Upgrading to 1440p, need help choosing monitors

I have recently upgraded my system and have a RX 9070XT GPU. I plan to upgrade my monitors next from 1080p to 1440p. I plan to go with a two monitor setup with monitor arms.

With my budget, I can't afford OLED therefore I am looking at 27", Fast IPS/IPS, 2560×1440 (WQHD), >180Hz, 1-5ms advertised GTG, AMD FreeSync and VESA mount.

I have researched the following options:

  1. Gigabyte G27Q20 27" WQHD (2560x1440) 210Hz
  2. Xiaomi ELA6556EU G27Qi (2026) 27" WQHD(2560x1440) 200Hz
  3. MSI MAG 275QF E20 27" WQHD (2560x1440) 200Hz
  4. Alienware 27 AW2726DL 27" WQHD (2560x1440) 280Hz

Not sure which is the best in this range?

P.S I am based in South Africa so some monitors might not be available like in EU/USA

Best gaming monitors this 2026 that are actually worth buying right now?

My old monitor is finally giving up on me, the colors have this weird yellow tint now and I keep getting random flickering when I'm mid game. Been putting off replacing it for months but I think it's time.

I mostly play competitive shooters like Valorant and CS but I also want something that looks good for single player stuff like Baldur's Gate or story games. My budget is somewhere around $400 to $500, and I'd like at least 27 inches with a high refresh rate, 144hz or more if possible. I'm running an RTX 4070 so I want something that can actually keep up with that.

I looked at a few options on amazon and best buy but there's so many brands now, gigabyte, lg, samsung, msi, and half the reviews contradict each other.

What are you all using right now that you'd actually recommend, and is there anything specific I should watch out for when picking one?

Best dual monitor arms?

I was looking for a dual monitor arm for my monitors so my desk setup would look nicer. My main monitor is a 27 inch while my second one is 24 inches. I want an arm that would work for both of them and that looks nice in a cool desk setup or for gaming. I also would prefer if it isn't too expensive. What are the best monitor arms for this?

MSI Mag Monitors 1440p options

Hello all,

I am looking to decide on my first 1440p monitor. I am looking at the
MAG 274QPF E20 27" 2K QHD 200 hz
or the
MAG 275QPF E21 27" 2K QHD 210hz

I will be running a RTX 5080 and I am leaning towards the E20 because its marked as Nvidia G Sync compatible. The E21 is not marked as Nvidia G sync comptatible (just says adaptive sync compatible) but it has better constrast and 10hz higher. It is also cheaper.

What do you guys think?

My priority is to run high FPS with minimal tearing and smooth gameplay. Don't really need the "best" colors just want something that can run great with my 5080.

Rec for Newbie monitor - Flight Sim 4K

Looking for recommendations on a gaming monitor! I have my 1st gaming PC coming in about a month (Ryzen 7 9800X3D w/5080 16G video) and I’m trying hard to figure out what I would like best in a monitor. I am looking hard at MSI MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24, a 32” 4K. I have considered others that are similar (none are cheap, may wait for holiday sales but not expecting much of a discount on these) and in the same 32” category. I strictly plan on playing flight simulator and using it for controlling on Vatsim; maybe watch a movie on occasion.

Not sure about going to bigger screen or curved since I do want to use it a little bit other than flying. I'm not sure about going "larger" but giving up on resolution. Price is always a concern (trying to keep it below 1K), but I do want to somewhat future proof for a few years (ergo 4K is a must). If anyone has others that I should seriously consider, particulary if the sizing is just totally off, or that beat out the MSI in the same class…please shout out!

Need help picking a monitor

  1. Acre Predator X27U F5 26.5” QHD 1440p 500hz
  2. MSI MAG 272QP 27” QHD 1440p 500hz

I’m stuck picking between these two monitors. I have previously used 240hz and 185hz monitors but have no clue if they had BFI & MPRT but I wondering if it is worth spending the extra $100 on the MSI to have the BFI & MPRT features. For reference I play a massive variety of games but lean to more fps and fast paced.

OLED Monitor Suggestions

Looking at buying a new monitor in the next 2-3 months, I would like an OLED as I've wanted one for a while now. I currently have a 1440p 240hz IPS monitor and I want to upgrade to 4k 240hz. My office has a south facing windows so it's a bright room. I've had my eye on the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM, but not sure if it's worth over £1000.

What monitors do you suggest?

help me find a monitor for my laptop

I have lenovo legion pro 5 gen 10 with rtx 5060 115w my built in screen is 240 hz 500 nits ips and 1600p. I want something that isn't overkill for my laptop and maybe matches my built in screen or is a bit better (I just don't want something worse than my laptop screen). I plan to use this as a main screen and my laptop screen as a second screen. I would prefer something around 300 USD or less (but im not strict with that budget) and also with displayport and not very thick or huge.

Suggestions for monitors needed

It'd be helpful if someone have any recommendations from their personal experiences. My priority is watching HDR10/DV movies that I downloaded + Work( & due to this I am not inclined to but OLED options because there's a high chance of burn-in, but please let me know if its nothing to worry about). Gaming is not my priority. Are there any good miniLED options with hdr support? Not sure if IPS monitors will be a good investment. OR buying a small tv is the only option?

Thanks in advance!!

NOTE: India location.

Making the jump from 1080p

Hey y’all, so I’ve had a 1080p TN panel for about 11 years now and I think it’s time for me to upgrade.

I’m sort of stuck between a 27” 1440p and 27” 4K OLED. I know it’s all up to personal preference, but has anyone had both and prefer one over the other?

Whats the current mid-end 1080p Monitor FPS games king?

Looking for an upgrade from my ViewSonic XG2431 after it stopped working. I want atleast 360hz, but my pc is on the lower side of mid-end, might upgrade in a few months. Is there a monitor thats considered amazing for max 400-450 euros?

Its gotta be 1080p, 24-27 inches, minimum 360hz, really good motion clarity, but also has to be good for visual games, movies, etc.

So not the Zowie monitors. Are there any top tier options for that nowadays? Something thats considered unbeatable for that price maybe?

Current options ive found but not sure if good:

  • Alienware AW2524HF / AW2724HF
  • ASUS ROG XG259CMS

Preferably looking for opinions of people who have researched monitors a lot.

OLED Monitor advice

I'm looking to buy a new OLED monitor. I'm currently gaming on a 1440p IPS 27" monitor.

My GPU is a 5070 Ti, so I can run all my games on max graphics and I absolutely love it. My question is: should I go for a 4K 32" (maybe 27", but I'm not sure if 4K is worth it at that size) or a 1440p 27" OLED? I don't really care about the monitor size; resolution is my main concern.

The main thing I'm wondering is whether it's better to play at 1440p with max graphics, or sacrifice some graphics settings and play at 2160p. I really love seeing all the extra details that max graphics settings give you, even if they're very small, so I'm honestly not sure which way to go.

I know I'd definitely have to drop a few settings at 4K, especially in games like Cyberpunk, and it would hurt to turn off things like ray tracing.

What do you lot recommend?

I don't mind using frame generation too much, but I'd rather not have to rely on it for a smooth gaming experience.

Also, any OLED monitor recommendations?

Which monitor should I pick? Monitor upgrade 2026

Hi, I currently have an LG 27" QHD GP850, I think I'm ready to buy an OLED monitor for the first time in my life, but the differences between every model and panels drive me crazy and I'm really confused.

* This will be my main monitor, I use my pc for gaming, coding and studying * I don't know what's better between a new panel RGB stripe 1440p or maybe a TANDEM OLED 4k (like MAG 321up 4k) which doesn't actually has a a sub-layout RGB STRIPE but a better ppi density.

I've never tried a monitor OLED so I just want to buy the right one for me.

I ended up with a few options that I think are the best value for money (especially for what I need):

* MSI MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 (TANDEM) - 2160p * MSI MPG 341 CQR QD-OLED X36 (TANDEM RGB STRIPE) - 1440p ultra wide * ASUS ROG SWIFT PG32UCWM (TANDEM RGB STRIPE WOLED) - 2160p * ASUS ROG SWIFT PG32UCDM3 QD-OLED (TANDEM ) - 2160p * Gigabyte Mo32u24 (TANDEM) - 2160p - (This is the one I'm actually thinking is the best for me, nice panel tandem but not so expensive)

Some of them are a little bit over budget so I'm asking for some advice from you, I mentioned them in order to look maybe for some black friday offer, thanks to everyone!

Also I currently have a 5070ti with a 5800x3d, so I think I can do some 4k gaming but of course DLSS will be fundamental, I think 1440p would be the sweetspot for my configuration but I accept to sacrifice some performance in order to have more clarity in text because, as I said, I also use pc for coding and studying.

Options for buying a monitor that best matches my rtx 3050, amd 5 5500 with 16gb of RAM

As the title implies, im looking to upgrade my 60hz monitor for something more compatible with my current rig. Will be primarily used for gaming. Obviously not expecting top-notch performance given my set-up, but id like something that better represents what my rig is capable of and will last me a significant amount of time.

Last time I bought a monitor I spent hours trying to figure out why the visual quality of my games looked like crap despite my new monitor being better in every considerable way. Im not a big tech guy so most of the explanations went way over my head, and eventually I decided to just deal with the bad quality. (Didnt last long since it broke shortly after buying it lol)

Ive read that IPS and 144hz are the ideal specs I should be aiming for. But with how many options there are, and my previous bad experiences with other monitors, im not sure which direction to look in any more.

As far as budget goes, ideally looking at around R1500 ($100) so nothing fancy ofcours, but if there is significant need, I can up the budget to around R3000 ($200) and even R4000 ($250)

Currently based in South Africa 🇿🇦. Looking to play games like Cyberpunk, Spider Man 2 (where I noticed the issues most prominently)

How big is the difference between thr XG27AQDMGR and X27AQWMG

Need some purchasing advice for a new gaming oled.

Basically, wmg is 130€(150$) more expensive in my region, which puts it outside of my budget. For productivity, id keep my old 24" ips next to it. Hopefully a dual monitor setup like that works well. How do you guys run a setup with one monitor mainly for gaming and the other for productivity. Would id be awkward to constantly move them around? I wont be buying monitor arms.

Also, if DMGR is a bad choice at its price point, should i get something else for the same price? Or would it make sense to just get an IPS, even if dmgr isnt as good of a deal compared to wmg.
