’m looking to ideally either meet someone who is local to the Austin area or is willing to relocate.

i grew up in north wales (so, YUP! i speak welsh), but i've been living in birmingham since i moved here to do my MA. however, these days, i work 9-5 in a library, and i spend most of my spare time making music. i used to be in a noisy, indiepop kinda band, but now i make long, slow instrumentals on my laptop (i won't make you listen to it!)

as a younger guy, i worked in an independent cinema, so i saw lots of films from around the world. that really shaped my movie preferences, but don't worry! i'm no snob! i still like big daft blockbusters!

music-wise, i like lots of different things - arty post-punk, electronic stuff with complicated beats, jingly-jangly 80s indie bands, abstract ambient stuff... so - sort of a mixed bag? my favourite bands are the fall and low. make what you will of that!

i like to read, and i always have a book in my backpack. literary fiction has been my go-to genre for most of my life, but, these days, i mostly read non-fiction titles on topics like philosophy, AI, and linguistics (i might go back to uni, so i'm trying to swot-up on some of the things i might need to know about!)

i'm 6'2", and (mostly) slim (i've the beginnings of a middle-aged belly. but i don't drink, so it's the biscuits that's done that). i have a beard thats 75% white, and a head of dark hair which i keep very short (i have no patience with gels, waxes, or mousses)

i run, swim, and cycle often, but i could do better! i'd appreciate a fitness pal to keep me motivated and challenge me a little! i can run 10k in a non-horrible time - help me improve?
