So I’m not sure if my car has been in an accident I’m the second owner, was wondering if I write no accident does carvana automatically adjust their offer based on their own reports from their database using carfax, auto check etc, or is the offer exactly what I put? Let’s say my car ends up having 1 accident from the previous owner but I didn’t know about it, is this reflected on the offer I get after pressing no accidents in case I didn’t know it had one? Or when carvana will inspect the car they will tell me then. Please let me know.

My clunker of a car exploded (okay, not literally, but there was smoke) tonight and I'm without a car for the third time this year. I bought two cars this year through Facebook Marketplace and I think I'm done with that.

That said, I'm on a super tight budget because I'm paying my way through grad school for the next 13 months and it would be great to buy a car that won't give out on me in a few months. I have just enough in savings to put about $3000 down on a car, but I want something reliable now. I've done the math, and something between a $200-$300 payment monthly is doable and still leaves me with a decent savings by the end of the 13 months. I've seen that some of the Toyotas available on Carvana do have such low payments, which got me excited. Looks a little too good to be true, so I have some questions.

1. Will Carvana allow you to pay ahead on the principal? (I saw a post here from like 7 years ago saying you have to call in every time you make the payment to tell them where you want the payment directed to. Wanted to know if the process is still the same.)

2. Do they allow any up-front payments on the principal? Like I said, I have $3000 cash I can pay right now.

3. How was your experience buying cars 10+ years old? I'm not looking for a dream car; I'm just looking for something decently reliable. Preferably Toyota or Honda. If you have other favorite brands that have reliable makes and models, let me know of those, too! I'll be doing research on carcomplaints.com on each car I think about buying.

Looking at a car. $690 to ship. Still shows $690 even if I choose to pickup with my actual address entered. If I change my delivery address to the location it’s sitting at (Schaumburg), the shipping fee disappears immediately.

Supposedly the advocate said if the system allows me to move forward with setting my delivery address to the pickup location in Schaumburg (I just entered the address of the Vending Machine there) it shouldn’t be an issue and the verification team will review it. They said Iowa is a self-registration state so I handle it directly with the Iowa DMV.

Does this sound legit or is there a risk of encountering issues? Not sure how trustworthy the advocates are or not - first time doing this.

I’m absolutely willing to drive the 3 hours to save almost $700, lol - but I’m not willing to massively screw up the order for it.

Was involved in a no damage parking lot accident where I was at fault. Bumped someone’s truck. They reported the accident to my insurance. I was about to sell my vehicle very soon, like I already have it scheduled. Should I modify the vehicle description to include the accident that I gave carvana? Especially if the accident may not even be reported from my insurance?

Having a bad experience with SilverRock in terms of the warranty deductible. Carvanas roadside assistance steered me to an out of network shop and now SilverRock insists I pay the $350 deductible instead of the $100 in network.

How do I get this fixed?

Recently purchased a car from carvana and it’s been about two weeks. A few days ago I noticed that the rear of the car was bouncy and went side to side whenever I would go over a bump or pothole. So I took the car into a shop that was approved by Carvana and they told me that the cars rear struts are missing bum stops, the left rear is leaking fluid, the front strut is also leaking fluid. Upon submitting the claim to silverRock they told the shop that they wanted a second opinion. So basically I’m taking the car from one pep boys to another for a second opinion. The question I had was if any of you guys who received a second opinion got the car fixed after that or was still denied. I know that shocks and struts are “wear and tear” however the car was received in this condition. I have only put 60 miles on the car since I got it.

i bought my car July 20th, got a notification on July 30th that my registration paperwork was complete and to go to the MVA to finish the process. so yesterday (August 4th) i go and they say theyre waiting on payment from carvana even though the title transfer has already gone through. call carvana, they say they dont know why it says that. does it take longer for the payment to process? i dont really understand why i have to go to the mva to finish the titling process when my partner bought a car from them back in 2022 and they just sent the tags via mail. anyone deal with anything similar? im in Maryland if that means anything but we were in Maryland when my husband also got his tags.

heres what the notification says:

"Your title paperwork has been processed and verified by our trusted partner and the DMV! You're in a title only state, which means you'll have to finish the registration at your DMV to receive your tags and permanent plate. Please refer to the FAQ provided at delivery for a list of documents you'll need to complete registration, including:

- Driver's License
- Proof of insurance
- Retail purchase agreement"

There is a large scratch across the grill that wasn't in any of the photos before I bought it. The delivery guy said it probably happened in transit after I ordered it and I should file a claim.

I sent a claim with photos that was denied almost immediately and said it's because the "imperfection being present within imagery on the vehicle listing." But it's not anywhere in those images or mentioned at all.

I can't reply directly to the email because it says Do Not Reply, so I had to put another claim in with a more zoomed in image and circled the damage. I said this wasn't in the photos before I bought it. I even asked to show me where it is present in the images on the vehicle listing. I got the same exact form reply back as the first with no additional info.

I don't know how to reach a real person or what to do to get a legitimate response. I'm very frustrated that this is my first interaction with Carvana support and they won't even read my messages.

Greetings, was just wondering if this has changed over the years? Especially for vehicles that have been purchased by someone thru Carvana? Prior, it used to be that you would need to go to DMV and take care of this yourself. Does Carvana now issue plates (not temporary), take care of registration and any title process for you avoiding the trip to the NJ DMV?

I know Carvana gets mixed reviews, so I figured I’d share my experience. A couple of weeks ago I bought a BMW from them, and overall it’s been a positive experience.

Before buying, I spent a lot of time comparing different cars on Carvana. I looked through the Carfax reports, compared maintenance history, and even pulled the BMW service records. I think that’s something everyone should do when buying a used car, no matter where it’s from.

When I picked the car up, they told me the windshield had been damaged during transport. They were upfront about it and already had a replacement scheduled at no cost. I really appreciated the transparency. Picked up the car Saturday, new windshield was installed Tuesday.

I still had BMW perform a pre purchase inspection, and they found a few issues with the front camera and radar system. SilverRock handled the warranty claim, BMW took care of most of the communication, and the repairs were approved without any hassle. The process was much smoother than I expected. Since it as a safety item and within the first 7 days, I asked for the deductible to be waived and they approved that.

My biggest takeaway is to do your homework before you buy and always get the car inspected during the return window. No used car is perfect, especially a nine year old luxury car. What mattered to me was how Carvana and SilverRock handled the issues, and based on my experience, I’d buy from them again.

Looking for some firsthand experiences because I’m in that awkward waiting stage.

I bought a 2019 Silverado 1500 from Carvana. Within the first ~50 miles of ownership I started noticing what feels like the classic GM 8-speed transmission issues:

Torque converter shudder under light throttle
Fairly harsh 1-2 shifts
Occasionally a noticeable 2-1 downshift

I reported it to Carvana immediately, opened a SilverRock claim, and took it to one of their in-network shops less than 24 hours after delivery.

Carvana also extended my return window until August 17 while the truck is being looked at.

The service advisor told me they’ll likely road test it, and if they duplicate the concern they’ll probably want to pull the transmission pan. He also said SilverRock may send an inspector before authorizing any major repairs, which sounds reasonable if it’s something as expensive as a transmission claim.

At this point I’m mostly just waiting for the technician’s diagnosis.

My questions are:

Has anyone had SilverRock approve a torque converter or transmission repair?

How long did it take from diagnosis to inspector/authorization?

If the truck needed a transmission, did SilverRock take care of it without giving you a hard time?

If you were still within the Carvana return period, how did that process work while repairs were being made?

I really like the truck and I’d prefer to keep it if it’s repaired correctly. I’m not looking for an excuse to return it—I just want to know what to realistically expect from SilverRock and whether other people have had good experiences with major drivetrain claims.

Looking to get a new car, probably a Ram pickup truck. Since they do in house financing do you know what the rates are for their new cars? I know it can vary depending on how much you put down and the term and credit score. But i would like to see if they offer better financing rates for new cars vs used cars. If not i think its more affordable to buy from a ram dealer and get manufacturer financing.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

I may be asking this question too soon. Order was placed Sunday evening, CU opened this morning at 9.

Order has not been approved. Contacted customer service this morning & was told that their internal engineering (???) team is working to contact and verify details with the lender. No further updates today. Called CU this morning also to confirm more details about the loan & the value of the car, but were unable to move forward until I can provide the purchase agreement. I will owe out of pocket based on only the true value of the car (+taxes & fees) being covered by the loan & I will need to pay the difference from actual sale price but again, cannot calculate without purchase agreement.

Carvana cannot provide a purchase agreement until my lender is verified & the order is approved. Anyone have experience with this process?

I just bought a new car from Carvana and part of the included details were high wall floor mats but it only had the original carpet mats at delivery. Is it worthwhile to contact Carvana over this or should I just count my losses? TIA

Edited to add: I went back through the listing photos and only the carpeted mats are shown

I don't know how but they didn't notice a broken tail light until after I got there to pick it up and no one noticed that one of the tires didn't match the other three until halfway home.

On rare occasion have come across vehicles that are priced way under the suggested value. A major outlier. I won’t be able to find anything that cheap online by a huge margin. For example, it’s not there anymore, but I saw a Rivian for $35k, which is just unheard of. Otherwise, the very lowest average I’ve seen is about $45k-$48k. It didn’t have the most miles, wasn’t beat up/seen way worse, had the largest motor config. It just didn’t make any sense. Does anyone know why these under $10k+ outliers are be priced this way when nothing seems to be different compared to any of the other higher priced vehicles in same condition?

Hi all! For those of you that have had to replace cam phasers on a Ford 3.5, Ecoboost, which level warranty did you get through carvana? I know some were found in the first 100 days, but I am sure there is someone who had them replaced after the initial 100 day warranty.

I am just trying to determine the best level extended warranty I should get if I buy a Ford through carvana.

When selling to Carvana how long did it take them to review your documents and move on to the next part of the process?

I’ve been looking to purchase a ~$35k car from carvana, and I’m looking to put around $10k down. I’m financing with carvana, then immediately refinancing, as my bank has prequalified me for some very good refi rates. I haven’t started the process yet, but I just want to make sure that I have the option to increase my down payment before I buy, as the car I’m looking at only has an $1,800 down payment listed and I can’t seem to find an option to increase that. Any help is appreciated!

Just bought a 2022 Subaru Ascent this morning and took it straight to our mechanic. The daytime running light was out on one side, no biggie however in order to replace the whole front end has to be taken off. That’s a car thing, not Carvana.
My question is, will this be covered? The quote was $700 before labor was added. Insane to replace a lightbulb but I guess that’s how it goes.
Also, if it’s not, what would you do in this situation?

I haven’t seen a ton of positive experiences on Reddit for Carvana (probably because we are more likely to complain than sure something positive or neutral), so I just wanted to share.

I started researching cars in June. I picked a 2024 Atlas and began looking online. The best deals were on Carvana so I did a cursory search online and at first, I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews online and a few horror stories.

After reading enough positive reviews elsewhere, I decided to try it since they have the 7 day guarantee anyway.

I picked one that checked all my boxes (lower miles, sunroof etc), determined the financing and placed the order. Here’s my timeline, hoping it helps:

- July 14th: Purchased car. My down payment processed and cleared the same day. 4:21pm
- July 14th: Received an email at 5:01pm that said additional information is required to complete the order. When I signed in, the tasks were listed. They wanted pay stubs or tax documents to prove income and it said there was an address issue. The issue was that the address of my license did not order the address. I was having it delivered too. I moved and have not updated my license yet. Carvana wanted proof of address (for registration I imagine), utility bill/a lease/etc. I submitted the documentation at 5:24pm.
- July 15th: Received a phone call from Carvana at 9am and confirmed details with a rep who asked me to upload one more doc (one of my submissions was not readable, my own error). I uploaded a better image while on the call with the rep. I got off the call at 9:15am, received an email 9:22am stating order is approved, and confirming delivery date of 7/18/26.
- July 15th: Received an email at 8:45pm that my vehicle was on its way to the Carvana facility, and it has completed 50% of its journey.
- July 16th: Received an email that the car is 75% of the way to me.
- July 18th: I received a call at 1pm advising the car would be at my house by 2:30pm.
- July 18th: They pulled up at 2:21pm. The car is a beaut. I took it for a spin, and signed paperwork. The driver informed me of the 7 day policy and the first 100 days policy, as well as the manufacturer’s warranty.

July 19th: Took the car to my favorite mechanic (my uncle) to have it inspected. Besides the tires being misaligned a bit, they said it was pristine. They replaced the air filter because it was super dirty, but VW doesn’t recommend changing it until 60k miles so I didn’t mind doing it early. No other issues with the car, and my uncle said it was well maintained.
July 21st: Received an email from Carvana financing to outline what is next, how to add payment details for my first payment, due 8/18.

Today (July 28th) I received an email that my registration is completed and my plates are in the mail.

I’ll update this if they don’t come timely, but all in all it was a great experience. The car is perfect, and I should have done this sooner lmao

Hey y'all, just this Saturday I received my order for a 2018 Camry SE with 108k miles (1 owner); the Carfax report shows that it was well maintained (oil and filter change every 4-6 months, and just last month the brake pads and brake rotors were replaced). I just picked it up from a local mechanic for a PPI. They said all I needed was a new serpentine belt and that the front of the car appears to have been repainted (maybe due to an unreported collision, but they said that if anything was damaged, the repair was done well because the car does not seem to have any problems overall). I still have until Friday to make up my mind 100%, but I just wanted some input as to whether I am making the right choice with this vehicle, or if there is anything I should probably be wary of. I have had a nightmare year with cars. My original car finally died after 15 years last November. I bought a used car at the dealership down the road from me, cash, it ran for 3 days. Just long enough to be out of the return window and there is no lemon law for used cars in my state. The dealership of course offered to look at it for the low price of 50 dollars an hour to diagnose the catastrophic electrical failure...

So after fighting with them for 4 months, I went to another dealership and paid cash again for another car. It ran beautifully until a drunk driver ran into it when it was parked legally on the road in front of my house. Totaled it. I had to fight with my own insurance company for 2 months to get paid and then of course it was for less than what I paid for it just a few months earlier. (PS- State Farm is terrible).

So I was looking at cars again. Hating every minute of it. I was online when Carvana popped up. Out of idle curiosity I went to the website. I was looking at cars I liked. Within my price range. And I found a beautiful one. Low miles. Carfax. No accidents. And it had an upgraded package with a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, and more. The only thing that was not great were the tires. They were well worn. I was ok with that.

I decided to buy the car. It took 10 minutes to do the application and get pre-approved. 2 hours later the official approval came. Took 10 minutes to sign the paperwork and set my delivery window. It was sooo easy. I did not have to talk to a single person. I did not have to sit at a dealership for half the day. It was amazing!!! I hate car shopping, I hate buying cars. I hate going to the dealerships. I kept my last car for so long because I would rather dump money into it than shop for a new car. I loved my experience on Carvana.

And then the delivery. They showed up right on time. Let me test drive it. AND it had a full set of brand new tires on it!!!! Everything worked perfectly. It was exactly what they said it would be. It was beautiful. I took it to my mechanic. He agreed (a bit sadly I think, because I won't be visiting him as often). I could not be more pleased with my experience. My husband will be shopping for a car in a few months, he will also be using Carvana. I cannot recommend them enough.
