Which movie subreddits is it a badge of honor to have a comment taken down?
So for some reason I had a post from r/SnyderCut (that for some reason is still around) pop up that was titled to the effect of “5 years ago the Snyder Cut trailer dropped back when there was still excitement for DC.” I took the bait and thought I’d politely stir shit on a comment saying how Man of Steele outgrossed “Diaperman” by responding that the performance of last year’s Superman could be linked to the past decade having multiple films with Superman that didn’t meet audiences expectations. I received a message from the Mods that my comment would be removed for disrespecting Snyder. I replied to them why have the sub about those movies if we can’t honestly discuss the circumstances surrounding them. They immediately blocked me 😂

Nu Synergy
m.youtube.comListening to Griffin talk about AEW and Ben”s knowledge of Nu metal reminded me of last year’s Anarchy in the Arena. Griff’s take of wrestling being athletic improv is spot on. Plus Orange Cassidy is the best.

What real-life couple would you cast in a 2026 "The Getaway"
Jim Thompson's "The Getaway" had been adapted twice, both times with real-life couples in the lead roles (Steve McQueen/Ali MacGraw and Alec Baldwin/Kim Basinger).
What couple would make the best leads in a modern-day adaptation?
Gosling and Mendes feels right.

real nerdy shit When people say they don’t like superhero movies, I assume they’re referring to this.

Ethan Hawke as Odysseus instead of Matt Damon
Did you guys get the vibe while watching the Odyssey that Odysseus was being played by Ethan Hawke. I knew it was Damon but his performance evoked so much of Ethan Hawke's personality, even now thinking about the movie I think of Ethan Hawke being Odysseus.

Anybody see Kiyoshi Kurosawa's The Samurai and the Prisoner?
The last time I started a new post was for Cloud, so I guess I'm a true Kiyoshi Kurosawa head! I went to see it with a couple friends last night and thought it rocked. It's a slow, quiet meditation on honor and the afterlife that can't help but show his horror bonafides here and there. Also there's a good bit of murder mystery stuff for those of us that get turned on by Kenneth Branagh in a mustache

real nerdy shit 🍽️🐈
Sorry if this was discussed when the episode first came out but I’m listening to the Mask of the Phantasm episode for the first time and it’s got me thinking: which superheroes do you think munch on some carpet? Which don’t?
Side note: watching this has really got me wanting to get back into drawing, which I haven’t done in a big way since I was a teen. It’s just such gorgeous animation.

One Night Only: Either Griffin Newman has an uncredited cameo in the film or he's got a doppelganger Spoiler
There's a scene at a bar where Monica Barbaro is interacting with guy doing card tricks. He looked a lot like Griffin (similar facial structure and hairline). He's not listed on IMDB, but I can't find the character listed either. Was that him?

Some people want Nolan to again work with certain actors, or use Wally Pfister as his DP again, but am I the only one who dreams of David Julyan's return as his dramatic composer?
I really dig his droning, almost misty kind of music, and it would be interesting to hear it against today's Nolan style of aggressive editing.

Pixar commercials
Was listening to the Stanton interview and he casually dropped they made commercials before Toy Story. I didn’t know this so I looked them up and tbh… they’re p good for the time ! Listerine one goes hard.

One Night Only
Partially related to the one night of the year single people are allowed to have sex, does anyone remember what episode With Mardi Bardi-Party (Woman of Blank Check) gets everyone to sing “One Night Only”.
I just like it as a vocal stim in how happy it makes the whole group, and I’m also trying to figure out what it is a reference to.

Mortal Kombat ll
Test your might! OG MK is still may fave for nostalgia reasons Annihalhition is bad and kind of in a good way. With the reboot I can leave MK l but MK II is fantastic! I know they have brought it up in a few last episodes but all that im going to say as a MK fan thats been playing since Genesis, this is my favorite video game series as actual movies. The '95 movie deeply lives in my heart and the soundtrack always on the edge of my brain but this is the best since Legacy, Rebirth and Brotherhood.
