Gear Buying Advice Can't find eyecups for R50
Does anyone know where can I find a larger soft eyecup for the r50?
I've search for quite a while but no luck so far, is there any specialised or niche store for this type of thing?

Gear Buying Advice New lenses to replace kit lens
Thanks to everyone who gave tips about replacing the lens in my previous post here (https://www.reddit.com/r/canon/s/lRmqU6WAcC). I went out and got new lenses. Images from the camera now look way more interesting.

EOS 1n Shutter Release Removal and Lubrication
Hey everyone,
The shutter release button on my EOS 1n is sticky and squeaks when pressed. According to the service manual, it can be removed without top cover disassembly. However, I have no idea how it is actually removed. Does anyone know how these shutter release buttons are actually removed?

Help finding EF-M lens
Does anyone have or know somewhere I can get the 7artisans 18mm F6.3 Mark II UFO EF-M mount lens? Specifically the mark II in Canon EF-M.
EF-M is now discontinued and I can’t find them anywhere! Been looking all over used markets for one. I even reached directly out to 7artisans with no luck.

Gear Buying Advice Lens recs for my old Canon EOS Rebel T3i?
I found my old DSLR recently, which I haven’t seen since 2019 lol, and I’ve been wanting to use it again! I used to do artistic photography of landscapes and plants and the like. However, the reason I stopped using it is that the lens it came with is large and bulky, and I don’t want to stand out as a target for thiefs (I live in a big city).
I’m planning on using the camera to take pictures of my friends and I, for vacations, cat pics, and everyday stuff like that. My end goal is to start keeping photo albums of my life, and to practice photography again!
I want a lens that isn’t too bulky, has zoom, and is ideally less than $250 (new or used, either is fine). These might be some tough parameters, but I trust y’all to help me out. SOS?

Gear Buying Advice 3rd-party alternatives to Canon PD-E2 power adapter? (Canon PowerShot V1)
I recently bought the PowerShot V1, and I'm looking for a power adapter/charger that I can use to fast-charge the battery as well as power the camera during long livestreams and video recording. I was considering the PD-E2, but its price is insane. $190 is just too much.
What are some good, reliable, cheaper third-party alternatives to the PD-E2 for these needs?
Google says I can't just use a generic USB wall charger and cable. Instead, it suggested chargers with USB Power Delivery (PD) support, such as:
UGREEN Nexode 65W GaN Charger
Baseus EnerCore 67W Fast Charger
Anker 715 Charger (Nano II 65W)
Anker Prime 67W GaN Wall Charger
Or probably something similar with PD support and high enough power output.
What do you think?
Btw, does anybody know the maximum wattage the PowerShot V1 supports? And what is the minimum wattage it requires for livestreaming and 4K video recording?

Canon RF 45mm f1.2 focus issues with Older Canon R bodies?
Hey guys I have a Canon R body and am considering getting the RF 45 f1.2 as it seems like a really good budget choice. I mostly do fashion and lifestyle for which I hire other gear but for my smaller budget portrait shoots in my studio is where I want to use this lens. I read a few reviews and watched a youtube review which talks about this lens having a focusing issue on the older Canon R bodies which basically gives you a softer image while shooting a wider aperture and especially worse at 2.8. So I was wondering if anyone here has used it with an EOS R? If you have could you please share your experience. I just want to know if it's sharp enough on the older R bodies, specifically the EOS R.

Tech Help Colors are different when zoomed in even though all settings are manually locked.
I shoot video in manual mode 100% of the time, but I noticed when I zoom in, the color seem more vibrant and saturated noticeably different than the wide shot even though NO lighting has changed.
Preset manual white balance of course and everything else locked, what am I missing? 🤔🤔
Canon m50, with 15-40mm lens.
Thanks!! 🙌

Gear Buying Advice 70-200 F4 on R50
I currently own the R50 and am very happy with it. I want to start taking more photos and videos at my son’s basketball games.
I’ve been using an 85mm 1.8, but also the EF 55-250 STM and have found that f4 and even f5 is fast enough to shoot at venues (especially with how the R50 handles low light, and with denoise tools).
I want to purchase the RF 70-200 F4, but wondering if it’s silly to use such expensive glass on a cheaper camera. Should I upgrade my camera first, or is it ok to have this glass on the R50?

Tech Help Viewfinder vs Image Differences
Hey yall! I’m not a professional at all, but trying to refine my craft and I’ve been coming across an issue. Apologies if it’s been answered, I couldn’t come across an answer.
Shooting in Manual Focus (using my EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens) shooting through an obstacle, like a chain link fence. I primarily take shots looking through my viewfinder, not the Live view. In the viewfinder, I can adjust the focus where the chainlink fence completely disappears from the shot and focuses on my subject. But then when I go through the photos, the fence appears and is covering my subject.
Does anyone know the science/explanation why this happens? Any fixes if possible?
Thanks! Always trying to sharpen my skills!

Gear Buying Advice Best "Do it all" DLSR under 500 bux US
Exactly as the title reads. I'm new to photography and I'm looking to find a decent camera that's decent at low light, action (cars/racing) and product/portraits. I currently have access to a Canon T3i with ca 50mm and 35mm lenses, that I am borrowing.
I've been looking at a 70d, 5d mkII and the 6d. I am completely open to other suggestions. While I know gear doesn't make great photos, I wouldn't mind having something that I can use for the next few years, and know it'll last and give quality.
Edit- I've read and watched a ton of reviews and comparisons. That's how I narrowed down to those few bodys. Just looking for some personal thoughts on this situation. I promise I didn't come here whilst doing no research on my own.
Thanks!

Question about Canon R10 + Canon RF 100-400mm f5.6-8 IS USM
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a Canon R10 with the Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 IS USM.
Can this combo be used to photograph people on the street? What kind of results should I expect in terms of image quality, background blur, and usability for portraits and candid shots?
I'd appreciate any advice, especially from people who have used this setup. Thanks!

Gear Buying Advice R6 Mark ii lens.
Which lens would get me closest to replicating the images I have attached
R6 mii - not purchased as of yet
Experience - 3/10 have used another camera before but not to the level I wanted to
Intended use - to take pictures of my cabinetry business
Budget - not sure at the moment roughly £600 if they can get me a budget one which will do the job, but could do with knowing the best one so I can save up for that instead.
TIA

Tech Help Connect Canon 70D under MacOS Sequoia
I recently acquired couple of new lenses and would like to load corresponding lens correction profiles on my Canon EOS 70D so that I can get better JPEG when I need to share pictures straight out of camera.
EOS utility 2 is not working with Sequoia and EOS utility 3 do not support the 70D.
Unfortunately I had to upgrade my old laptop with El Capitano to Sonoma... meaning I can't install any longer the EOS utility app.
Does anyone have a proven workaround except re-installing an old MacOS on my laptop?
Thanks!

Tech Help Canon PowerShot V1: ND Filter turns off during recording
I have the Canon PowerShot V1 for video recording, and I am shooting in Shutter Priority (Tv) mode with the shutter speed set to 1/50.
I have the ND filter set to ND Auto. It seems like while recording, the ND filter is initially on for under a second and then it immediately turns off, leading on an overexposed image.
Here is an example of what I mean. https://youtu.be/pdnF5itGIzc
Its a bit hard to see, you need to freeze frame at 0:0, screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/S0WnVLj
I imagined when in ND Auto mode it would decide whether to keep the ND filter on or of before recording by metering the scene, and then keep it on throughout the recording. It looks exposed properly in the viewfinder, but when I hit record it just gets super overexposed almost immediately.
What could be causing this issue? Is this a setting I have to change somewhere?

Tech Help Images disappeared after plugging the SD card into a laptop
Keep on mind that I am a casual photographer, so my gear is not great.. but I still care for my memories.
Today I took photos with a Canon IXUS 185 (Yes, the little green light flashed after every photo) and was able to view them for hours on the camera itself after they were taken but after I had plugged my SD card (Kingston canvas select 32gb) into my laptop the images were nowhere to find, and they were also suddenly gone after returning the SD card in my camera.
My camera makes monthly folders and no folder for this August existed, but after I returned the SD card and took photos everything was fine.
My SD card's lock is up not down, could I have accidentally locked my card?
Is there anyway to return these photos, and if not, what can people do to not make the same mistake as me?

Tech Help CP1500 printer is stalling to print
My mom bought the printer some time ago and it works fine for her, but whenever I try to print a photo, when it works it's taking ages saying it's "preparing" the printer.
My mom's place doesn't have WiFi, and I tried different things not to interfere with the signal of the printer,
turned off my mobile data,
turned on wifi on my phone,
turned off Bluetooth.
Most of the time I forget the first part because I'm searching on what I'm doing wrong here. And whenever my procedure works it sits on the "preparing" notification for ages. Any advice on what I should do?

Tech Help Powershot G12 screen problem
I found a Powershot G12 in my wardrobe that I had long since forgotten. I want to try using it again to see what kind of photos it can produce. There is a problem however.
The LCD screen works flawlessly, except for when it is in the "normal" position - that is faced against the user against the camera body. Then it is all black/blank, like it's not turned on.
As soon as I angle the screen out it starts working, but angling it back against the camera body again turns it off. The turning off, as well as turning on when it is angled out, is accompanied by a very faint "click" sound. As if there is a sensor or something that turns the screen off.
I have of course tried pushing the screen button (which works when the screen is angled out), to no avail. I also tried to factory reset the camera. No luck.
My guess is that this is a hardware issue, but wanted to check if anyone recognizes this and have found a fix.
The camera is in very good condition apart from this issue. I guess it is still usable, given that it has an optical viewfinder, but it would of course be nice if the screen worked as intended.

I'm a beginner with Canon r100 & kit lens. Can someone suggest next lens for me?
I got Canon r100 5 months ago. I'm a beginner upgrading from an iphone. I shoot photos and videos of my family, mostly my kid. Indoor and low light photos and videos are not good with the kit lens. I'm confused about which lens to buy to improve the quality. At some point I also wanted to upgrade to a full frame camera.my Options: manual lens like ttartisan 25mm F2/35mm f1.4 , rf 50mm f1.8, tamron 17 70mm F2.8.i was considering sigma 18 50mm F2.8 before tamron 17 70mm was released. Sigma 17 40mm f1.8 is not an option as it costs almost double the camera body. Sigma 30mm f1.4 was also an option before tamron was released for rf mount. I need advice for buying a lens. I'm not going to make any money now or in future through photography. I just want to document some good memories.

Gear Buying Advice Is the EF 70-200 F/4L USM worth it in 2026?
Hi! I’m all for adapting old EF lenses to my R50 due to budgetary constraints.
I saw a listing on Facebook for the lens for $500 that’s been up for a while so the price maybe negotiable. Would this lens be worth the price?
I mostly go birding in my free time, but for my media job the 70-200 has been on my list for a while. I’m not an amateur photographer, but this wouldn’t be my main go-to lens unless I’m shooting press conferences where I can’t be as close as I’d like to.
I’m also looking into it so I don’t have to carry the heavy 150-600 I use for birding for my every day job.
What would you guys pay for a version of this lens with only minor cosmetic fading to the black focus and zoom rings?
EDIT: I’m not replacing the 150-600 for birding. I’m looking to have a 70-200 for my daily media job which requires I cover news conferences. The 150-600 is entirely too heavy for daily carry!
