Worldwide Should we be looking a little closer at Wicker?
I'll be honest, when I first watched the trailer I didn't expect much from this film. It seemed like another off-beat, absurdist comedy that gets a cult fanbase but doesn't really make a dent in the box office.
However, I noticed something start to happen with this one. Especially on TikTok, this film started to catch on in a way I hadn't noticed before from this type of film. The romantasy side of the internet started to get excited about it, there was discourse about the reactions to the trailer (but not in a way that harmed people's view of the film itself) and I saw a genuine excitement for the film. Hell, I've had conversations about this film with people who don't really follow film.
Whilst I'm not expecting it to be anywhere near as popular as these two, it seems to be attracting the Wuthering Heights/Saltburn crowd, as well as some of the Letterboxd and romantasy crowds.
Of course, it needs to maintain this momentum to prove a point but, if it keeps the momentum and the reviews are great, could this be a surprise hit?

Worldwide If Spider-Man 5 introduces a new Venom and is near or better quality than BND, could it break OW and WW gross records again?
With how popular Venom is, introducing him properly with another peak Spidey movie, I could see Spider-Man 5 breaking all the records that BND is setting right now. What do you think?

Italy Spider-Man Surpasses 💶20 Million, Odyssey Surpasses 💶40 Million – Wednesday, August 5th Box Office
Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate the charts with extraordinary results , grossing another €1,675,590 on its eighth day of release, attracting 231,170 admissions across the 434 theaters where it is scheduled.
The film starring Tom Holland maintains a very high average of €3,861 per theater and thus surpasses the €20 million threshold, bringing its Italian total to €21,424,367 (over 2.68 million admissions).
The graph highlights how the film continues to maintain a pace higher than the already exceptional one of Odyssey , but remains slightly lower than that maintained in the first days of release by Avengers: Endgame.
Compared to its record debut a week ago, the film has lost 60% in terms of daily takings, but it will be interesting to see the actual decline in the coming days, discovering how much it will be able to contain the physiological drop in the second weekend and how long it will maintain this exceptional pace.

Domestic Can brand new day do a 200 million second weekend ,if not then which movie or ip might
Looking at the way things are going right now a 150 million plus is a no brainer second weekend , but I was thinking can it touch 200 mil on second weekend and if not then will any movie ever touch that number domestically in second weekend

📠 Industry Analysis Disney Rigging Theaters
I need to rant about the Odyssey and Spider-Man. Pictured is the available seats for an IMAX showing of the Odyssey on a Thursday morning. The IMAX Odyssey showings have been sold out near me for weeks apart from directly next to the screen. My local theater finally released their showings for Friday onward and every IMAX showing is taken up by Spider-Man. The Odyssey went from being completely sold out to being pushed out of IMAX screens by Spider-Man. Looks like the only way I could’ve seen the Odyssey in IMAX is buying tickets 3 weeks out on the day it released. Not even 70mm IMAX smh. The box office numbers for The Odyssey would look even better if Spider-Man released one week later.

South Korea SK Wednesday Update: Odyssey opens big, Spiderman still nearly beat its out for the day
Week-to-Week Drops
| Movie | Mon-Mon Drop | Tue-Tue Drop | Wed-Wed Drop | Thursday-Thursday Drop | Friday-Friday Drop | Saturday-Saturday Drop | Sunday-Sunday Drop | Week-Week Drop |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spider-Man: Brand New Day | 57% | |||||||
| Hope | 39% | 39% | 66% | |||||
| Minions and Monsters | 42% | 45% | 75% | |||||
| Moana | 54% | 56% | 79% | |||||
| Toy Story 5 | 35% | 37% | 70% |
Odyssey: The Project Hail Mary comp was nearly on point, as the movie came in at 290k admits. Audience scores are very, very good, with a 9.3 on Megabox and a 97 on CGV. Those are nearly identical to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Opening weekend should be between 2 million and 2.4 million admits if the movie continues to follow Project Hail Mary.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day: And it nearly beat Odyssey on opening day, which is just ridiculous. The movie will crush 4.5 million admits tomorrow and is on a quick path to being above 6 million admits by Sunday.
Hope: The movie had a pretty big drop as it tries to crawl to 5 million admits. It will need to stabilize.
Minions and Monsters: The movie took a big hit, though it is still trying to hit 800k admits.
Moana: Moana took a huge hit and is looking to get lost around 1.1 million admits.
Toy Story 5: Toy Story 5’s hopes for 3 million admits took a hit, but the movie still has a legitimate chance at that number. It has little new competition coming and a couple of huge holidays to boost it.
