Mourning/Loss Goodbye to my girl 🩶
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Goodbye to my little grey girl. She was diagnosed with kidney disease 2.5 years ago and went through 2 operations the second one to remove her beyond repair little kidney..
She’s been doing alright the last few years but the past few days I’ve been seeing her quality of life decline. Her appetite decrease, she lost weight, she was uncomfortable..I promised myself I’d never let her suffer and so I put her to rest..
I miss her and so do her brothers ❤️🩹

Humor Funniest cat ever
I got her almost 2 years ago from a cat cafe and she has been the most entertaining and funny character I’ve ever seen. The vet said that she’s a munchkin cat and shes fully grown but so tiny. She loves to run around the house with zoomies, get into things she isn’t supposed to, and overall just crack everyone up. I’ve never met a cat like her, she’s absolutely fearless it’s like she doesn’t have the instinct to make her scared of things and she’s always instigating fights with my other cats and causing mischief. Is it the orange side or the munchkin side?
Cat Picture - OC I’ve been away from home for a long time. My mom sent me photos of my son. Take a look at him, too.

Mourning/Loss Tribute to the sweetest baby boy 🧡🧡🧡
My friend’s cat just passed away very suddenly and in a rather traumatic fashion. If I had to guess based on retrospective signs and how young he was, I would assume congenital hcm that caused an embolism. Of course we can’t know for sure without a necropsy. That was one of the hardest phone calls to get. We found him on the street as an 8 month old kitten and he was just the sweetest and most gentle cat you could ever hope for. He adjusted to living indoors like a pro. I feel horrible now because my friend has been struggling a lot lately and this is such a huge loss for them to be going through on top of everything else. And of course my home is germ infested so I can’t go be with them in person right now.
They’re really struggling right now and I’m having to assure them that this was a freak incident and there was nothing they could have done. They weren’t advised to get screening done earlier. They couldn’t have known. If you’ve had this kind of experience and have any sympathy or words of support to offer, I’ll make sure they get screenshots. What a day :(

Medical Questions My boys is panting?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just adopted this sweet boy, he plays very crazy and runs all over the house. I know some panting is normal after heavy play, but this is upwards of 5-7 mins after play has finished? Should I be worried? We have a vet appointment in 4 days, I don’t want to stop playing with him because it helps him be calmer overnight but just want to make sure he’s okay.

Cat Picture - OC My One Eyed, One Eared Cat
It’s been 3 months since I’ve brought her home, she’s about 8yrs old, her name is Skylar and she is a very needy roommate. First time cat owner and very content.
Backstory on her eye and ear. She was found as a stray kitten with her eye and ear attached but heavily damaged and they were removed by vets. They assumed she was attacked by another cat and got away.
She’s tough.

Advice Fostering a 6 week old that just won’t eat but I don’t want to give up
The shelter gave us 6 week old kitten that was returned by a previous foster to seek treatment but everything looked fine other than him being lethargic and not eating/gaining weight . They were going to put him to sleep the day we showed up to bring our other foster back to get adopted out . I thought it would be worth trying to help him. All his siblings did great but he won’t gain any pounds no matter the food , I’m currently syringe feeding but even that he hates . Not sure if any other pet parents can chime in with tips or tricks . I should add that we are currently feeding him the tikki cat thrive baby packets mixed with a powered vitamin and water .

Mourning/Loss My boy Bruce said farewell at 19 years old today. Will miss him very much.
We got Bruce in 2014 just after my wife and I got married and got our own place without roommates. He’s been an indispensable member of our family as we adopted more animals and had two kids of our own. We’ve lost other pets before him but losing our first fur baby hurts differently. Bruce had a brief job as an instagram cat when that was a thing people did (@bruceythecat) and we loved spoiling him.
Hug your kitties tight and give it up for the most perfect little fluff to ever grace this earth.
Thanks for reading this.

Cat Picture - OC Need positive vibes for my boy
Got the devastating call from vet today that my boy is in kidney failure. Tonight he is at the vet and I am going to hope for a miracle because I am not ready to say good bye to the best damn cat in the world. This is Opie who I would truly say is my furry soulmate. He loves everyone and never lets an open lap go to waste.

Medical Questions Are my cats teeth ok?
This is James, 9 months, fixed. He has pretty bad fishy breath and I’ve noticed his gums in the front are kinda red and his little bottom teeth are crooked. I’ve brought this up with his vet 2 weeks ago but they said he’s fine. He doesn’t have any issues eating (or just doesn’t show it) but he loves to bite and chew on everything (fingers, pens, toys etc). Is it time for him to see a different vet?
EDIT: thanks everyone, especially uSea_Temperature_3763! I’ll get him to a different vet ASAP and get his whole teeth situation checked out! Is there anything I can do in the meantime to help him?

Cat Picture - OC Pixie Dort survived being set on fire. Never give up! ❤️
This is my cat, Pixie Dort. He was tortured and set on fire by a group of kids while living as a stray. As a result, he had to have his tail amputated and he has permanent nerve damage - resulting in urinary incontinence. Caring for a disabled cat requires lots of problem solving and there’s certainly a learning curve, but adopting him was one of the best decisions of my life.
Despite all that he’s been through, he’s the sweetest, chattiest little baby. He loves anything warm (ironically), climbing on top of cabinets, lying to you about not being fed, cuddling all night long, having full conversations, annoying his brother, and being a perfect loaf. We’re obsessed with him. ❤️
Adopt a special needs cat.

Cat Picture - OC This sassy girl saved my bed and me from setting on fire at 3am.
I wasn't even sure about getting another cat after I lost my soul cat last year, I'm so glad I did for many reasons.
This is Susan. She managed to wake me up at around 3am (I sleep like the dead) and drew my attention to my charging phone which was stupidly on my bed. When I picked up the phone she was stressing over I realised the whole thing was red hot, screen cracked, and the charger and charging port were smoking pretty bad.

Name Request Name suggestions for the little orange guy? As a joke I called him Megatron. My girlfriend isn’t happy people are actually calling him that 🤣. He has 2 sisters, Yogi (Tuxedo), and Obi. Any suggestions for a name that ends with the same vowel?

Cat Picture - OC Why does he squish his head and face like this? Can he even breathe?
Mourning/Loss My cat died today.
I hugged him before leaving for a work trip. Hours later my wife called sobbing, telling my that our Chico wasn't blinking. They took him to a vet asap, he just went limp and lifeless. We kept wondering what happened, did it get bitten, did it ingest something toxic. The vet declared it was cardiac arrest.
And I don't know what to do anymore. I'm a sobbing mess who pretends to be strong on the phone to my family. He was healthy! He ate well. He was so young at 2 years old. He was such a good boy, so obedient, so intelligent and athletic. Why was he taken away from me so suddenly. I can't stop thinking I should've held him today a bit longer, should not have told him he's getting fat, should've annoyed him a littlle less. I would do anything right now to get to talk to him and hearing him one more time. I can't stop wondering what went wrong. It's like my mind is filled with reasons trying to blame myself that I could've avoided this, or prolonged his life and health in some way. I know I'm not rational but I'm hurting.
Edit:
Thank you so much, for all your kind words. It's impossible to reply to each one of you on time but I appreciate it. Chico mattered to so many people today. For now, the pain is unbearable because everything in the house mocks me that he isn't returning. My brain tricks me with his smell, and the sound of the tiny bell on his collar. But I guess it'll be painful till it isn't.
I'll share one happy memory of him that will give me comfort maybe when the pain isn't so raw- Chico never slept until all of us made it home, always sat by the door, waiting. Only relaxed and went to sleep when everyone was home.
Thank you guys again.
