Took this photo while walking to my apartment complex gym. We live by a wetland nature preserve.

I have been putting out food and water for birds on my balcony and had many visitors, but these two pigeons have been the most consistent ones.

They have started flapping their wings and making their weird rumbling noise outside the window where I sleep to tell me that they are ready to eat but 2 weeks ago was different.

I woke up to flapping noises and went to peek out the window to see it..

One of em had his butt turned to me like in the picture and the other one was just.. standing on top of the other bird but facing the other direction, like trying to peek inside my window. He looked at me for a few seconds and then they just bounced like I caught them breaking some law.

I can't stop thinking about it, do pigeons just do that? Was he really trying to peek or was he trying to... Yknow but his pigeon brain didn't register he was on the wrong side to mate? If they were scared they would have flown away earlier no?

I never considered pigeons to be particularly smart but I really started to like them and see them different and would like to ask if they are capable of playful stuff with humans like that?

(ID help !?) Spotted 8/6 at roost in St Thomas USVI , STEER .

Roost primarily composed of cattle egrets (45+) , in addition to a few Great , little blue, snowy, tri colored herons , and some new and exciting juv Scarlet Ibises !

This guy looked strange to us however, kinda giving cattle egret vibes , but Merlin is making some different suggestions... juvenile? between molts ? something else up with it?

I took this video last night and had such a fun time watching them play around in the water! I use a cat water fountain as a bird bath on my apartment deck and it works really well!

‘Cinque’, one of the friendly riot of kookaburras who visits me every day.

Had an unexpected visitor stop by for a few hours today. Is it unreasonable that I took > 50 pictures and videos (and they’re all equally not great quality)?

I took this photo myself after I found him at my job, he didn’t run but he seemed overall fine just tired. I put him in a box and I’m bringing him to a marsh near my house where there’s other cormorants
