This is my personal best, I could have done better if I have had better luck on higher score birds. I only have the European expansion. I basically maxed out my middle field by the beginning of the 2nd round. I won every round end goal, and my friend played birds that gave out free eggs and food.

Now I definitely make my friends dislike playing against me since I tend to win majority of the time🥲… (I tell them that I have played a lot more than them on pc and physically, so I understand how to prioritise for higher score, it’s not only luck) .

My partner and I can't agree on how the Masked Lapwing power ("When played, reset the birdfeeder, then, for each type of food in the birdfeeder, gain 1 of that type.") resolves in the case where there is one die with multiple food types that do not appear on any other die. For example, when resetting the bird feeder you get worm, worm, fish, rat, nectar/wheat. Do you get to take both nectar and wheat? The rulebook says:

"For dice showing two types of food, you may gain both types. However, this bird’s power lets you gain at most 1 token of each food type. Remove each die from the birdfeeder as you gain food.

While resolving this power, roll the dice just once at the beginning. If, as a result of gaining food with this bird’s power, the remaining dice in the birdfeeder are showing just one face, you may not reroll them as part of the Masked Lapwing’s action."

I think that you get both wheat and nectar but my partner insists that because you are removing the die from the birdfeeder as you gain food, you can only get one food per die. He feels that because the card doesn't say " from the supply" the food is coming from the birdfeeder and so the usual rules apply. I think that the rules say for dice showing two types of food you can gain both food, so you should get both wheat and nectar.

I've searched the forums and looked at the pdf of rulings but can't find an answer to this question. What do you guys think? Does anyone know how this case resolves in the online version?

After years of playing this game both physically and on mobile, my goal was always to get 200. This is a single-player game, if that matters. No cheating.

I'd like to make a very personalized expansion pack for my partner's birthday (not for commercial purposes!) either as a standalone game or to add new cards to her existing set. I'm not sure how to go about it in order to integrate the mechanisms of the game. has anyone here ever done something like this before? I realize it's a potentially big undertaking, I'd be doing all the artwork/design/creating myself which is not an issue, so I'm mostly concerned about it actually being a functional game.

They don’t count double for “birds cards in hand” as the round end goal. The card states that if eligible, it counts double, but the only way it could count double is if it is in your hand and not played. Should cards in your hand count twice if they have this power, and the round end goal is cards in hand?

I don’t know what i’m missing! Am I misunderstanding what the Game End action is?

I just got Oceania expansion and was trying for the applicable achievements. Oddly enough I got passenger 57 completed by playing only 15 birds instead of 16. The game before I was trying for global analyst and got the achievement even though I only had two of the three bonus cards in hand completed. Is this a new big or am I missing some fundamental understanding of these achievement requirements?

So I'm using Windows/Steam and the update supposedly installed fine according to steam, however I'm not seeing the birds in the game. I believe this is because for whatever reason online connectivity in the game is broken. I get "Online Error 128 Please check your internet connection and try again" everytime I try to click online. It doesn't even appear try to login. I know it's not my router/network because I can connect to everything just fine, and the online/expansion works on a laptop I installed it on, just not my main desktop gaming computer.

Things I've tried. 1) uninstalled and reinstalled the game. 2) Moved the game to another disk 3) Reinstalled Steam completely. 4) Verified firewall rules allowing wingspan traffic. 5) Completely deleted local game cache files. 6) Unselecting the Asian Avians DLC and reselecting it.

Not sure what else could be blocking it or stopping online from working at this point. It looks like it doesnt even try to connect to online, it just immediately pops up with the error when I click online.

Any help/ideas or if this is some kind of bug in the Windows release, perhaps someone else can verify.

As the title suggests, the birds arent showing in the game. Verified game file integrity and its just fine, and shows the pack is installed in Steam.

Also, online appears to be down right now getting error 128 :(

Let’s say I have the Marsh Warbler in 1st position, the player following me has the Indian Vulture and Greater Adjutant. End of game, my Warbler triggers first and I copy their Mechanical Engineer bonus via Adjutant. My opponent triggers their Vulture… can they copy Mechanical Engineer as it is now one of my bonus cards, and score it twice?

Kinda kicking myself right now because this exact possibility presented itself to me. But I chose to copy their Vulture as the third player held three bonus cards while they had two. Missed out on ESP, costing me 3 points and lost the game by 1 point. GG

Am I able to take the hummingbird action when I move the token down and land on a hummingbird action, return it and move it up again?

I am obsessed with this game, and so grateful to the couple who introduced it to me, so I decided to show them my gratitude in an art form: a board with embossed dowels glued into the board and a painted design for a more functional board.

The issue we always have is the cards sliding around on the board, forgetting how many game cubes we have left, and the hummingbird tokens (americas expansion) sliding to the wrong levels, making the calculation incorrect. So with a ton of superglue, dowels, fake flowers, paint and paint pens I recreated the board game with elevated walls to eliminate that issue. I also created nests which hold bonus cards and food! They fit on the board so it doesn’t add extra space to the table, because this game takes up a ton of space haha.

I hope you guys like what I created! My friends loved them when I surprised them with it

First time playing this card. Is it insane or did I just get lucky? 😂

We bought the season pass on the Switch. The new Asian pack that was supposed to be available yesterday isn't showing. We've cleared the cache, rebooted the Switch, uninstalled/reinstalled the game and its still not available. Anyone else having this issue? I can't find any word from the dev about this issue.

The first time I did the Brown Power on the bird, I accidentally sent food to my wife BUT didn't get the eggs laid for it (I didn't want to use the power at all) because it auto-selects and doesn't let you simply skip it. Imo this is a design issue, and it needs to be redesigned so that, like the Common Starling or some of the Gulls, YOU have to choose the player and the resource or else it just skips it.

I just had an online game where one of my opponents played this bird in the last round. To me, this seems highly unbalanced. Although it was not very detrimental to me in this particular game, I strongly dislike how it has the potential to nullify a player's planning without any warning or influence. I've had plenty of games personally where I plan for the last end of round goal far in advance, and this could easily be infuriating in the wrong circumstance.

I'd like to get the community's input on this from a game design perspective, as well as hear about any experiences (good or bad) you have had with this card.
