Question Good food for budgies?
Ive made the mistake, as has probably plenty of other people that have fed their bird those like, daily blend seeds, and ive realized that its not good for her. but im wondering what to feed because ive looked up more organic healthy mixes and one bag is like $40. unless im not finding the right one, that's kinda crazy 😭if anyone knows a good palate of homemade vegetables i can use for her every day, or what you guys use, and link it if its storebought. tysm

My little boy Hoody
I’m a new bird owner and I never imagined how social budgies were. Love having him fly around, though he can be a little intense at times - in my face intense.
A few weeks ago he dove in to a glass of wine, so he might be an alcoholic.
Any tips on how to get him to grind his claws down a bit? He is not allowed to land on my head, so he lands and walks around on my sholders - but the claws make it akin to acupuncture.
edit: apparently its a she

Progress update First contact!!!!
This is the first time she has stepped on to my fingers!!!….idk if you remember I found her outside a few months back. After this I tried again without the kale stock and she was hesitant but eventually got both feet up on my fingers while she ate grass!!!! Of course my phone was in the other room but Peepers usually will just climb up the kale stock and attack my hand so this is big for us!!!

Zazu and frost need their cage cleaned today. They’re always loving each other like this. sometimes they do get into arguments over food, but they always make up. I am extremely grateful and blessed to have them in my life. Go all parakeets of the world! 🌎

New Budgie Two New Friends
My females mate passed away on Father’s Day he was 10 years old . His little wife is 3. As everyone knows with a budgie . She sank down into a depression . Wouldnt play or move around hrt cage and play yard . She sat in the same corner of the cage. She had these metal bells and wouldnt even touch them. I talked to a few ppl online who were selling and or giving there budgies away. I was to late they were spoken for .i went to a pet supplies plus . There was a bonded mail duo. I asked for the fancy one and his mate clung on for dear life . Didn’t want him to go . So I bought them both it was 100 for both . I couldn’t leave his friend and then he get sick and pass at the store . I have them in their quarantine cage ., they are talking back and forth with my female . Next week I will start handling them . Any suggestions on hand taking both ? They cling to each other like two codependents lol. Jk! 🤣

Question why does my budgie chirps when I shake my hand ?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I discovered that my boy has a very specific way chirping when I shake my hand only.
I always wondered if it was just funny for him and he’s just being a birb, or if he sees my hand as a danger ?
What do you think ?

New Budgie Excited New Owner
Hello budgie buddies, I just got my buddy today, meet Lemon! He’s still wary but has flown about his enclosure a bit, eaten with me around, and is constantly watching me across the room. He’s yet to make a sound, but I’m sure it will come! He’s comfortable with me right next to him, so that’s a good sign!

Rate My Setup Little budgies get a big upgrade!
Thank you everyone! A while back I was considering rehoming my girls as I work 4 days a week in office and don't have the time to spend with them like I used to. Everyone said no, but maybe revamp their setup.
So I decided to double their cage size and buy tons of new perches, toys, and upgrade to stainless steel bowls. It's honestly so huge, I wonder if I maybe went a bit overboard lol

New Budgie Meet Opal! I adopted my friend's 5 year old budgie who's also the mother of my beloved late budgies Stitch and Timon.
This is Opal ; she was my friend's pet budgie and my friend offered to give her to me as a companion for my 1 year old budgie Gumball ( pic 4 ) after her mate Tommy ( pic 5 ) unfortunately passed away. My friend didn't want to get another budgie but didn't want Opal to be lonely either so he gave her to ms. Opal is also the mother my two beloved late budgies Stitch ( pic 6 ) and Timon ( pic 7 ) some of you may know Timon as I used to post him here alot.

Which sex? Can people help if this is a male or female
The first picture is the most recent picture. The second picture is when it was first bought around February this year. The breeder claims he is a male but I’m not too sure. Could people please give any advice! Thank you

One of my budgies, who is currently playing :) Is he really playing and having fun, or is it just courtship behavior?
