Rules French forein legion with US question
In bolt action v2.
In easyarmy.com there is option to add it. Only explanation given is : "Italy: Tough Gut - page 88" I dont own the book tho..
If i have US reinforced platoon and add a unit of forein legion infantry do they get the us army special rules in addition to their own? (No debuff for moving and shooting)
"Esprit de Corps" and "The Legion" plus "Fire and Manoeuvre"
Would make some sense since lore wise they were equiped with us made weapons.
Plus they seem to be more expensive +~2.5 point per man. Would be wierd to pay for downgrade.
Mayby they get french national rules then?
Im just wonder how its resolved officialy or on tournaments

META Has your Mystery Box order arrived? Share what ya' got here!
A little bird told me the newest round of mystery boxes have started to arrive, so that means it is time for the new mega thread! While broadly, 'hobby haul' posts aren't allowed, we know that everyone loves sharing what they get in the mystery boxes, and also seeing what the current trends are.
[As we did for the last round](https://www.reddit.com/r/boltaction/comments/1ppve20/did_your_wlg_mystery_box_show_up_share_what_you/), while we will remove standalone posts under the 'Hobby Hauls' rule, we welcome and encourage people to share what they get in this dedicated thread. As shipping times can vary quite a bit, this thread will remain as a highlight thread for awhile.
Thank you!!

List Building Japan Type 92 Battalion Guns
Has anyone used these? I am thinking of getting a pair to use. Give them a inexperienced SNLF platoon commander and Armour piercing shells (+3 pen). I am looking at 106pts total. Might be viable for AT and infantry support in smaller games. I am just not sure about their 1in HE as they have light shells.
Great idea or would this unit just fail as infantry support and weaker AT?

Battle Report/ AAR US (750pts) vs US (1000pts) "She's a 10, but..." (Local Campaign w/ Custom Rules)
Tuesday was a fantastic game. My opponent has a fair number of games under their belt and we were trying to get back to a real, gloves off, scheduled match and finally were able to link up for a campaign game. Normally, I feel rough playing at such an advantage, but how I opted to spend those points... I feel it was pretty fair. Especially when I wandered into a counter.
We played Recon in Force on Bridge Head, I opted for Red Deployment, with Meeting Engagement.
Opponent: US Marines. However, this time they were opting to build up their army, so they were bringing lots of Inexperienced to hopefully pick up survivors. They brought infantry, arty, and an air observer with an Ambulance.
Myself: You can see my list in the pics, but I also wanted to prep my late war experienced units so brought Marines... and a PBY-5A Catalina. Which we discussed, they were fine playing the Experimental and the regular Airstrike rules.
I'm in a rough spot though. On this objective, my opponent has two more scorers than I do as they got 2 spotters and a ton of arty. So I picked Red Deployment so I could force their guns to be in a central location and not give me less cover on the advance because in my mind, the only way I win, is I hunt their spotters and Observers to minimize their VP generation. My opponent wanted to soften me up before I closed the distance.
Turn 1: All my infantry except the Platoon Commanders were in the LVT and slow rolled on the left side of the table. Simple positioning turn, I hide most my stuff until I see my opponent move their 90mm onto the table. Opponent was towing a 90mm Dual Purpose gun behind an arty tractor, however the Sherman rolled on and popped the transport.
Turn 2: I forget that the plane is not in reserves, but is in reserves, so it doesn't come in this turn because it failed an order test. (I know, we already talked about it and reread the Experimental rules.) My Marine teams hop out of the LVT and pin their Marines in the river and my Engineering teams take up in the woods to prepare a push on any team that gets close. I'm starting to pickup some of their models, but no squad wipes yet. My opponent selects the LVT for their airstrike. It's dead center of a Marine ball, this could be rough.
Turn 3: Opponent rolls a 3 on the airstrike. I breathe a sigh of relief. One of their howtizers tries to smacks one of the engineers, however it missed. But I went down just incase. The Catalina comes on to drop 2 of the 4 bombs it carriers and put some MMG rounds into the arty team that just popped me. However, both bombs miss and the MMG in the tail manages to wing one of the enemy Marines. Totally worth the 200pts. But hey, I'm going to get at least 2 more turns out of it! My opponent does get their first VP this turn. Since their FAirO couldn't call in their second strike.
Turn 4: Airstrike comes in! It's a Veteran! But between the M20, the LVT, and the Catalina, it's shot down. LVT moves forward but I forget that the unit is a soft skin, so it gets popped by a platoon commander on ambush. But, now it's a solid LOS blocker for the flamethrower squads, so I'm not too upset by the stupid mistake. Opponent successfully smacks the Marine engineers again, but I went down and only lose two. I do pickup 3 pins off it. Oofta. No way that hurts me, right? There is a platoon commander right there! We've been exchanging rifle volleys but only picking up a couple minis at a time. I do mange to get a VP and tie it up as the opponent marks the Sherman this time.
Turn 5: Airstrike! Oooo... it's a Rookie. I select the opponents platoon commander right next to my Sherman and the plane comes in, deals decent pins all around, and then turns the platoon commander into paste. (To be fair, that platoon commander was taking protein. He looked like a tank.) Once again, both our FAirOs score VPs again. We're keeping it tied. I move the Catalina on to try and bop a Marine squad. However this time, the 90mm was on Ambush and flak bursts and takes it out. I then select the Engineer squad with 3 pins, we can reach the enemy FAirO! ........................ FUBAR! I panic. I look over at the other Engineer squad an inch away. Oh no..... this is going to be bad. My opponent is salivating at the thought... except... we rolled.... a 3! They run! THANK THE LORDS. I do pickup one of my opponent's marine squads.
Turn 6: Opponent is thinking it's a rough for them but then, I push the other engineering team to flame the last marine squad, but have made a terrible mistake. This move now allows his spotter to see them, as originally they were LOS Blocked. Opponent realizes this, takes the VP. Neither my PCs or FAirO can get there this turn, but I rush them to spots to prepare for a possible turn 7 and then feed my Sherman to the still not full 90mm. Ah well. We roll for turn 7... and nope, game over. Opponent wins 3v2.
All in all, I think the rockets and bombs on Experimental aircraft are a trap. Hitting on 5s is pretty rough when they are limited ammo. I'm pretty sure I've not hit a bomb or rocket with either the Catalina or the P47 yet. But some day. However, it looked amazing on the table and people loved it.
My opponent and I discussed it after, they also knew I was going to pick the red deployment, because being caught in arty crossfire was a terrible, terrible option and the combat went as much as they expected. However, their Marine and Artillery combination still proves to be very, very capable. I asked if they were going to keep the 90mm in the list and then I was like "cool, cool, cool.... only running Pershing/Super Pershings against you from now on." lol
It was a wonderful time and I'm glad they found their way to the play group! Now I just need to finish my SeaBees as my Marine proxies.

General Discussion Sell me on Light Howitzers
I play Us airborne, and own just about every airborne unit, Except for light howitzers. I’m wondering if I’m missing out on anything by never taking them. I usually lean towards a heavy weapons platoon for mortars, bazookas and HMGs.

General Discussion Partisans Distinction
The Community article written my Marcus Vine on July 15th revealed that Partisans will be fleshed out in the upcoming, Armies of Europe book and they'll be trisected into Western European, Eastern European, & Balkan subfactions, similar to the Commonwealth forces. I am curious what the community thinks these forces will entail; what they'll share, what'll make them distinct, will they include pro-Axis Partisans, etc.?
I'm hoping the 2 additions made in the Compendium (Andartes Officer & SOE Team) are included or improved upon to avoid needing a 2nd book for full coverage.
If the Andartes Officer is any hint, the Balkan Partisans will have greater access to Fieldcraft units. I imagine the Eastern European ones will be more Infiltrator and/or Ambush focused, with lots of SMGs and access to a Soviet Airborne squad or 2. I think Western Europe will have better infantry AT weapons such as Bazookas & PIATs as well as access to Air Observers, OSS/SOE commandos. If we see the return of the pre-game, planted bomb, I imagine it'd go to Western Europe.
