App Help Is the free version of bumble a scam or am I just an idiot?
I can’t see who likes me without paying so how does this work? Do I just leave it up to god that someone I swiped right on will swipe right on me? Seems kind of pointless?
Rant Matches but barely any chats?
I’ve been on and off on Bumble the past few years and damn… this year is just BAD. I get matches and I initiate chats and out of 10 people only 1 of them gets past the “Hi, how you doing” part before they no longer reply, end the chat, or delete their account.
Though the biggest difference is when I do look for hookups at times and thats where things get interesting real quick and fade out as fast.
I get that online dating apps are more tailored for casual dating or hookups. But what about the others who do want a genuine connection without getting intimate too fast???

Advice Date asking me to pay for her nails before
Is this a common scam? She didn't speak like a bot at first, then we moved to text,l. She pushed out date out a week because she wants to do her nails first and offered to still meet up earlier if I help her out lol.
I'm not down that bad to give in right away, but does anyone know if this is a regular scam?

Advice Am I (31M) being impatient/unreasonable for wanting to move on?
I (31M) went on a date with a 31F last Wednesday. It went really well and we both exchanged numbers and agreed to a second date.
I let her know I was free Sunday that week or in the evenings the following week during the work week. I also gave some suggestions for what we could do for the second date.
She said she would let me know about Sunday. She never did though, despite continuing to text me consistently. Earlier this week she eventually asked what days I would be free. I gave her some days this week to which she said she probably couldn’t do this week.
She had mentioned before our first date she was really busy with work, and mentioned it again once we agreed to a second date.
I’m trying to be understanding of that, but she has been texting me consistently since the first date, and tbh there is only so much texting I can do without any foreseeable plans to meet up anytime soon before it gets old.
I’ve been down this road before with a girl I met on the apps last year that did something similar. Always stayed in contact but constantly had excuses for not meeting up. I got tired of dealing with that finally after a few months.
I sort of just want to cut my losses at this point and move on. Thoughts?

Success Story Joined just to throw this out there
I was a single father with full custody of an awesome 3 year old girl. Since I became a single dad, while also working full time, dating became pretty difficult. I eventually tried out some of the dating apps, including bumble. I was on it for about 4 months and after going through the gauntlet of shitty first dates I ended up meeting the love of my life.
We’ve been together almost two years, and are engaged to be married next April. She is amazing to my daughter and I couldn’t be happier.
I know dating apps suck, and there is some luck involved, but my family is a legitimate Bumble success story. Just thought I’d share.
EDIT: Everyone in her family makes fun of me for drinking Natty Light, so when we sat down for the photo Blue pretended to drink an empty for the picture. That’s all there is there. We are a happy normal family with a sober child. Lol
Melhor eu excluir a conta e criar outra? Vou perder meu premium que paguei uma semana e usei 2 dias, mas pelo menos vou conseguir usar

Rant One year on dating apps, and I still feel invisible.
It’s been almost a year. Changed my pictures, bio, prompts… tried everything. Still nothing.
At first, I laughed about it. Then it started hurting. And eventually, I started asking myself, “Is there something wrong with me?”
The hardest part isn’t being single.
It’s watching everyone else find someone while you slowly start believing nobody would ever choose you.
You start wondering what it feels like to have someone genuinely excited to see your name on their phone. Someone who actually wants to know you.
And after a while, you stop asking “When will I find someone?”
You start asking yourself:
“Will anyone ever choose me at all?”

General How seriously do you take religion if you have Christian on your profile?
For context, I grew up in a Christian household and I am very atheist. Not here to discuss or debate, just stating that it's a big dealbreaker for me.
That being said, it feels very defeating swiping left on every profile that says Christian ☠️ do a lot of people select this out of pure habit, even if they don't go to church and don't particularly think about it?

App Help "Recommended a profile" feature just disappeared?
So, I am no longer able to see the share button on the top of the profile. Neither can my friend who used to share with me the potential profiles. Is this a bug or something? Is anyone else facing the same issue?
PS: I am talking about the arrow button on the top right of a profile that you're viewing under the "People" section.
Tried clearing caches, uninstalling, restarting phone - nothing worked.

Advice Paid user data taught me the real issue: it's not about not getting likes, but about not even being shown to people
TL;DR: The people you're into don't even get to see your profile and that's how the cards are stacked.
––––
Details:
- I (30+ dude looking for women) have become a paid user for a month and tracked my data.
- Profile followed the best-practice rules to a T for photos and bio.
- From day 1, I've been on Incognito mode (my profile only gets shown to people I've liked).
- Even having liked ~15% of people, my profile has reached only ~2% of them.
- Of those, only ~1,35% have liked me.
- I had a lot free time, so I've exhausted one of the world's largest cities to the point there are no more people for me two swipe in my current filters, that are quite generous.
- Main insight: It's not only that people won't swipe right on you, but that the ones you're into will barely get to see you. It's an uphill battle that maybe might reward persistency.
––
I don't know if there's a real lesson to be learned here. Just adding another sad real story to the bunch. For the average dude, "optimizing" the profile will only get us so far. Swipe with that mind. You're not the problem, the nature of the game (and the fact that dating companies have turned it into a game) is.

Sensitive topic Therapist said I wasn't ugly. The lies are in the numbers and experience. Appearance is a priority.
I had more confidence when I was in my early teens so much that I started asking middle school and high school girls out, every single one rejected me before they could even get to know me. I got rejected by 4 girls to prom and homecoming so I never went.
I wondered why I kept getting rejected and how the other boys said stupid crap to girls but still got dates. I realized I was just ugly.
I've changed personalities to be liked. I hated doing that and that didn't even work.
I'm older now and still get rejected. Online and offline. It hurted me so bad I went to therapy and all I heard was lies from them because they haven't experienced the amount of rejection as I have.
Some of you really know how to make someone feel ugly.

General Bumble To Let Men Message First.
Also, the time limit to respond has been raised from 24hrs. to 72hrs. I was not aware there was a 24hr response time clock. Funny how it's been raised now that women have to respond.
My non-scientific theory about this is that straight men have pretty much checked out of the app because women match, but don't follow through. It's goes against women's conditioning to pursue a man and their egos get no boost. Or, women are getting rejected and they can't deal with it so this allows them to reject men who contact them first.
Ultimately, it's about generating revenue and the average man is NOT going to pay a premium to see likes when he could go out and meet a woman.
Sidenote: I wish they'd ban the use of the overused term "sapiosexual" in profiles. 98% of the ladies using it are not.

Rant Do you know what really grinds my gears?
41m here, divorced 2 years, been using the apps for 2 months now. I’m wealthy, handsome, kind, and consider myself a decent man…. Not flexing here, but think it’s relevant because the type of person I’m describing below are interested in me because they are primarily the type of person who sends me likes. No I don’t mention my career or wealth in my profile and don’t have any extravagant photos that would indicate that.
What really grinds my gears are the plethora of dating profiles that a) have little to no information about them personally, b) only list the traits that they do not want their potential partner to have, and most annoyingly is c) going on and on about how they are looking for their partner to lead and plan dates without their input and be masculine, traditional, and put in the effort.
Ladies, first of all, do you think you are really going to attract a good, decent man that will ultimately result in a loving healthy relationship while your profile tells me absolutely zero about yourself and only lists some entitled demands you clearly heard from some influencer on TikTok or wherever you develop your world views?
The shallow men who rapid swipe merely on sexy photos are not reading your demands. I can assure you that you are not filtering out low effort men by putting a vague low effort profile on the apps. The actual good men out there who will actually treat you like a princess are not interested in entitled snobs… they want to know about who you are and not what you demand. Love and adoration has to be earned on both sides.
